It should never have mattered, Michael, but it did for too many people. Unfortunately it still matters to some. I'll stop before I get in trouble.

Well you know... in 1960 it was less than 20 years after Pearl, and only a few years after Korea so all things Asian was exotic and interesting, as long as it wasn't your next door neighbor.

  2. sharing family stuff?

Mom (Japanese) and Dad (German) around the time they decided to make me in mid 1961... only to regret it early 1962 when I was born. That was pretty taboo stuff in early 1960's.

  3. All Jubilees originally came with an active cross over... also, if you have purchased Heritage Jubilees you have consumer Jubilees... not Professional Jubilees Professional subforum.

Whether or not if you need a subwoofer is up to your personal preference... and if you have Heritage or Professional Jubilees

You made your purchase without learning about their capabilities and amplification requirements?

Enjoy them, and be careful with your listening levels... the speakers can absolutely damage your hearing.

Buy a Blad, the glass and a couple backs.  Used two for years w/zero problems for portraits, weddings, senics, etc.  Then buy a Halliburton case.  When I hung it up I got almost every penny back.

My other choice was a x2d Hasselblad... it's the same sensor that is in the Fujifilm... albeit it as a MUCH MORE robust price point. At that price point I can step up to the fujifilm gfx100 ii... which will do 8k video as well as 100mp images.

With full frame (36X24MM) digital at 40+MP you have to be looking for a specific characteristics for any significant improvement. Just be aware you'll spend the $$$ on a new system and the attendant learning curve. Most of what you'll see is fine detail at higher ISO at 100% crops.

I am... I have a good eye, so Dynamics are where it's at for me. having additional resolution is not bad to have either. While I DON'T have a full frame camera, I think I am well past that market segment and can get good use out of a medium format.

Like I had mentioned, I have always wanted a view camera... perhaps someday.

I WANT...where is it available? Looked on Klipsch.com with no success.

It's support for the museum. They are available there.

  7. I am contemplating get a medium format camera from the prosumer market... as I have always wanted a 8x10 camera, but the medium format Digital cameras have gotten so good and are  'relatively' affordable now.

does anyone have experience with them? I can not really see a downside to getting one if my main point is still life, nature and portrait.

I am looking at a GFX 50s II or GFA 100s II

Do you feel the 2050's were worth the price or do you wish you had kept the K691's and augmented them ?

    well... that's a tough one.

I DO think the 2050's have a different sound signature to the six nine one that I do enjoy/prefer over the entire 'range'... but it's not a GIGANTIC performance difference that one can take advantage of in a home setting. It is a change that is slightly > more than just 'Subtle'.

In terms of the economics, I am okay in spending the money for the difference... I really don't measure things in a cost versus reward manner because there will always be a uncontrollable 'barrier to entry' price associated with equipment change, but I would NOT have done the swap had the Heritage model not had the same driver. Keeping the driver swap in the 'Klipsch' approved setup made it okay for me on a personal level.

However, I am very curious in trying a Beryllium Diaphragm Driver... I just like/prefer the sound of beryllium and I think the 2050 gets me partially of the way there over a stock six nine one.

To your original point... I do think that most would be MORE THAN happy with a 402/691 and AMT set up. I am trying for a bit more.

Do you drive the AMT actively to compensate for the lower efficiency?

this was one reason I went with the beyma... efficiency matching.

    Beyma tpl200
    ● Extended frequency response (1 - 23 kHz)
    ● High sensitivity (104 dB)
    ● High power handling 240 W program (X-bow ®)
    ● Extremely linear frequency response
    ● Ultra low distortion
    ● Cast aluminum 80º x 30º horn
