  1. guaranteed it is better. the sub-80 I had was a POS. So could you answer this for me? Realizing it is just subjective... Which hits harder at ~20-25hz and which hits harder at 30+hz. I'm sensitive to setting them both up b/c my current setup is completely unoptimal. Roomsize is 20x35x10.5 and many open doors + the sub isn't corner loaded and too close to the back wall.. My future media room will be 10x14 and completely closed off. Too complicate matters... I already have a monitor audio asw210 (2x10 drivers) that I bought for "musical" purposes. Of course I want to keep both of them and eventually have them set up for mo' bass.
  2. Thanks I bought my RSW from them.. I didn't see the Deftech supercube reference in their shop.. Appreciate your insight on the two though. A long time ago I had a deftech sub80 or something small 10" with 200 watts and it was very muddy and boomy with not much hit. Is the supercube ref. simiilar?
  3. well the local store found a replacement for my doa RSW15. Picked it up tonight. My placement isn't ideal by far close to my 55" TV and center of the room and only about 8" from the wall. How much for a deftech and who has the reference series in stock in dallas?? The store that carries the RSW carries RSW, but it doesn't have the higher end deftech stuff. Thanks for the input!
  4. Seems like the RSW-15 is eternally backordered... anyway I saw hyabusa(sp?) state the supercube is deep&loud. That intrigues me but does it hit or is it muddy? I've heard the rsw-15 and it felt like it hit, however, it felt like it could go a little lower. I guess I am referring to the supercube reference series with the 14" driver vs. the others... I guess my question is... what is the SPL like at 20hz vs 60hz as compared to the rsw-15. Thanks a bunch! Also what is going price?
  5. just tried - didn't work. guess they have some qc issues. it's not like its a $100 boom box...
  6. where was this suggested for the rsw12? did it work??
  7. Yep - I know that these things happen. Just don't have to like it. Got it at Ultimate Electronics and there are not any more in the Dallas area. He is currently talking to the Colorado distributer to figure out how to get me another...
  8. Just got an rsw-15 from my wife for my b-day and it is doa out of the box! Checked the fuse, etc. my existing sub worked out of the same outputs and power. WTF? POS? she had to drive all around Dallas to get it and it doesn't work. A) can someone suggest something that I can check? (fuse looks fine). can a klipsch rep, tell me where in Dallas I can get one sooner than later? thanks, Brentis
  9. Yep - it was likely mis configured b/c they couldn't figure out how to get the sub to play in stereo mode on the receiver. Only in DTS & such. I'm getting a pretty good deal from Ultimate Electronics. $1399. Seems reasonable for a brick & mortar store.
  10. good feedback. I went and heard the RSW-15 tonight. From recollection, I'd say the HGS-12 had a nice crisp thump down low without as much air movement/rumble. Could be just memory.. I still think I'm going to get the Klipsch from a price/availability/and air movement perspective. Thanks.
  11. I've been looking for a subwoofer for an new subwoofer for quite some time. I currently have a Monitor Audio ASW210 (2 10" drivers) and purchased it for its musical capabilities. I made the mistake of thinking I would be happy with it in a large room vs. the one that it in when I auditioned it... I've found the Velo HGS-12 to be pretty impressive, however, it is pricey and now hard to find. My question is how does the RSW15 compare? The limited information I've found says it is a bit punchy up around 60 hz which I think could make my system a bit off balanced. I really want this subwoofer for HT explosions and such and don't want it bottoming out every couple of minutes like my asw210. From a ranking perspective would you rank these subs in this order? 1) HGS-18 2) RSW-15 3) HGS-15 4) HGS-12 ?? As long as the RSW-15 hits harder (with little distortion) than the hgs-12 I think I would be in good shape. Thanks!
