  1. That is one in your face setup! Awesome!
  2. Very nice! I have the old downfiring version. Love the way they sound. Very nice looking setup too!
  3. That's what I paid for my pair to a guy in northern Indy last year. I love them. Much better then any of the synergy series IMO. If they are in good condition I say go for it. You will be happy. I paired them with a RC62 which works great but am looking for a RC7 at a decent price then I will sell my RC62. Good Luck! Adam
  4. Hey Bullwinkle, I sent you a PM.
  5. I saw that picture in avs the other day. Huge cabinets! Those ED drivers better be able to put that bracing to work. Extremely jealous. I was going to get one the A7s subs ED makes but saw the SVS on audiogon and thought it was too good of a deal. I do have to agree with you on spending that much.
  6. Well I've never actually measured but the sub itself is designed to be tuned to either 20hz, 16hz, or 12hz. I have it just set to the normal 20hz and the gain somewhere around 11 o'clock and it has enough output to rattle things in my house that I thought couldn't rattle unless we had a earthquake of 7 or higher on the richter scale. I can definitely feel it drop the pressure in the room and out of a single 12" woofer! Here is a link to a review audioholics did on the updated front firing version but mine still has the DSP or PEQ which comes in handy for room correction. http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/subwoofers/pb12-plus But I want another one...doesn't have to be a PB12+ but maybe a HSU, Epik, or Rythmik with similar capabilities or greater. Heck maybe even a Orbital Shifter or Captivator. I wanna see how far I can go with the Mrs. on this. See what her limits are.... Haha! Adam
  7. Yup, RF3s, and a RC62II. Ya the sub definitely was bigger then expected, but the Mrs said she doesn't care how big the speakers are as long as there aren't cables ran behind us. So no surrounds equals big sub and towers. My goal by fall is to have a set of RF7s to replace the aging 3s and an XPA-3 with a Processor of some sort, not sure if i want to do Emotiva with all the issues I've been hearing about. But I love it. Damn this upgrade bug. It's like once you start you never want to stop.
  8. It's been awhile since I've posted anything on here, but just wanted to show it off...I'm proud of it Panasonic TCP60ST30 replaced my old 42" Samsung, and added a new/used SVS PB12+. Amazing subwoofer, so much more impact then my old RW-12d. Yay!
  9. Well I've been doing a ton of research, and decided between two subs. Unfortunately since the RT-12 isn't available I started looking heavily into eD specifically the A7s-450 or the A5-350. So being primarily for movies and in a large room I think both would do great, but I'm just wondering if the sealed sub is going to dig deeper? Anybody with experience of either or both? I'm gonna make my order at the end of the week most likely. Leaning towards the A7s just because the amp they are now shipping with has an eq built in so I don't have to get the eq.2. Thanks, Adam
  10. Also Jason brings up a good question, has eD tested the old amp yet?
  11. I think it's a short in the sub. Maybe the way the subwoofer itself is wired. If the amp isn't designed to go to a certain impedance and the sub is wired incorrectly that could definitely cause the issue. Or possibly speaker wire is damaged. Can you access the wire?
  12. Could it be something in the sub itself damaging the amp when or after it plays? Or maybe power outlet? But the amp RCA out is definitely a possibility but I would think it wouldn't send a signal at all let alone once or twice. And even with the audessey setting the sub at -12 db you would still get something. Because of my setup and small room that's what it did for my rw-10d but there is still plenty of bass coming from it.
  13. That doesn't seem like a bad idea, now a lot of the stuff I have read gives the RT -12 a more musical punch to it then movie depth. Does this hold true?
  14. So about a few days ago I moved my home theater system over to the new house to test it out and see how it sounds. I am moving from a tiny two bedroom apartment to a 2000 sq ft three bedroom home. The living room at the apartment was 10x20 with open kitchen and dining room, the house has basically double the size with the same open dining room and kitchen, so 20x35. Once everything was hooked up I cranked it up and started playing with sub location. Well good news is the RF - 3s finally are able to really stand out, the bad news is no matter what location is put the sub it just didn't havevthe same impact it did at the apartment. I know it's due to room size, but here is my question. Do I keep the RW, and add a better sub or just sell it and put that towards a new one. Without getting rid of the RW I will be looking at spending $500-$600, with selling it, add about $250. It will primarily be used for 70/30 HT/MUSIC. A few of the obvious brands are Emotiva, HSU, SVS, Rythmik, and Outlaw. I am not looking to go the DIY route, because I don't have access to any tools currently not the time. It will be in the corner, most likely. The Svs Cylinder sub is really enticing me, as is the Vtf-3 from HSU. The cylinder I think would have the best WAF but she seems to be open for the most part. I am looking to go deep and clean. As with most of the brands I think they will all go loud and blend in with the RF - 3s and RC - 62II well. I appreciate that help. All the equipment the is in my signature is current. I appreciate the help and look forward to the input. Adam
  15. So I pulled the trigger on an awesome deal of RF-3 towers that were in pristine condition no damage done to them, perfect in other words. Picture enclosed. And so far they are phenomonal. I can't crank them up to much because of the neighbors but as soon as we move into the the new house you can bet they are going to be rocking! Also side question, I have a local guy selling a damaged RC-7 center, he says its because of moving. The unit has a missing woofer and a slightly damaged woofer. A few scratches here and there. The xover and screw holes are good, no striping, overall looks ok besides the woofers.. My question, since it only costs $60 each to replace the woofers, do you think it would be worth it to pick it up for $100-$150 and just mess around with it? Maybe have it for another HT. Let me know.
