  1. Can't say that I have...I really enjoy the experience of going to a shop, annoying the employees, asking them very difficult if not impossible questions, and then choosing my own bottles, but then, that's just me.
  2. Verified with the seller that they are in fact Fastrac horns, and they have Crites CS500 crossovers.
  3. Yes, and apparently some high grade components as well. Even the internal insulation taken from an original Cornwall was beautifully installed.
  4. Uh oh....cork and bottle/vinyl and digital......I see a detour ahead.....
  5. It does appear that these were intended for an EV Regency cabinet. If you have a nice mahogany Regency laying around in the kid's toy box or next to the hot tub, let me know. Speakin' of hot tubs.....lousy video, but still pretty funny.
  6. Thanks. I got an original catalog and a 1981 "Dope from Hope" letter along with the set. Very cool.
  7. Depends on whether the Martini is Napa, or Sonoma viticultural. Will say on the label. If it's Napa, it's over $20, if it's Sonoma, it's under $20. Both are good, but the Napa is consistently excellent.
  8. At this point in time, I think some producers are placing twist tops on wines that they think would/should be consumed in a relatively short time frame, which makes a lot of sense to me, but, you are right, something as "small" as a twist top again hurts the image, even if it's a practical decision.
  9. Read something not too long ago that Costco was the largest retailer of wine in the US. Now, their selection is minuscule compared to Total Wine or the other huge shops, but I have found their pricing to be quite a bit better. If you take your time to look around Costco's wine section, you will occasionally find some really good bargains, particularly on Spanish/Portuguese/Australian reds. I've lived on both the East and West coasts, as well as the Pacific NW, and you folks are very fortunate to have the great selections available to you. I will agree with Stephen that environmentally and economically, boxed wine "should" make sense to producers and consumers. But, and this is a "big but"....there have been many studies and surveys that have shown that consumers will not let go of the bottle and cork. It has been ingrained so deeply that a bottle and cork signify a "good" or at least "decent" wine, and that boxes are junk. Producers continue to struggle with the perception and have tried all sorts of different things to start a change in a different direction, but so far with very limited success. Sure, you've seen a rise in packaging other than glass in the last decade or so, but go to even your local grocery store, stand in front of the wine shelves and look at the percentage taken up by box vs. bottle. Plus, one last thought...I have actually tried to find a hearty red in a box that I could drink regularly, with zero success. If anyone has a serious recommendation, please let me know, I would give it a shot....
  10. I believe it was a DIY project. It's well done as you can see, mounted on a very heavy 3/4 ply board which is covered in a nice almost cane-like fabric. I will have to try and find out where it was originally intended to go. I already have an EV Aristocrat with mahogany cabinet, and an EV Regency with mahogany cabinet as well. I think there's a possibility that this will also go into a Regency, but I'll have to take a look....Which means of course that I'll need another cabinet....WAF is going fast.....
  11. Cmon Michael, find the posts and show us the photos..us newbies need to see them too...
  12. Today I "inherited" a fully mounted motorboard that had never been installed of an EV set of drivers, horns, and crossovers...Motorboard and components only, no cabinet...dang...anyway, here's the list of components. I have no idea of their worth, rarity, historical value, etc. Everything is in really good condition. Hoping someone can help out or point me in the right direction. SP-15 Woofer T25A mid and horn T35 tweeter X6 crossover X36 crossover All controls (pots and wiring) All mounted on a thick board with a fabric face, original
  13. Ahhhh, aquaponics....sounds deliciously illegal....everywhere but Colorado and Washington state......
  14. Yep, pretty good tool, but apparently has some issues....not sure why, going to try and isolate it tomorrow....been a rough day....

    Altec VOT's

Well, I know for sure that those VOT thingies are pretty poorly made and really cheap, so I can't imagine anyone being interested, and I'm sure they're overpriced.....
  16. Well, I don't blame you to a degree....they vacillated between great, really good, and not so good. Mostly great in the early days in the live recordings. Some of the studio recordings were really good, but only select tracks from Eat a Peach and Brothers and Sisters.
  17. Odd thing, I use Searchtempest, and these didn't show under a plain "Klipsch" search.
  18. From one of the best blues/rock albums of all time....
  19. Oh Good Lord no....I don't think any of us would want to see that....Great video though...gotta love the outfits and the hair!!
  20. You are kidding, right? I mean, you didn't start a thread in the main forum, you started a sh*tstorm, and now this? Really?
  21. Craig, see what an offer of a bottle of wine can do? Jeez, more help than you could have ever imagined....(wanted....needed.....). Now, offer to do shots of good tequila, and watch the worms come out of the woodwork!!
  22. Dear Sir/Madam/Little Boy, You need to take your attitude and obvious lack of knowledge elsewhere. Either that, or continue with your uneducated rants and you will be banned permanently from this forum. I can just about guarantee it.
