  1. Christmas came early for me. I just got a Mitsubishi 65" 1080p DLP. Lovin' it.
  2. I have had my BFD incorporated in my system for several months now and just recently I've starting rethinking the way I went about calibrating it. I bought the BFD to tame the peaks in my room at the low frequencies. The first thing I did was figure out which frequencies needed to be dialed down. The way I did this was by playing 1/6 octave test tones from 16Hz to 160Hz. I ran the tones from the DVD player through my receiver in "Stereo" mode. Is this the correct way to do it? My initial thought was that playing the test tones in "Stereo" would help my control the frequencies around the crossover point (80Hz). But, now that I have put some more thought into it, would it make sense to run the test tones in another mode such as Pro Logic? I mean if I calibrated it in "stereo" mode, what happens when I am listening to somehting in Multichannel? Also, I think that Denon receivers run the mains as full range when in "Stereo" mode regardless of the large vs. small setting in the OSD menu. Any thought? For those of you that are using EQ's or a BFD for your sub, what playback mode did you use when playing the test tones?
  3. I currently drive an 04 Infinit G35. If money were no object I would choose a Range Rover supercharged for my daily driver.
  4. rplace, the picture above the TV is actually level, sort of an optical illusion with the vaulted ceiling. On top of the speakers are little statues that my fiance added. I can't say that I'm a big fan of them, but a little female influence is never a bad thing. Also, the pictures on the right sided wall were painted by myself and fiance. We saw how to do it on Trading Spaces of one of those TLC home remodeling shows.
  5. Here's an updated pictures of my front array. The room was bare before, now I've added some cosmetic touches.
  6. Anyone watch Monday Night Football last night and notice something strange about the audio? My reciever picked up the Dolby Digital signal and my on screen display showed "3/2/1" as if all 5 channels were active, but there was only sound coming through the mains. I switched to another channel HD channel and I was receiving the DD signal just fine, only ABC was had the problem. There must be some issue with ABC itself or my local provider. BTW, I have Cox digital cable in Phoenix. Anyone else notice this?
  7. I spoke with the dealer that shipped the speaker and they are just going to swap out the damaged one with a new one. I decided that I will just make the trip to the dealer and pick it up instead of using UPS. Unfortunately, the dealer had to order another RC-7 from Klipsch since he didn't have one in stock. Needless to say, I'm relieved that the dealer is being so helpful and not making me jump through hoops to get this resolved.
  8. This is looking through one of the ports at the magnet that snapped of the woofer.
  9. Took pictures of the damage. This is the smashed cabinet.
  10. It was shipped in the original manufacturer's box, so I would consider that adequate packaging. Reading on the UPS web site, they recommend the shipper file the claim with UPS. If that is the case, I would think that I could be left out of the whole claim process. The shipper is an authorized dealer that is about 45 minutes away from my house, so I could drive there and drop off the damaged speaker. Hopefully, they could supply me with a new speaker and do whatever they need to do with UPS and leave me out of it.
  11. Hi there, My fiance, being the cool chick that she is, bought me an RC-7 for my birthday. It is from an authorized dealer, but was shipped to my house. Anyway, after delivery I noticed the box was a bit beat up, but didn't look too bad. I opened the box, took out the speaker, and I heard something inside the cabinet rolling around. I looked through one of the ports on the back and saw taht the magnet structure from one of the woofers was completely broken off. Also, one of the cabinet corners was smashed. I called UPS to file a claim and they are going to pick it up on Monday. I don't really know the claim process, but I'm sure it won't be resolved anytime soon. My question is, should I contact the shipper to see if they can do anything about it? Perhaps it was damaged during shipping from the manufacturer. I've been waiting to get the RC-7 to replace my RC-3 for a long time now. I guess I'll be waiting even longer.
  12. Thanks for the reminder. I've been there several times and I'm leaving for Vegas tomorrow for my bachelor party.
  13. "BOSE!? For the love of all that is holy it is your RESPONSIBLILITY as a friend to MAKE SURE he doesnt waste his money like that. Send him here please!" I know, I know. When he told me, I said "Whatever you do, do not spend your money on that crap" He said, but it sounded good and it's only going in the bedroom.
  14. garymd, that is actually a really good idea. I'm gonna go that route.
  15. "Be happy for your friend! I mean, he could have come home with some cubes..." It's funny you should mention that. He is actually wanting to get some Blose for his bedroom.
