  1. Not that I can see me ever selling but more than likely I would look to the garage first as a sales opportunity. At least here who else would know more about the listing of Klipsch speakers particularly when crossover, driver, horn upgrades have been installed. This would be my logical first stop. Or my wife's as she would need to sell once I passed to Horn Forum in heaven. They ain't leavin' till then.
  2. TSMatt/Craig Seeing the faceplate photos several times on the Forum Matt just confirmed what I thought, the plates are acid etched. It's a reverse negative film process requiring film plates and acid baths. My company had a small division that did acid etching for supplying cutting tools for paper. Nearly all the labels you see in the market and particularly those with complex shapes are cut with thin die plates that were acid etched from the original CAD drawings. That's a particularly good idea Matt in order to achieve the unique complicated 3D relief shapes you were looking for. Are you using stainless?
  3. May I ask - what flavor of QS did you choose? I owned 25 watt Horn Monos a while back, nice amps.
  4. Maybe I'll get the full effect in Hope?
  5. I have no point just thought to add a bit of levity. In the future ill try to keep more to the point, wouldn't want to ruffle anyone's feathers.
  6. Just curious - should I assume your wife has no idea what you post on a "speaker" forum? I mean what could you possibly say to a bunch of guys about speakers that would possibly interest her?
  7. What Zim said - make plenty of room to keep the boxes, send me the Jubes(:
  8. Similar to this we have a Kirby. Big, heavy, all metal US made. Has a self propel gearbox which makes the weight of the unit a non-factor. Has a bunch of attachments even for carpet shampoo. They ain't cheap but seem to be worth the money. About 6 years old and still sucking(: -
  9. I have for sale a Denon DP790 Direct Drive, fully manual table in remarkable condition for its late 1970's age. Had been put away in its OE box since the early '80's to be brought out a few weeks ago. After buying a Parks Budgie preamp I found vinyl not to be thing after all these years. The table base is a true 9/10, the cover has typical swirls but very clean, clear, no cracks an 8/10. The 790 has the adjustable +- speed control for its 33 and 45RPM settings. Runs perfectly and with direct drive no extra parts to fool with. Along with the table is a Micro Seiki straight arm with lift control with a Denon 103d MC cart. I have looked and cannot find the model number for the arm but it is a superb Seiki arm, professionaly installed years ago. I cannot speak for the condition of the sylus but in limited play sounded very good. Heavy rubber turntable pad and disc stabilizer included. If I can find it I think I even have a Ortofon cart I will throw in. This is a Classic Denon of Japan table, one anal owner. $675 + double box shipping, US only.
  10. Mark - you and your better half are of a higher intellect(: Bravo
  11. OK You Win - those look really nice. Great skills too.
  12. Pzannucci - I'm scared to death to rid myself of Class A SS and/or tubes for Class D, Class T(tripath), gain clone, etc. Although the Claa A monos are eating me out of house and home energy wise. I tried a Wyred amp a few years ago and it was nothing I felt the need to keep. But I've been thinking that way again with the many advances over the last few years. I do like the idea of keeping Class D fired up 24/7 and ready to play. I have tried that with Class A for maybe two-three-four days straight and my power bill goes up nearly 20%. And as good as I felt Class A sounded with my KHorns I'm slowing realizing tubes are actually the better fit.
  13. No, no - leave the dog house exposed. For me that is the real eye catcher and defining feature of the LS. Love the cane top grills. With bottom grills it becomes a Belle wanna' be. Naked bottoms, covered tops - hmmmm that can be taken more than one way(:
  14. Prematurely rude is sometimes like premature ejaculation - it can't be helped.
  15. Congratulations on 23 years, well done. Twenty three ain't bad but how about the 35 years I've racked up? Oh - I forgot - that's for three wives. My bad --- carry on(:
  16. Balanced Power Technology (BPT) is recognized name and they use a massive toroidal transformer. I doubt they are too far from you location wise, I believe around the St Loius area. These are line conditioning only, no battery back up. Blue Circle is another which I currently use for CD/preamp and tube amps. I plug my SS Class A monos directly to wall outlet. They would most likely work within the parameter of the BC but their current in rush on turn on leads me to use the dedicated 20 amp wall outlets. You can spend some real $$$ on this type of accessory so do your homework.
  17. Gawd I hope not BigStew. Should that be the case with my daily consumption, as I currently nurse a cup, I would have kidney stones the size of my head. I can only imagine that would be painful to pass(: Probably by C-section I'm thinkin'!!

    What I Got Today!

Nice looking piece. I have always been a fan of the 9mm, but of course the .40's are all the rage right now, police departments, etc. The exception is the FBI has gone back to 9mm. The FBI "will" be returning to the 9mm at a cost to taxpayers roughly 80 million$$. This, after determining years ago the 9 wasn't enough fire power in favor of the .40. The Secret Service carries Sig P229 in .357Sig. Son is a LEO and carries Glock .40.
  19. My godd man, I thought I went through gear quicker than shitt through a goose but your pace makes me look like a piker(: It's the same with me and motorcycles, just like to experience the many varied flavors of each (audio, bikes). I've finally slowed considerably on both fronts.
  20. Matthews, if I may what is the retail $$$ for the pair? And what tubes were supplied? Thanks
  21. Found this site - WAJ on Audio - with some very good reading on all things audio. Don't know the identity of WAJ is but seem very insightfull and open minded. Very good impressions of our beloved Klipschorn and how a "realistic" sounding speaker should be judged. Check it out - -http://wajonaudio.webs.com/The Ultimate Speakers are Within Reach.html
  22. Dentist apt. here tomorrow, 12 o'clock high noon. Nothing as agressive as Tarheel, cleaning only. In and out. Very blessed with good choppers (:
  23. Yes, yes you are. Six to eight cups of steaming goodness daily (:
  24. OK +++5 I'm with you all the way T2K, any day.
  25. Are you sporting the infamous Cozy Coupe woofer in that rig? I understand they dig deep with Al's networks!
