  1. Personally, I don't think many electronic items would ever gain value. If they were just speakers, maybe, but since they have the built in amplifier which everyone knows won't last forever(not bashing Klipsch, I love 'em, but anything with an amplifier is going to burn out eventually), I don't see how they could increase in value. I wouldn't be willing to put more than the original MSRP into something that has been used for awhile and could die at anytime.
  2. Well, I called Klipsch and they do still have the bucking magnets. Problem is, they'll cost 135 bucks to get all the magnets you need for the 20's and then you have to buy some apoxy glue from somewhere to attach them, so about 140-150 bucks total. That's abit more than I was hoping to spend.
  3. I know this thread is really old, but anyone know if this is still available? I just upgraded to a 36" WEGA and now because of it's size my KLF-20's are messing up my new TV. I had to move them upstairs until I can figure something out.
  4. Yeah, you're forgetting the most important piece of the whole puzzle! The reciever, without a reciever you're speakers will be worthless. You can get a decent Yamaha or Denon for less than $500. You can go cheaper if you want (I won't again). Right now I'm using a pretty cheap Kenwood VR-309 and it sounds pretty good with my Legend's, but I know a Denon or Yamaha would sound ALOT better. ------------------ Brad Legend Series KLF-20s and KLF-C7...still hoping to get the S6's someday!
  5. Well, if 1300 is your limit, I think you need to go with the Synergy set-up. Get the SF-1 or SF-2 for mains, SC-1 for center, and SS-1 for surround. They are Klipsch's cheapest line, but will still be better than Blose! If you can swing a little more cash, get the Reference line-up which is RF-3, RC-3 and RS-3 and you'd be even happier. ------------------ Brad Legend Series KLF-20s and KLF-C7...still hoping to get the S6's someday!
  6. I dont think the hiss is normal, unless I just got very lucky. I've had a set of 2.1's for about 3 weeks now, hooked up with an almost 2 year old Diamond MX300 sound card and I can turn the volume all the way up when nothing is playing and I don't get even an ounce of hiss out of my speakers. Maybe there is a certain sound card that is causing the Klipsch's to hiss? ------------------ Brad Legend Series KLF-20s and KLF-C7...still hoping to get the S6's someday!
  7. Might be a little hard finding the Legend series center channel pretty soon. The legends have already been discontinued. The new RC-7 for the reference series is pretty similiar to the KLF-C7 though, so that will probably work fine if you can't find the C7 anywhere. ------------------ Brad Legend Series KLF-20s and KLF-C7...still hoping to get the S6's someday!
  8. Well, this isn't receivers but it's still Yamaha vs Denon. For christmas I got a Denon DCM-370 5-disc changer. I had my friend bring his Yamaha CDC-775 over for a comparison. The Yamaha won in every category. It sounded good in analog or digital connection, the Denon sounded aweful to me in analog and sounded good using a digital connection. So needles to say, I took the Denon back and got me one of the Yamaha CDC-775's. It's an awesome CD player for $249! ------------------ Brad Legend Series KLF-20s and KLF-C7...still hoping to get the S6's someday!
  9. There will a little bit of a tonal difference, but you're right it's not as important matching surrounds like it is in the front. The RS-3s might overpower your fronts a little, but you should be able to adjust the rear levels to fix that. If there's no way for you get the SS-1s I dont see any problem with getting the RS-3s.
