Main Room: Klipsch Belle (original owner 1984) with Crites updated tweeters and crossovers, SVS PB12-Ultra/2 Sub, First Watt SIT-3 amp, PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium Preamp, Oppo 203 BlueRay / DVD/ SACD.
Office/Library: Zu Dirty Weekends (Electric Blue Maple), (2) SVS SB-1000 Pro Subs, Cary CAD 300 SEI running WE 300Bs, Denafrips Ares II DAC, B&O Beogram TX Turntable, Sony NS999ES DVD/SA-CD
Back Porch/Deck: 1 pair Klipsch Heresy I and 1 pair Klipsch Heresy II, Musical Fidelity Integrated Amp, Onkyo CD player.

When I want a change the Cary SET rotates into the Belle's setup and the SIT-3 and PrimaLuna (or a McIntosh MC33 preamp originally purchased with the Belles) heads to the office.

  1. I'm not an electrical engineer so you'll have to ask the crew at Cary Audio or Dennis Had. Attached is the owner's manual. CAD-300SEI_manual.pdf
  2. Enjoying this thread. I have never considered Decware although I have read and heard good things about them. I have 2 set-ups that I run on my Belles which I think are end game. Both are sourced by an Oppo 203 and use an SVS 2x12 1000 wpc sub. The first uses a PrimaLuna Dialogue Preamp and a First Watt SIT-3 amp (18 wpc, Class A, single ended). The PL + the SIT-3 combo approaches the midrange smoothness of an all tube system. Credit to the quality focus of the PL team and Nelsen Pass' amp design. My second setup uses a CAD-300 SEI integrated amp from Cary Audio (this was designed when Dennis Had still owned Cary). I upgraded the power tubes to Western Electric 300B's last year from WE's relatively new factory in Georgia. After 6 mos of tube burn-in this 15wpc SET amp really brings the best out of the Belles. Super smooth mids and highly resolving top end. The imaging is so impressive. This is Zen for me!
  3. This is really funny to re-read. I have just returned to the Klipsch forum after 18 years and don't remember reaching out to the forum like this. Thank you! After 15+ years running 5.1 I'm back to 2.1. The 5.1 solution I ended up with was the Belles in front on a Bryston 4B, Heresy I's in back on a Bryston 2B and Heresy IIs in the center on a Bryston 2B with an SVS PB12 Ultra2 sub. My main source initially was a Sony NS999ES SACD-DVD and later with an Oppo 203 SACD-DVD. This was an awesome setup !! The Brystons have been sold and I'm current running the Belles on either a Cary CAD300SEI integrated or PrimaLuna Dialogue/First Watt SIT3 combo. Still use the SVS and Oppo. Mac C33 replaces the PL when I want a change. Cannot get enough of the Archie Shepp Quartet - True Ballads. Just sublime!
  4. These 2 are older recordings so sound quality is OK but the performances are classic: The Doors Live at the Hollywood Bowl - Jim at his best! Eric Clapton and Friends - I get goose bumps when Phil Collins jumps on the drum kit to knock out "In the Air Tonight" and Clapton's version of Layla is epic.
  5. Thanks for the input - I think I've decided on the OmniMounts. I need to mount the Heresys above furniture on the rear wall so a stand won't work. I saw a custom center channel on one of the posts. Will Klipsch sell a tweeter, midrange and crossover separately?
  6. Appreciate the input - thanks! But size matters - and I don't have the room for another Belle, Lascala or Cornwall in the middle; what about a pair of Heresys on a beefier amp? I'm currently running the Belles and Heresys on separate Bryston 50 wpc amps - could bump the center up to 100 wpc and run a new (used) set of Heresys. What do you think?
  7. Anybody used the OmniMount 60.0 CA (or WB) to mount Heresy II's from the ceiling (wall)? I'm interested in any positive/negative experiences - gotchas, etc.
  8. Thanks for the input. I was not familiar with the Academy - sounds like I need to keep my eyes peeled on eBay for the rare chance that one appears. You're right about the challenges of keeping the RCL the same. No way would I even have room for another Belle in the middle.
  9. I have a pair of Belles that I bought in 1984 that I want to put into a 5.1 HT system for the first time. I recently purchased a pair of Heresy II's on eBay for use as the rear channel. I need a compatible center and a sub. I don't want another Heritage for the center. I've seen KLF-C7's for sale in eBay. The RC-7 was also recommended. What do you guys think? As far as a sub, I really didn't want to spend $2K but the forum seems to be pointing to Velodyne, SVS or Accoustic Visions (Denali?). Your help is needed!
  10. 1. Belles in Oiled Oak with Cane 2. Bought in 1984; age 27 3. Current age is 46 4. It was the most I could afford with MAC C33 preamp - both were $2500 in 1984 so I used the 25 watt/channel headphone amp in the C33 to drive the Belles until I could afford a real power amp. 4. Heritage was the only thing available back in those days. 5. Heresy II oiled oak with cane for 5.1 system. 6. No opinion on Jubilee - need info
