  1. I too was anxious to try on pair of '75's to the point of buying a pair on AGon. Our friends at UPS thought they would play "toss the box" so on arrival one speaker box had a large rattle from inside the speaker itself. Yep snapped the driver off the plastic horn. I amcan only imagine what the xover looked like! I may try again one day --
  2. Just for craps and grins I went to the Klipsch website as I remembered they had a listing of the Heritage line. According to Klipsch, the Heritage models are - (I added one too many, Belles not listed) --- Klipschorn LaScalla Cornwall Heresey
  3. Not being argumentative but is the Jubilee actually part of the "original" Heritage line? I always thought - Klipschorn LaScalla Belle Cornwall Heresey
  4. Ok so I buy new Class A monblocks and a First Watt B1 buffered dual volume control. Initially the amps, through KHorns by the way, were very quiet which is a must for me. I started moving things around, installed new isolated duplex wall plugs and they started humming loud enough to irritate me. So now I'm changing everything, interconnects, power cords, old duplex's back in and still they hummed. I had just bought a few cheater plugs (3 prong female, two prong male into the wall). Quiet as a mouse. I thought if you used a three prong plug from a quality power cord into a three prong wall outlet you were golden. It seems like I'm working backwards inserting a $.69 adapter to the end a couple or three hundred $$ power cord to quiet things down. But it worked - why?
  5. animal sacrifice? yeah, the soon to be "Norm" in living in the OC, you will see....... if the OC dont kill ya first! i heard that one of the eateries on main street huntington beach, had an animal sacrifice before it opened a several years ago. place ain’t there no more, so clearly animal sacrifices don’t work.i’ll make it out of here alive...just watch. That is what my last Bud said 24 years ago, and he died just before i moved up north.Everyone i grew up with is dead. For many reasons, no two the same, but one thing in common, The OC lifestyle. OK MinerMark and BigStew Please explain to this Midwestern boy the OC lifestyle. Orange County right? I've travelled there for business many times, never an issue. What is this lifestyle you refer?
  6. Jerol, see my post above. Yes indeed you did, thanks. Like I told BigStew, maybe we will meet again next year.
  7. Thanks StewMan - a long day and amazingly well behaved for a crowd of this size. I'm talkin' about a sea of people. The Giants - your run ain't over yet. How about a re-match next year but keep Bumgardner at home!! And speaking of the Giants I just read that they ordered and sent 25 pizzas to the Royals front office with a congratulations and have fun planning the parade. Very nice sportsmanship.
  8. Well I spent the day with my wife, stepson, daughter-in-iaw and Grandson Karter and oh, about an estimated 250-300,000 Kansas Citians celebrating the Royals World Series victory with a parade. Never seen so people in my life, unbelieveable.
  9. Right you are Jo56, right you are. Nailed it --
  10. Nice retort Scrappy, the Royals earned it, they are a better team than the Mets. The Royals "pressured" the Mets to beat themselves. Lousy defense, lousy bullpen, lousy team chemistry.
  11. What's up - in KC it's the Royals winnig the World Series 4-1. Lets Go Royals!
  12. Hey Doc - yeah I've heard that. And if they win 3 out of the next 3 I will be the first to acknowledge that. My hopes are certainly high but no, it ain't over. But I would much rather need to win one of the final three rather than all three. They do have their 3 Aces coming up, not an easy task.
  13. Royals up 3-1. Mets gotta' win all three remaining games. Gonna' be tough.
  14. Trick or Treat - Let's Go Royals Home runs alone won't beat this team - ya' gotta catch the ball too - Or They Will Getcha' One more tough game to go. Royals up 3-1. As much as I'd like to make a Grand on my game 6 tickets I'll greatfully take a win tomorrow in the Big Apple.
  15. Joe Dennis quoted me somewhere around $2300 for his 45amp/preamp combo. I believe the preamp for this was based around the vintage 76 tube, he is big on bringing back older tube types into his new circuits. I passed as regardless that my KHorns can run on as few as the 2 watts the 45 provides it is my feeling, and my ears, that they sound better with bigger power, much fuller throughout the spectrum. Please don't hold me or Dennis to this price as I believe I got a "discount" for being a past customer and we were just discussing the possible project.
  16. Dennis' amplifiers go under the name of "Inspire by Dennis Had". A few of his pieces have "Firebottle" on the face plate. I have spoken with Dennis several times and while to me this seems more than just a retirement hobby I don't think he has Ana Drupal website. He offers a few pieces here and there on the 'Bay.
  17. Yep that is it other than it appears to run 6v6 output tubes rather than the KT66/KT88 as mine uses, 6/12 watts respectively. However with his designs Dennis' amps can use various output tubes by a change of the rectifier. When I change from the 66's to the 88's I just pop in a different rectify tube.
  18. Since you have already investigated/ordered your chosen amp I can almost assure you it won't be your last. You might want to give a look see to Dennis Had and his "Firebottle" line of SE amps. In case you are not familiar Dennis was founder/president of Cary Audio for many years, now retired making these boutique amps as a "hobby". Dennis could well be the foremost authority on single ended amp design as well as other amp configurations. Although I own one I don't consider myself biased, it's just a nicely priced and great sounding amp. I use mine in rotation with several other amps both tube and sand. Just something you might want to consider as you move forward.
  19. I've said it once before when this question pops up, if you can run the cable through a 1/2 inch garden hose than it is too small and will not carry enough current to satisfy hungry speakers. Something about the girth of a medium to large boa constrictor is about right. Keep them off the floor or Bad things can and will happen. Escaping electrons are evil critters. Kidding aside I use Beldens best OFC cable 1311A Brilliance. The best audio cable they make and made for audio. Steps above what others offer such as Blue Jean.

    What I Got Today!

After owning various Class A SS amps I've wanted to head back that direction to couple with the KHorns. Well I found a mint (llooks like they were just pulled off the build line) pair of Forte/Threshold Model 7 pure Class A monoblocks, 75 watts/side, a Nelson Pass product design when he was associated with Threshold. All paper work, boxes, sales brochures, got it all. Have about three CD's through them and my gosh do they sound good?! Why yes, yes they do. They do the Class A/monoblock sound in spades.
  21. I mean - you can't make this stuff up. Down 4 in the 7th, win by 3. See ya at The "K" Wednesday.
  22. Problem fixed A quick check on the interweb found this a common iPhone scam used to bilk idiots, nearly was me, out of $60-80 USD for a fix. Although this happened on an iPad not iPhone the software is still Aplle iOS.
  23. I really can't say, I was researching a Forte Model 5 amplifier, might have been audio review? Really don't know. I have nothing on the machine that would need backup. This is only a surfing playtoy. I would have to think backl a bit but there is nothing on the machine that would be lost.
  24. So I'm researching an amplifer (imagine that) click a site then immediately screen goes to blue and - "Warning!! iOS crash report Due to third party on your phone?ios has crashed. Contact support for immediated fix" First this is an iPad not an iPhone, the header box for this "fix" is http://funnyquote.info I have not gone to this site for fear of infecting my iMac. My iPad is locked solid, nothing, even after shutting off several times. But I can still play solitare. Blue warning screen is all that shows and the screen is totally unresponsive to the touch. Experts - any ideas - please. Thanks
