  1. When I feel down or depressed, or worried, I'll often just hang around at night. It's not that I won't be able to sleep, it's that I won't want to get to sleep.
  2. Oh please. The whole concept of organic = trash. I'll much rather eat 'golden' rice than natural one.
  3. Also, I would not be surprised there are a few unscrupulous types that'll rip'em into the computer before unloading them. Why wouldn't you?
  4. Nope... Americans are fat. Damn fat. Other countries where the average level of income is close or even higher than ours have several times less overweight people. Some states have surpassed 50% in terms of overweight population. That's insane.
  5. Sorry to hear about that. Good luck, and too bad about the dog.
  6. colter are you going to goto the photo convention this year??? I am, it would be nice to finally meet you. Also Meuge, that is a nice place, I believe my brother lives near there I forgot exactly where. The prices are crazy, how the heck did you find that place with a view for a college student!!! That must be 2000 a month atleast! Also its probably a bit lonely, why not go enjoy the outsides. And if you want me to I can bring over a 12 pack [] I am going to host an apartment-warming at some point. Send me your email addy and I'll invite you.
  7. Thanks. No, I do not have my MD yet. The program splits the MD portion into basic and clinical. I finished the first portion, and now I have to finish my PhD before I get to go back to the wards and finish medical school. It's going to be a long road... most likely another 5-6 years.
  8. The key is to pay attention to the bolded part. Everything else is bollocks, really. Americans are fat, cause for the most part, they are content, lazy, and gluttonous in all the wrong ways. We've become a culture of such a high average income, and such available luxuries that we have become fat and complacent. Does that mean you bypass the elevator and take the stairs to and fro your new cool apartment? What floor is that on anyway? Nice view, btw I am not argueing with what you said, think your right. It's on the 7th floor. And no, I don't take the stairs... but I have a very rigorous exercise schedule. I run 3 days a week, lift weights 3 days a week, and swim 1 day a week. I exercise in the morning every single day, other than the past week or so, but that was because I had injured my shoulder wrestling. I am also enrolling in Krav Maga classes at the end of the summer (can't now, due to time constraints).

  10. No, actually it's a little park between two very expensive apartment buildings (one of them seen on the left in the picture. They are located on the north and south of the block... there is a commercial strip which closes off the block on the west (which you can't see beyond the trees (the picture looks west)... and my building closes the square from the east. The neighborhood is Murray Hill.
  11. It's both. I like the city, but I do not like the rent prices. If I could, I'd probably live elsewhere and save my money. However, I am restricted to living here by my school and work: I simply cannot spare 2 hours a day for commuting. Plus, I do not like public transportation, and I'd have to take it, because keeping a car parked in the city costs $350+/month.
  12. Thanks for the kind words everybody... while I may seem kinda casual about it, I am actually feeling quite heartbroken and awkward. As I am sure all of you know, when you are with someone for that long, and you're happy for the most part, it's hard not to see that person around. But things happen. In any case, how about a daytime view:
  13. Now I feel grown up. On Wednesday is my 25th birthday... on Thursday and Friday I am taking the qualifying exam for the PhD candidate title/M.S. degree... and today is my first night in my new apartment in midtown manhattan. Unfortunately not everything is well, as myself and my girlfriend of 5 years have split up. Now I have to re-learn how to live on my own... but I can't imagine a better environment to do it. The entertainment wall: ... and for the grand effect, the view from my window this fine night:
