  1. Calvin and Hobbes indeed: "The fearless spaceman Spiff pilots his craft at speeds never before imagined! He discovers galaxies and planets never before charted! He courageously lands on alien worlds never before explored... " LOL.
  2. Shipping from Greece may be expensive for LPs as well. Not if you live in Holland. I mean not as much as it cost me to have my Heresy's shipped from Canada to Holland. Don't ever forget how lucky you guys are being so close to the source. I would drive for days if I could pick up some Belle's for a reasonable 2nd hand price. To ship those is more expensive than to buy a ship. Greetings, Tim.
  3. HiMax, if you're considering selling your records instead of trading it against that sucker... A list would be very interesting either way. Greetings, Tim. On the other hand... hundreds of albums on the forum might clog it, or be too much work. Thanks for reading this useless posting, Tim.
  4. Yes, the Heresy's are indeed enjoyed by me in Holland. What a sound, how lifelike especially with those old jazzrecords!! The speakers really brought my gear back to life. I really am a happy man. I've looked for these for a very long time and some non-US- forum members will agree that that's not easy if you're not willing to pay the ridiculous new-prices over here. When I saw this post I knew I had to go for these, don't ask me why, a feeling. I owe it to Mario that last week I could hook them up and also be a proud owner of Klipsch. He really did a lot of research and took a lot of effort to get them over here. Yes indeed I paid a lot for shipping (almost as much as the speakers themselves), but still half the price new over here and I got them in a few days and fully insured. The speakers were in perfect condition, because Mario packed them real well. I understand he's looking for K-horns now. I hope he finds them, he deserves them. A late night greeting to all of you. Tim...

  6. Ouch! Review, please! Do you know if it is available on reissue vinyl? Greetings, Tim.
  7. Well ok the active/passive story may not be very interesting, but is there no one out there who knows anything about a beard CA506? (or where to find it?) greetings, Tim.
  8. None of the available smilies can reveal how I roared with laughter. 'Stop the personal attacks'... and attack other sites! I don't think we take our hobby too seriously, I mean, what else; our jobs or the state the world is in? Please let's be serious about our hobby that consists of wisdom ánd fun and please let's take ourselves a bit less seriously. Mr. Sealed, please return to your seal, because you just got scratched.
  9. I read the postings of 'how to make a passive pre-amp' and looked at my pre-amp and remembered that my Beard CA 506 can be switched to passive or active at the front and the back and has separate volume wheels for active and passive.( ). I also realised that I haven't got a clue what the .... ( not the F-word ) those switches and knobs are for. I listen to my Grado RS1 and amp over tape-out and over my speakers (no not Klipsch yet , but I'm working on that) actively to my 300B PP power amp. So, can anyone tell me what this passive stuff is all about. 'Listen passively for dummies so to speak' (that's me). O, and I've never been able to find any inf or reviews about the CA506. Info wanted!
  10. I think you looking at the 'problem'from the wrong angle. Anyone thinking his set can not be upgraded or tweaked anymore will suffer a huge identity crisis, because he has to redetermine the meaning of life, which ofcourse until now was to listen and upgrade and listen again, etc. I think the solution is to sell your set to your shrink and start all over again! Greetings, Tim (with too much meaning in his life).
  11. Remain in light-Talking Heads Let it bleed-Stones Relaxing with The Miles davis Quartet (I think it's quintet actually) Tejas-ZZtop, **** I have lots more of those albums I either still did not understand the question or I don't play enough albums. (I don't ever play enough, for whoever doubts my intelligence) ...
  12. Happy bat day Max, 34 and there's so much more, 35 and you're still alive, 36 need a fix, 37 on your way to heaven, 38 you wait or still going straight?, 39 feeling fine.. or you tell me. I'll turn 36 next friday, help!@!!!
  13. Thanks for quick replies; BClarke: Mmm, being an absolute beginner and not knowing any good woodworker, I'd like to see and listen before I invest. Garymd: Yes, I know, I'd love to hear belles soon. Maybe little less bass, but a more balanced speaker allover? DaddyD: Belles do not need corners like Khorns do, That gives them extra points on my judgement list. This must also be for La Scalas? 3dZapper: Yeah, ok $3000,- is maybe cheap, but still a lot of money And it's a big decision to make not having seen, heard or touched them. (That's why I need you guys to help me judge and decide ) Don't forget my headphone question! No Klipschers in/around San Diego?
  14. Hello fellow Klipsch-fans! It has been a few months since I discovered this forum. Then I asked our advice over choosing between rf7's or KSP400's with my 300B PP amp. Thanks for all your replies. They did help me only to realise that heritage is more my glass of wine. Since then I listened to Heresy's and Cornwalls and fell in love. I also investigated how much it would cost me to ship the recently on this forum sold Belles to Holland by TNT... 1000,- ( ). I have to tell you guys; there is no 2nd hand market in Klipsch in Holland and new they are almost twice as expensive as in the states. It's not fair! . To cut a very long story short, I have some questions again: Who has experience shipping stuff to Europe on acceptable terms? Who has something nice to offer me? Do the Belles need the perfect corners as the Khorns do? And... something off-topic: I'm looking for a headphone, what about the tube-amped Stax or do you prefer Grado? I will also pay a short visit to the USA soon (arrival 25th of january). I will visit friends in Spring Valley, San Diego and might even take a trip up North to Portland, OR. If one of you live in the vicinity (?) of San Diego I would be thrilled to be able to come and listen to one of your set-ups. Friendly greetings, Tim. Maybe, see you soon?
  15. Thank you everybody! Of course I know I am the only one who can make the final decision, but I'm glad that so many of you responded. At the same time it has not brought me closer to my decision yet. Yes I'm still smiling, because one thing is for sure and that is that sooner or later I will have great new speakers whatever they may be. If anyone has anything to add, please do. I'll keep reading this subject and as a matter of fact other subjects on this great, but probably addictive forum. Now, to summarise a bit: KSP-400: Powered sub will handle the low-end and therefore take the load of (relatively) low-amp. rf7: Even more sensitive, bass less deep. Overall quality in midrange and high frequency better and less poignant (to put it harshly). Tony: My room is 7 by 7 meters. Leok: Tell me more about these Klipsch competitors! (if that's allowed on this site). Greetings, Tim.
  16. Hello everybody, this is my first visit to the Klipsch forum. So please consider that I'm not that creative yet in inserting images or whatever. Anyway, I have a VAA 300B (heavily modified chinese kit) in push-pull configuration which offers, they say, around 20 watts. I'm looking for new speakers and found RF7/RF5 astonishing. Of the KSP400 with active woofer likewise. Now I have to make a choice between the two very different, yet great systems. Please let me know what you think, recommendations, reviews, etc. I live in Holland, so around here advice is a little harder to find than in USA, I guess. Greetings, Tim.
