  1. I haven't tested it yet, will do that tonight. I 'm crossing at 400hz with ALK's. I probably won't be able to tell the difference without any measuring equipment, but I know I'll sleep better, knowing that I put an extra reflector there. I still have the EV in it.
  2. Remeber this, Dana...from the Classic thread? I knew I was headed in the right direction. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/5/678109/ShowThread.aspx (I cut and added the small reflector last night to my Classic. Had to remove a couple of glue blocks that were in the way.)
  3. US NAVY - 1975-2005. Now a civilian, working as a marine engineer/designer, designing electrical systems for US navy ships. So, I'm still working for the navy, in some ways.
  4. damon, check your email, i sent you a copy of roy's article "tractrix horns".
  5. There's a thunderstorm here in VB. I'm logging out. Now, that'll be a real "zero" online from this end.
  6. Same here, Dana. I got your email. The more you simplify this drawing, the better it gets. ALS
  7. I didn't post until I got a "go" signal from Gil. I emailed him saying that my posts/theme would still be about the Jubilee and relates to what the professor is doing, and provide some entertainment at the same time. In a second email I told him that the band would be just waiting for the professor to get done and see the results of his efforts, just like what we're doing now, before they use the EV driver. That's it. Maybe I got carried away trying to be humorous, and it's not working out . There is definitely nobody getting entertained from what I can see, maybe my jokes suck . It's the wrong thread and maybe the wrong forum. Gil, I'm sorry, it won't work. I'm pulling the plug on this one. Thanks, Michael.
  8. I'm sorry, it's took too long to recall the band. I couldn't contact two members. I finally did, and learned a new meaning for .......crossing over.......
  9. Flemming sent me an email and said that it wasn't a "booming" but more of an increase in loudness somewhere in the 150-200hz range. He was using 10 sec test tones. He thinks it is more from room resonances, and not from the V2.
  10. JC, My vote is for Dana's V2.!! It's a lot SIMPLER to build. We know that some design elements of the Khorn needs to be improved, altered or modified. The V2 has already done those. I have some horn designs of my own, but if I have to build somebody else's design, it will be the V2. Check Flemming's. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/thread/743652.aspx
  11. If I have to spend the money, (as little as I have) it might as well be on the good parts. You got a good collection of schematics and data sheets, don't you? You must have been really busy gathering all of those. Thanks again, buddy.
  12. This one (plastic, and contents) is intended for ALK's universal A low freq section. The 2.4 mH coil fits just right. I might have to use Erse inductors for my version of the X8, and smaller air cores for the X36. No, Bob. I will not use tar, I promise. Where can I get some good wax, though? Armando
  13. The one on the right is an X8. It's a steel enclosure, not too good for air cores. And the coils, I don't know if you can see them clearly, are parallel to each other. Not good. The one on the left is a plastic connection box for electrical wiring from Lowe's.
