    I plan on...

I was advised an inexpensive DAC will make a noticeable difference.  I was told:

An American company makes a 99.00 dac and I read it's damn good.

    Define 'Damn Good'?

I don't have much knowledge of AVR receivers, but they definitely have a lot of functionality.

1-Are there killer AVR's out there in nice used condition for under $750?

2-Anyone have experience with both separates and AVR's?

    1-no...

    2-Yes...

In my opinion, based on my listening experiences with the Heresy IV's, I think Klipsch should rework the issues with box resonance on the IV and I think it would be an even greater speaker by comparison.

    Happy listening,

I would like to see a miniaturized version LF doghouse added to a stand mounted Heresy with a 10"/12" driver... but that's not gonna happen.

    Probably not enough volume...

if you dont have dogs, like me, I suggest moving them on axis directly in front of the front beauty panel...

You won't get 'smearing' by having them off axis like I do, but there is some small alignment mismatch... though it's fairly insignificant.

I love bass horns,  but... very satisfying results can be achieved with a DR if thoughtfully implemented.

without entering into a circular logic semantic debate, like I said... it's a Band-Aid.

I think a lot of the issues for many can stem from implementation as opposed to the outright disdain of direct radiation... that being said, DR's are more alike than they are different from each other. One is just about as good as another.

Do you think that you can hear direct radiating distortion at 18 to 40 hz ? . A well  designed , and properly sized DR will not degrade a system at the lowest frequencies 🤓

    Not only yes... Hell yes.

Once you learn what to/how to listen...

Intermodulation distortion with its time variable is fairly distinct to a signal that is more linear.
