  1. Good condition, great sound, installed new networks about 7 yrs ago from Chris Munson. I am the 2nd owner they were original unfinished I received them painted black. I Have original boxes but do not want to ship. There are a couple of nicks on corners but very small, grills in great shape (refinished like new now), one of the passive cones the dust cover is pushed in but as most know won’t affect sound. Looking for $450 for the pair. If you’re near Connecticut and want to hear them we can easily set them up for an audition. Also 1 KLF-C7 used for center channel no mods, oak finish a couple small scratches on the side $175. All 3 for $550.00 or make a reasonable offer. Can meet you in a 50-75 mile radius or so of central Connecticut. Thanks Dave aka Bikeboy

  7. Stick with Forte ll or move onto Focal (826v) / paradigm Studio 100. Moving soon the Forte would be a bit cramped. The networks have been updated 6 -7 yrs ago by Chris Munson. How critical is Forte speaker placement. Has anybody compared above mentioned speakers? If I can fit them maybe it's time for more upgrades I've heard of Critesspeakers.com on this forum. One more question the grills are in good shape on the Forte's they just have a stain on them has anybody somehow refinished there grills? Lots of questions I know the bug has bitten once again. Thanks for your imput.
  8. Did a bit of homework and decided on a Music Reference RM-10 ll. Just got it on Thursday, so far I am thrilled. A few of the deciding factors were Roger extended the sale price of $500 off to me, putting it just into the upper range of what I wanted to spend (well to tell the truth I have an understanding fiancé too). Also having had an RM-9 in the late 80's with Cornwall lls I thought it would be a great match. So far I am extremely impressed. I’ll post a detailed review within the next month. PS had the EL84s upgraded to RAM Gold Loins. Thanks to all that responded. Bikeboy
  9. Hi everybody getting back into the 2 channel thing and need your help. Currently using a Marantz SR8000 with Forte ll, Networks were update 4 yrs ago by Chris Munson. Yes this is a Home Theater set up that I would like to get a bit more let's say refined 2 channel listening from. Using a Marantz DV7600 as a source for now. What I’m thinking of doing is using the SR8000 as a preamp and getting a tube amp to drive the Forte lls with. The tube amp would also be used in the theater setup so I’m thinking the vintage stuff is out for now. (Have a Scott 340A in need of rebuilding someday!). I’m thinking maybe a Jolida JD502P amp or a Quicksilver Mini-Mite Mono, Antique Sounds Labs wave AV-25 DT, PrimaLuna, and finally a Bob Latino Dynaco ST-70. Any thoughts on these amps or any others for a good everyday tube amp in $1000.00 - $1200.00 range. Sorry for being a bit long winded. I think the Tube Gods have gotten a hold of me again after all these years. Thanks Bikeboy
  10. I lucked out and found a KLF-C7 locally in like-new condition for $400. Just happen to call the local Tweeter to see if they had anything left in Klipsch center channels and one of the salesmen was selling his KLF-C7! It's a nice match for the Forte II, I'm sure the Academy would be a better match but I'm happy with the improvement and now it's time to mess with the rear surrounds. Thanks everybody for all the input. I've also learned a lot by reading the old posts on the many combos and matches of Klipsch front and center channel speakers. Bikeboy

Has the same basic Klipsch sound.. ---------------- tgw Yes it's what I may do, listened to a RC-3 II on my sys. this weekend not bad at all, much better than KV-1. That's why I thinking the RC-7 would be very good. If I could find an Academy or KLF-C7 I'd buy it. If worst comes to worst and I don't think the RC-7 sounds right, I'll find an academy and use the RC-7 for rear center when I go that route Bikeboy
  12. You guys are pushing me toward the RC-7 to match up with my Forte II. (See my post elsewhere). In my journey to replace my KV-1 I have borrowed a RC-3 II, yes most people say not a good match to Fortes but a hell of a lot better than kv-1, maybe due to the Fortes being spaced a little far from the 48" Mits than ideal the difference in sonic matching is not as big a deal. Still trying to find a Academy or KLF-C7. But I'm thinking I would be very happy with a new RC-7 after listening to the RC-3 II. Ssh you say the RC-7 worked well with the K-horns? Dave.
