  1. My buddy Wipster as some of you might have seen just hooked up with a pair of nice 87 Belles. He installed a pair of Crites x-overs which was a big improvment over ths worn out ABs that came with the Belles. I've got a pair of ALK original universals that I was going to let him try out. My question for any of you guys using universals with Belles is what tap setting on the auto-former seems to work the best?
  2. That's a shame. Artto's Klipschorn room was a great thread. A room like that would be like a dream to me.
  3. Oh Man! Does that mean the gigantic Klipschorn room is no more?
  4. That is a cool looking machine. Does it work? Have you tried winding tape on to it?
  5. Yeah I moved to Richland Washington three years ago. .
  6. Man you guys have got some nice looking decks. The reason I got interested in this thread is that I started recording tapes on my old teac3300 recently for the first time in a number or years. A buddy of mine recently acquired a box set of all of the Beatles English imports that had never been played. I recorded what I thought was the best tracks onto two TDK reels. The sound quality on a lot of this stuff is outstanding. I'd kind of like some input as to the quality of the recordings I've made. Maybe we could do another tape swap. Any thoughts?
  7. Got it. You're alright Chad. I don't care what your mother in law says about ya.
  8. Here's a short list that I came up with. Please chime in. Hank Williams Chuck Berry Bob Dylan Woody Guthrie Neil Young Dave Alvin John Fogarty Paul Simon Robbie Rorbetson
  9. A LaScala bass bin requires a 4 ohm woofer. The Altec 416 is 8ohm. It will not work.
  10. Why do you want to stain rosewood? Just sand them down and apply a clear finish. The easist finish to apply I've found is Formby's tung oil. You just wipe it on with a rag.
  11. Here's my current set up. I'm running a Micro-Seiki DD 40 tt into a Scott LK 48 amp and a Teac 3300 SX directly into a Mac 225. I can switch between the two amps with a Niles switch. The speakers are my hybrid K horns with Altec 511 horns, 902 drivers and Beyma cp-25 tweeters.
