  1. I've got Fortes and I have had to turn the bass down so I would not make my neighbor the sheriff mad![8o|] Check everything out for damage and make sure the speakers are at least 1 foot from the wall and should have bass down to 32 hz. How big of a open room do you have?
  2. Not bad but find it hard to believe they could destroy all but one of those books.

    The Pacific

    Nov 2 according to Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Pacific-HBO-Miniseries-Blu-ray/dp/B001VNB54A/ref=sr_tr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1278216410&sr=1-1
  4. If anyone is looking for a C7 there is one on Audiogon. I do not know the seller. http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrfull&1281548526&/Klipsch-KLF-C7-
  5. Use to have KLF 20s & C7 center with a RSW 12 in 16 x 16 x 8 room that worked outstanding!! I would think the RW 12 would be similar if not better than the RSW 12. How big of a room do you have? Someone else can comment on the newer subs out there.
  6. Soon to be 45 and I could see this future awaiting me![8-|]
  7. I went from La Scalas to Fortes and to me the Fortes sound better on most of the music I listen to![] 10% of the music I own are outstanding recordings, 10% are very good, 60% are good/okay, 20% suck. Now with La Scalas(LS) the 20% outstanding/very good sounded incredible but when I got the Fortes I realized that Fortes to me sounded better overall. Now remember I said overall, highs, midrange, and BASS. The LS midrange was better but the overall sound of the Fortes was better than the LS to me. Also another area the Fortes was better is with the 60% of good/okay recordings. On LS I never turned this section of my music up very loud, more background music. With Fortes the 60% good/okay sound soo much better than on La Scalas. So if space is a issue go with Forte/Forte II. Chorus/Chorus II are not much bigger and sound very good also. If you have more room then maybe Cornwalls.
  8. Sure why not![] Last week I stumbled upon a local Austin, TX band called PorterDavis go to their website and their album will start playing. http://www.loveporterdavis.com/fr_index.cfm Run it throught your stereo if you can! I bought the album and for a local band the recording quality is very, very good.
  9. Just found the website for a band here in Austin called PorterDavis that is outstanding, website http://www.loveporterdavis.com/fr_index.cfm go to the website and their album will play. Bottom of the page is the controls for the songs. I have it runing thru my tube DAC/Stereo and off the website sounds very good. From their website "Daniel Barrett's textured leather voice wraps so well around not only the band's own rawhide compositions ("Smack You Back," "Take the Fall") but those of Muddy Waters ("Can't Be Satisfied") and in suede tandem with Eliza Gilkyson ("Carter's Tune"). His vocals, plus slide and electric guitar, are sharply honed by drummer Mike Meadows and harp player Simon Wallace, an atypical rhythm section delivering a sound that resonates in harmony throughout Porterdavis and lingers long after the last track. --Margaret Moser, Austin Chronicle" "Simon Wallace's harmonica work sounds like a miniature horn section." --Vintage Guitar Magazine" I enjoyed this album so thought I would share. Going to buy it Sunday, support your local musicans everyone.

  11. Thanks for the review!![] I have fortes and really like them but this will give me a project to work on over the next year. I am going to have to email SET12 about what the cost was to upgrade his Fortes. Then upgrade in phases as I get the money. Off Topic here but just found the website for a band here in Austin called PorterDavis that is outstanding[Y], website http://www.loveporterdavis.com/fr_index.cfm go to the website and their album will play. 12. March 14 on HBO "The Pacific" premiers http://www.hbo.com/the-pacific?maven_playerId=pacific&maven_referralObject=6209624
  13. Hang in there hopefully the weather will improve. One year in Iceland at Hofn radar station was enough for me to decide that living in a cold place was not for me![:|] The 1 year remote tour was enough for me and finished my time in the USAF and have been in Austin since.
  14. Thanks for the review! I have not had much interest in this one cause I thought they were just trying to make money off of his death but if it is that well done I will check it out.
  15. Did not think it would be so Messy![] Of course every bit of space on it is precious and being able to float down the middle lets you store things on the floor and walls. Thanks the video gives you a better idea of how much room they have on it.
  16. I did the same thing!! I was running LS and C7 as the center (from when I had KLF 20s). The LS center was extremely better. If you have the room, money, and can find a single LS do it!
  17. When I watch a movie I always understand that it's a movie so it may have issues with the plot, writting, directing, acting, etc and give the movie some leeway and don't worry about it. But sometimes a movie goes too far in wanting me to ignore obvious(to me at least) flaws in the script or other parts. I think he was based on Giligan who would always get into the Professor's experiments. []
  18. I liked certain parts and did not like others. I liked the story except my main problem I list below. Great special effects(which is pretty typical nowdays) The main problem I had with it was the main charcter was a idiot and would not be in charge of anything except a desk, in a office, in the basement and probably not even that. I don't care if his wife was the daughter of someone high up in the company. They just played him too dumb for me to accept him in the role he played. I think also I heard too much about the movie and it could not live up to the hype I heard.
  19. My best friend does A/V installs and uses Harmony remotes and loves them also.
  20. I agree he has a great voice and style! I also liked this episode with Jimmy Wayne. http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/index.php?page=ep26
  21. Congrats to all the Bama fans! I cannot imagine the frustration McCoy must have felt to spend years getting to this game and then get nocked out minutes into the game. If the back up could almost rally for the win makes you wonder what would have happened if McCoy could have stayed in the game. That is football for ya!! At halftime and it was 24 to 6 I was afraid it was going to be another blowout but the Horns at least made a game of it.
  22. I'm running HDMI to the tv and digital audio from the PS3 to my Denon. Could be my old eyes![8-|]
  23. Last year bought a 80g PS3 and the br movies looked like a regular dvd. Kept playing with it and finally found the problem and then BR dvds looked outstanding. Had to sell that PS3 and just bought the 120g PS3 on Sat. Everything on the PS3(shows outputing 1080p in HD) and the HD tv( receiving 1080p in HD) seems correct but on about 70 percent of BRdvds look good but not BR good. GI Joe and Earth look very good but still just does not seem to match the 80g PS3 BR video. I have a Toshiba HD dvd player and need to compare the PS3 video to the HD. I'll rent the Transformer BR dvd. They both should have outstanding pics. If the PS3 does not then it is not set up right or something is wrong with it and will have to call tech support and then return it. Hope it is just something I am missing in the setup but it says it is sending 1080p hd so.
  24. I may see it in a regular theater first and then a 3d theater to see the difference, also my sister cannot handle 3d. Knowing Cameron he will figure out a way to release a 3d blueray dvd and take blueray to the next level.
  25. You can adjust output levels between the left center right speakers to match volume wise. Now if you have the money and room then just get 3 of the same speaker. When I went from KLF 20s to La Scalas I had a C7 for a center and the LS overpowered the C7 and they just did not match sound wise. Got lucky and found a single La Scala on Ebay. First dvd I played was The Incredibles and having the 3 up front sounded outstanding! If you have the room the ideal thing is 3 of the same speakers.
