  1. I sent you a PM a few days ago.
  2. Late to the discussion. I first heard Khorns in 1977, dreamed about them for decades and finally got a used set last year. I am listening to them near field with a 45wpc push pull tube amp and a very nice tube preamp. I could not be happier. Yes there are many hot rod ways to go and Jubes are fantastic. At 59 I have chased the dream of always looking in someones back yard and wishing I were there (the grass is greener etc) Do your research, make a choice and enjoy. The biggest lesson I have learned is once you find something that makes you very happy, STOP LOOKING LOL
  3. No and I don't know how you took that meaning from what I posted. Often things like this are easily and quickly fixed and if it is an issue for one person, likely there are more out there and to have a simple repair if that is what it is, easily searchable, that will help more people than just the person with a problem.
  4. No, no phone call. In the past, I have seen many issues addressed in the forums. I have Khorns and tube amps on my game system so it was not a huge priority but not a reply at all seemed odd. I have cycled through all the modes on the base station. When the USB is plugged in I get an error that an unknown thing was plugged in and no drivers were found. I have used Tosslink and USB. I can hear side tone in the headphones but no audio from the computer. I have cycled through all the audio outputs on the computer (win 10) and no joy. I am guessing that the key may be drivers for the USB connection.
  5. Congrats on both the speakers and the wife! My wife can't tell any difference, I ask her how she likes the sound and the most I can get is "it's loud" but she lets me do what I want anyway LOL, Enjoy
  6. I guess the customer support I used to know is gone. I have a brand new in the box product and it is non functional, over a month here asking for help from Klipsch and nothing.
  7. I'm listening to my Fort'e1s (titanium tweets) right now, powered by a Yamaha AVR , SC1 and S Sides, no harshness etc at all. Actually, I was flipping around and found a classical music concert ststion on the internet and I just had to stop and listen, again hearing awesome music I had forgotten they were capable of with them serving as TV room speakers. They are not even placed all that well either.
  8. I would have thought you would have more action. I have a pair of ones also, they are darn fine speakers. Unless you have both Qnes and Twos side by side and have a speaker switch, you would be hard pressed to tell which series are playing and then because they both are sensitive to placement, they would want about the same space, neither would be at their best . That poster looking for twos should give these serious thought.
  9. For a limited time, get Klipsch B20 speakers free. http://www.glow-audio.com/getglowamp2.html
  10. Not a fan of TH movement (I am old enough to use the first name"full time RV'ng" but in a custom trailer) but I am not living there so Congrats on the new "space" I truly wish for it to be everything you want and need. It should not take much power to sound good in there
  11. Pay no mind to the "too bright" comments. I am using a 10 year old Yamaha AV intigrated with my Fort'e 1 speakers and I dare you to find it to be "too bright" and I am running the amp in bypass mode, meaning all tone controls are bypassed. Either maker should be fine. Of course, higher quality amplification won't hurt a thing either.
  12. I took advantage of the half price sale and bought the gaming headphones. They seem well built, I can hear myself over the mic in the speakers but I can'r get audio from the PC. The USB fails to connect, the error message says it cant figure out what has connectedcto the USB. Tosslink or USB, ...no audio. Any ideas?
  13. yes, I don't think it is fair about unemployment, they say it counts as income just like as if I did day labor, it is subtracted from what I would be paid by unemployment. The company paid one month of health insurance and the union got us a lump sum payment as a parting gift and that was it. If I had not started the pension before I was gone, I would have had to wait 4 years until I was older.
  14. Late to comment but GREAT SCORE! I am using F1s as mains in my TV room, I found a very inexpensive center speaker that mates perfectly to the Fort'e 1s, is the lowly SC-1. They are very inexpensive and are a great sonic match to the Fort'e 1s. There used to be a thread I started about it but I can't find it. Sorry.
  15. Congrats to both of you, for making space in the listening room and for adding some great music to a collection!
  16. OK, just over 2 weeks into this. OMG, I love not waking up at 3AM, I often stay UP till 3AM LOL! Once I finish working out the budget, getting insurances lined up, changing my 401 account management etc, it will slow down even more. I have not used 1/2 a tank of gas in both the truck and the Challenger since I last worked. I used to fill at least 2 x a week. I have set the air conditioning higher than would be comfortable alone but with fans, it is tolerable at 80 (many days were over 100 outside, in the last 2 weeks) That cut the cost of AC quite a bit, like nearly half vs keeping the house at 70. I have been in the 2ch room a bit and those tubes tend to heat things up a lot! Again, ceiling fan to the rescue. Do I wish I had more money? well sure, my income is just over 1/3 of what it used to be but my expenses went down quite a bit too. I have car detailing, blacksmithing, shop fab to fall back on and even use the Bobcat and attachments to pull in some extra coin. I am looking for another job and have applied for unemployment but my legal status and uh, ethnic stats are not correct for the system and because I took my pension to maintain our health insurance, it looks like I don't qualify for ANY unemployment at all even though I have been paying into the system for 36 years and was let go due to no fault of my own and would still be working if I had a choice. My real status is unemployed with a pension, NOT retired! I can't even qualify for SS for 3 more years yet.
  17. I think it is more the fact that your mains are at an angle while the center is straight on. welcome back!
  18. I have a early Yamaha AVR that is basically 4 ch stereo (It was replaced years ago but it still sits, waiting for duty). It sounds fine. I think when setup properly, 4 ch stereo works well. Is it PURE stereo? Well, no but what are you trying to get, more .. fuller 2 ch for non critical listening? It would be great for that. YMMV!
  19. How does my Turn Table connect into that? Those are funny looking jacks, do they replace RCA plugs?
  20. Hi, welcome and good looking "industrial" stand
  21. Chad I guess I am more of a fan than a current customer. My 78 Khorns sound fantastic and I am listening to a modern recording at the moment. The biggest problem from a sales point of view was touched on by you. The 30 year old speakers (unless abused, left in the rain, hit by a natural disaster etc) work just as well as they did new and when cared for, look like new so they don't need replacement. Cars used to change looks every year just so your 3 year old car looked dated and needed replacement to stay up with fashion of the day. When the makers stopped making drastic changes, the cars looked similar for longer so the average age of cars in service went up. For good or ill, Klipsch has a similar problem with the heritage line. Outstanding quality and service life with looks that don't change. While I own about 8 pair of assorted heritage speakers (thus helping to dry up the surplus on the market LOL) I can't USE any more sets of speakers. Collect them, sure but even a "fan" only has so much room. I do want to thank Klipsch for continuing to manufacture them in the U.S. and for maintaining the high quality bar they set so many years ago. I truly hope that Klipsch continues to win new customers and stay in business for the next 100 years at least
  22. Hey if that pic is any indication of the fashion of the locals, that is a very tempting idea indeed! The down side is that it would take 2 semi truck/trailers to move just my shop! That is much less appealing The notion of going back to work on my terms is tempting too, how many jobs are there that pay over $100K a year and you can work from home with the occasional trip to a sub vendor to check up on them? Ya, I thought so, not many
