  1. Price drop...... Come and get them..... Bob
  2. Dropped the price to reflect what Scott's are going for on Ebay and Audiogon. Those of course have not been touched by Craig or had covers/cabinets.. *SOLD* Bob
  3. Scott LK72-B Integrated Amplifier Kit version of the Scott 299D I have had a few of these and searched long and hard for one that had an excellent faceplate. I have owned this for a good number of years and was my primary setup. Hard to part with after I spent so much time finding and using it but need to downsize. Craig at NosValves went through it when I first bought it and did his normal magic. Checkout, Full Bias Mods, Tubes, Cap/Can changes, etc. The tubes included are the best ones I have always had in it which in my opinion made the best sound to me out of all the tubes I have tried. (4) NOS 7591 Power Tubes (1) Sylvania 5AR4 Rectifier (2) Sylvania 6GH8 Phase (2) Mullard Blackburn 12AX7 in Line (2) Telefunken 12AX7 in Phono Included is a cool wooden case/cover that a forum member constructed for me years ago which I painted black to match my speakers. It really sets off nice against the silver faceplate *SOLD* - Nice meeting you Denny... Bob
  4. Black Chorus 2's for sale local pickup in Charlotte, NC In good shape. I have owned them for 12 years or so. Black paint is a little worn on the tops of the cabinets. Sound extraordinary, of course. *SOLD* Bob
  5. No Sony ES preamps owned by me. All I have is my DA4ES which runs my living room setup and she is a keeper until I go fully HDMI and Blue Ray, etc. (I would have to hit the lottery first though). Bob
  6. I had it dead quiet through VRD's and into Chorus II's which are pretty sensitive before I wrapped her up to ship her out, I mean absolutely no noise at all. I just hope FedEx didnt abuse her in the shipping. Either way I will stand by and take care of any issues that I need to. I just wanted her to have a good home as I have to downsize. Bob
  7. I'm sorry for your loss Craig. My thoughts are with you.
  8. Man Rob those are nice. Makes me want to get them to replace the Black Chorus II's I have for my main system. Beautiful walnut, and with Deans crossover it makes them even more special. Bob
  9. Hi gang, I found I have a good bit of computer hardware pieces in the attic from upgrading through the years and have always kicked around the idea of creating a Media only PC with a gigantic hard drive to hold all of my 25 years or so of CD's I have collected. I am set on CPU/Memory/case/etc. But what I need help on is what kind of sound card should I get to have the best possible sound going into my 2 channel system. Also looking into any thoughts of a nice jukebox type program to run the whole system. Im talking easy album sorting, possible pictures displayed of the CD's cover art, maybe even used with a touchscreen monitor. I plan on putting this through my Peach and into the VRD's. So any help would be appreciated on the sound quality front. In terms of convenience and storage this would hands down be a great plan, but I really am not sure if I can get the quality out of it as say having a mid range CD player as I own now in the Sony ES player. Bob
  10. Hi Gang Scott 130 up for sale. I bought it off of Ebay a year ago and immediately shipped it to Craig at NosValves before using it. Craig refreshed/rebuilded with the works. Sonicaps and Russian film and foil throughout. Tubes are Telefunken 12ax7's and 12au7's in the phono section and Nos Scott branded RCA's in the line section and center channel. Its in good physical and clean shape. Only discernable cosmetic problem is a long scuff on the right side of the faceplate. All lettering is nice. I just sent it this week and had it completely gone over by Craig to make sure evertything is up to spec due to the fact that I had not used it for 6 months. He ran it on the bench, lubed up the controls and tube sockets and gave it a clean bill of health. I haven't even taken it out of the packing box after it was shipped back to me from Craig. Directly from Craigs bench to you in the box.... I am asking exactly what I have put into it. $327.50 is what I paid for it on Ebay and Craigs rebuild cost $324.11 . $650 and I will ship it Fedex 2 day air and also eat the Paypal fees. Bob
  11. What upsets me is the change where now you have to pay to have your avatar picture posted to the left of your sale caption whenever people do a search. This used to be free, and other than making more money from people having to throw more cash to post an avatar pic it makes searching for something a pain in the butt. No one pays for the avatar to be used now and when you do a search you never can see a quick picture of the item without having to click on the auction to get to a picture of the item.
  12. I absolutely love my Peach and have no plans to have it leave me. I also highly recommend it or any other JM product to anyone who hasn't heard one in their system. My only gripe on this thread was that I found a nice sound that I liked in the Bugle Boy 6dj8 but just could never find one that wasn't noisy. Just kind of a hard tube to find quiet, but it really does it for me in the sonics dept. Bob
  13. Peach user here.. I have had a TON of noise crackling issues with Bugle Boy 6dj8's. But I love the sound from them........... Have about 6 on hand and they all crackle in some way. Even one of the EI Golds that came with the Peach crackles on me. I thought it was the Peach also until I started finding quieter tubes. I recently got a pair of Brimar ecc88's that sound good and are stable and I got a CCa that currently wins the prize for lowest noise and nicest sound. I believe I have found what I am looking for with the Siemens CCa in my V1 slot and a pair of Bugle Boys or the Brimars in my V2/V3 slots. The same tubes that are noisy in my V1 slot dont show the noise when they are placed in the V2/V3 slots. Bob
  14. Bryan, I have tried a good bit of tubes in the Peach, mostly Amperex varieties though. Orange label and white label. Also I have tried a Jan Phillips which I like but also does some ringing. My favorite so far is the Amperex holand white label Bugle Boys. Thing is I have bought 3 of these and they all have some noisy scratching in them in some form, Mark calls it "popcorn noise" which pretty much accurately describes it. I love the sound though, just cant find a bugle boy without background noise yet. I have another Amperex labeled Hewlett Packard on the way, and some Brimars also coming to try that flavor. The thing I like about the Bugle Boys though if I can find a non noisy one is that they are better in the Bass department compared to other tubes I have tried so far. Bob
  15. I saw this on Audiogon and have been looking for a good tube for my V1 slot in the Peach. I didnt want to pay the premium for a CCa but this may be a good buy on a pair and I would just sell one of them for half of this price. Just curious if these tubes are just as good as a CCa before I try and buy and then split them up. http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?accstube&1142614514 Bob
  16. *deleted for doublepost* , sorry
  17. I did this about a year ago to my Chorus II's and liked the difference. Thing is all I did was replace the (2) 2uf's and the 6uf caps. Am I missing out on any goodness by having not replaced the Resistor and the other high value cap? Bob
  18. I have a Behringer DEQ2496 for sale. Original Box and Manual included. Excellent condition. For $210 I will eat Paypal fees and ship it via Fedex 2-day. Bob
