  1. Thank you. I’ll give them a call. Called: 9-month backlog. Good for them, bad for me.
  2. I am having what I believe is a power switch/wiring issue with a tube mono block and am wondering if anyone can recommend a good repair person in the SLC/Provo area who can also test the tubes? Thanks so much!
  3. Thanks for the input, everyone. Picked them up yesterday!
  4. Thank you very much. I'll email you now!
  5. Looking for Klipsch La Scala Vintage Speakers In the Salt Lake City / Provo area Let me know what you have. Thanks!
  6. I'm looking for the easiest way to use speaker cables with large spades on my 1978 Klipschorns, with the AA crossover. We use the Bob Crites replacement crossover, to be specific. From what I read here, mounting binding posts to the crossover board seems to be a very good method, but appears to require a little bit of prep/customization. Maybe I'm wrong (someone tell me, if so). I live in an apartment, and have no space/tools for making this. Is there anyone who would be willing to help me out in this regard? I would of course pay for the parts, and work out something for your time as well. Thank you, Howard Sacramento, CA
  7. 1977 La Scala's Horns dampened with Dynamat Re-wired with DH Labs wiring AA Crossover In excellent condition. A few nicks and chips here and there, but just about the best vintage pair I've seen in quite some time. I'm in Sacramento, and can help with a Bay Area delivery. I can get one of them in my car. Unless a buyer is taking care of ALL arrangements, I will not ship them. Thanks for looking. We're only selling them because we got a pair of Klipschorns. See Feedback on Audiogon/e-Bay for boa2 $990 ($1025 with PayPal)
  8. Could someone tell me the exact spade size that is used on the vintage crossover boards? I may have a pair of speaker cables made, and I want to be sure I get the correct size spades. Otherwise, I may just put some binding posts on the crossover board. Thank you.
  9. I'm ordering the wire/connectors now, and he wants to know the size of the spade terminations for connecting to the crossover. Are they 1/4"? Thank you all, again.
  10. I am going to have my father-in-law re-wire our newly purchased Klipschorns, since he is in the NW, and won't be able to deliver the speakers to us in CA for several months. I'm going to send him the wire and connectors. Can anyone tell me how many feet of wire I should send, along with the # & type of connectors so that he can do the job? I am also going to have him re-route the left speaker binding screw plate to the inside panel, so please keep that in mind should that mean I need an extra foot or two of wire. Finally, when he wires the woofer, is there anything he should look for as far as inspecting them? They are 1978, one-owner, and apparently are in excellent condition by all accounts. Thank you for the help. Howard
  11. Last year, I drove from Sacramento to Seattle (13 hours) and back to pick up a pair of La Scala's.
  12. Hi Dylan, Howard here. I spoke with your Dad about those Khorns, and I thought he was going to get me shipping figures. He mentioned the veneer, but didn't say anything about the price going up because of it. If he/you happen to get shipping costs to 95814, I'd be curious to know. Thank you very much.
  13. Thanks for all of the input, and the encouragement. My wife and I are really wanting a pair of the K-horns, at which point we'll likely sell our La Scala's. Fini, Granite Bay, huh? My sister lives there, so I'll tell her to keep her eyes peeled for a pair. I need such a great find. I'll keep looking. I'm willing to drive anywhere in the state, and even to neighboring states, but I'm a little wary about getting a pair shipped across the country, which would also be rather costly. I really appreciate all of the input. Thank you.
  14. I'm looking for a good pair of older Klipschorns--preferably around the late 1970's model. Would be willing to drive a ways to get them. I live in Sacramento. If anyone knows of a pair for sale, please tell me. And if you have any particular suggestions about which ones to buy, I welcome them as well. I currently have a pair of 1977 La Scala's, and am looking for something that will not only play my SET amp well, but accommodate my wife's penchant for rock. I can be reached directly at howardparr@hotmail.com Thank you very much.
