  1. He then said it would be the newest version of either speaker. my bad... sorry about that so true, there is nothing like new... unless it's buying used in new condition and saving a LOT of money.

the more I look at them... the more they look like vinyl veneered. I have seen that before on other models and have owned some myself.
  3. I'm kind if interested in the HF section W/O the motorboards for a custom horn install. let me think about this a little more. Good luck with the sale at any rate.
  4. I guess it depends on what we are talking about. If we are talking about any one speaker in our front soundstage sounding different than the other two it would be a problem, imo. That said, I actually wonder how much difference there is in any of these speakers and if mix-n-matched would there be positive and negative attributes people could pick up without knowing which speaker was which. One thing we can all agree on--dean's crossovers are going to look better than what came out of those RF-7IIs. I agree... it can matter and does matter to most. I do recognize that there are timbre differences in every speaker system, and in a lot of instances... vast differences, but my ref center has become "fairly" seamless with my cornwalls with the application of a little creative EQ'ing. It surely was not seamless right out of the box and would never be if I ran my EQ flat. I have to emphasis the word "Fairly" in relation to seamless... and more so now that Deans work has cleaned up and focused my CW's.
  5. wow... I love properly run wiring and a clean install. I wish I had the skill sets to build something like this.

    almost to good? possibly refinished?
  7. current generation Heritage series Cornwalls versus old generation Reference series 7's? CW's every time... but that is a personal choice, nothing more.

  10. wow... how worldly, very very nice and thanks for sharing.
  11. the tinning work is exceptional
  12. those HF sections are interesting... your pricing the motor boards separately? those three pictures are of the same speaker correct? is the other speaker in similar condition? is that a veneer piece missing on the top corner or is that wood color?
  13. for sure... I am still not 100% committed but that would be cool if you could do that if I decide to go that way Hey Schu, the older ones listed @ $2k are mine and I am open to offers. Clay TY clay... I am still in the collating phase. I have some Original LS's around here locally. GL to you with your sale though ---------------------------------------------------------- still no text back from the CLposter
  14. okay... we want to know what portable amp that is you are using?
  15. for sure... I am still not 100% committed but that would be cool if you could do that if I decide to go that way
  16. indeed... all Image ones are ON EAR. I have the version 1 with the cupped ear pads and I get set them just about right so they keep out most all sounds, but it's not the same as an OVER EAR unit. I have not tried replacement cups, but I really do not think there were any changes made to any part of the design except for the coloration so I assume they are interchangeable... but I have not tried it personally. to me, I have no idea why Klipsch went with a ear Pad instead of the ear cup... those pads look really uncomfortable. I finally just broke down any bought a pair of x11i's, but I still use both headphones.
  17. I think those have been for sale for a while... I remember seeing them for around 3500 before I think. two and a half is not to bad. i'm always slightly scared to buying something site unseen from MS because of all the flooding up and down the Mississippi... these look beautiful though. Texted... ------------------------------------------------------ or you can get these for 2K if you are in the same area. La Scala
  18. timbre matching is WAY OVER rated... simply because you can identify it doesn't by the fact your ears can hear the difference doesn't mean it's necessarily a negative attribute.
  19. original troll post has worked... look at some of these responses.
  20. for sure I assumed it was 125... they are titanium?
