Hi Richie, are they black or silver? And yes it would mean something to me. Also and you have probably told me before who built them?

    Hey E

    They are all black.
Sorry, don’t remember the fellas name but at the time he had a boutique business doing this work. I know he sold many

    amps in that time frame.
From what I understand they are a relatively simple build and they have been flawless since day one.

  2. Reputed as the “best sounding” of the nCore series, the 400. Professionally built in Ghent chassis, XLR (balanced) output(s).

    Into 8 ohms - 200 watts; into 4 ohm - 400 watts. SMPS 600 power supply / each block.

These are in excellent, near perfect condition and have seen little to moderate use while rotated with other amps.

Ultra quiet on the largest Klipsch horns, as in silent. Cool running, low power draw and recommended powered on 24/7.

Im having no luck logging on the site from my desktop, several pics can be sent to interested parties email.

And of course the ever popular question - why selling? Simple - too many amps, plain and simple.

    $1100 / shipped, insured.

    Thank you

    R

That’s me: SM East, Rockhurst (when it was a college) and then KU. 135th was where we went to Jess & Jims, to the State Lone Drive-In and took flying lessons at the airport. Nothing but your cows in any direction for miles.

Rockhurst? It’s a university, highly regarded. Daughter received her MBA and Doctorate there  —

Nope; but I remember when looking south from 95th street the world ended & the Hall’s cows were all along State Line after 103d...

    — right you are. An old JoCo boy like me it sounds. We’re souther than that, Miami County.
Depending on your last visit Metcalf South is no longer. 135th is a main E-W corridor now. JoCo is approaching a

    population of 700k.

Rats, if you had said 25 miles SE of cowtown I’d jump on it.

    — I know people. That property too can be arranged -

You ain’t makin’ fun of my cows are you ? 🐄

  6. — hows’bout this then -

I’m about 50 miles S of KC and have for sale 4 acres of prime Midwest Coastal beachfront property, full utilities and infrastructure,

$250K/acre. Selling as one plot = $1M large. Photos and survey sent after receipt and deposit of funds. The water is beautiful this time of year -

  7. Just last night we attended a jazz show in one of the smaller halls at the local junior college. Smaller compared to others in the complex but huge compared to home settings. I am constantly comparing my modest Jube rig to these live settings. It is an impossibility to replicate these enormous interior volumes to normal rooms, don’t care how they are “treated”. Ceilings of 40-50 feet, a 200 head capacity - its apples to watermelons. I do find the Jubes do remarkably well with un-amplified jazz quartets - sax/trumpet, upright bass, drums, piano.

    — Let me add that in hoping to replicate live sound at home I think if you can replicate the nuance of tone from individual instruments from your rig you’re getting to the heart of it. I’ve read and believe if you can closely replicate live acoustic, non-amplified,  piano you’re getting there. Upright bass and sticks striking drum heads are another. You are at the mercy of volumetric acoustics when hoping to replicate concert hall space.

    @richieb

I was visiting fam in Indiana. Telling my BIL II was planning on stopping in MO to do some fishing. He cautioned me about the hill folk. I mulled that over a few and laughed.... I am a "hill folk".

We don’t live all that far from MO “hill folk”. Stay on the periphery and you’re good. Heading deeper into the hills, hearing banjos in the distance is the first clue you’ve gone far enough. You’re pretty much on your own after that -

I have not heard the Ares, but you’ll want to upgrade eventually so why not get the better dac out of the gate? I have thought about the Venus a couple of times,    but even people who have owned both say the Pontus is the sweet spot and the Venus is only a marginal step up.

I shouldn’t comment as I use the RME dac and never have heard a Denafrips model. I say this from my seeming constant watching the USAudiomart sight. I have seen many Ares model on the secondary market. Many —

  11. Ironic post this. Just me and the wife, two full chest freezers, two refrigerator/freezers. After having to nearly unload a freezer while on the hunt I said we have enough I need to stop buying. When bacon, steak, chicken etc. is on sale I buy. The return on sale item food is better than the stock market. And with continuing rising prices it just makes sense to buy low, eat high  —

Powers that be will soon see this discussion as “political” in nature.  Little to no room is allowed these days. Deviate off the centerline and the lanesense warnings activate. A friend told me this - 😎

but why does this result in the value of the coin plummeting?  If the same thing happened with US currency, a dollar would still be worth a dollar, and people would want it just as much.

    — because a US dollar IS a dollar, respected currency the world over. Few people know what a crypto coin really is or it’s intrinsic value. I certainly don’t nor do I pretend to -

Add book matched veneer to the 396 ll, skip Chorus lll, go straight to Chorus lV to round out the lV lineup. You’re welcome -
