My girlfriend's son has asked me to play Pokeman cards with him, he is 13. My eyes glazed over reading the instructions. It sounds like I hope he never discovers this game, a lot of money, but what I like about it is human interaction, not two people staring at a tv with game controls. Is there any money in Pokemon cards, collectors value wise? Apparently there are counterfeit cards out there?
  2. I agree, Wow, Florence just got knocked off the list, so did Paris, back to Colorado. Do NOT bring any edibles back into Texas, not that yiu would, but I have two new cases, two seperate kids, seperate towns, pulled over for speeding. Starts out like this, "where you coming from?"
  3. Buddy Guy, Billy Gibbons, Robert Cray, Charlie Musslewhite
  4. Thank you for that, that is great. Now if someone can explain the difference to me between speaker sensitivity versus efficiency, in terms I can understand I would be most appreciative. Roy told me once, but my eyes glazed over.
  5. I think you are right, very hard to reverse himself. However if he thinks he might be out of a 35M dollar a year job, he might just reconsider. I really think it is going to depend on just how strong a case they can make, I think it is going to have to be strong enough to really convince a majority of owners. Edited for dictation errors, typos and etc.
  6. Don't want to diminish the great memory of Mr. Klipsch, but if people are interested in history they need to only look up "the Little Rock nine" and the history of the 101st Airborne Division. That governor beat Rockefeller the first time in '64, and someone with his same views ran and lost against him in '66. Things really had changed in those ten years, and they changed even more dramatically after '66.
  7. Oh they really were that way in '64 and '66 when Mr. Klipsch was supporting Rockefeller. It is a historical fact what his opponent stood for, and where Winthrop stood. It was 80/20 D to R when Rockefeller won as a R candidate, and the reason is he stood for change, and Mr. Klipsch stood with him. They may have changed in Hope by the time you got there in '76 but only because of the changes from '66. There is no revisionist history at what was at stake in '66, it is all there pretty much, literally, in black and white. Mr. Klipsch was making the stand you speak of in terms of the way he viewed people back in '66.
  8. I think to understand where Mr. Klipsch stood in terms of issues someone would need to understand who Rockefeller ran against, what his opponent stood for, and why Mr. Klipsch identified with Rockefeller. Rockefeller was the first R governor since reconstruction, and there is a good reason for that embedded in history. Mr. Klipsch was a maverick, willing to pick the important issues that ran with his understanding of his core spirituality. He was willing to stand with an issue important to him. He was certainly very much aligned with LBJ on the issues of the day, or rather THE issue of the day. It is historical, and it proves yet again, Mr. Klipsch was way ahead of his time. Travis
  9. Well it is a long road they have to go, but it seems to me that there are problems right within the report itself. But with Godell deciding to take this on himself, like Detel's wife said, it may all fall on deaf ears. It is very difficult to overturn an arbitration decision, so whatever he decides will probably stick, but it has happened recently to the NFL In the Adrian Peterson case.
  10. Well I think there are a number of issues that are going on here. One goes back to Godell's mishandling of the Ray Rice incident. A 2 game suspension for spousal abuse. Then the video goes public. NFL tries to say they weren unaware of video which hotel and/or police vehemently deny. NFL gets women across the country majorly pissed off, they are going to pull their kids out of football, not allow them to attend NFL games. Godell then gives Rice and indefinite suspension. He appeals to an arbitrator and wins. NFL starts to run PSAs about spousal abuse. The next issue is there are allegations brought to NFL about the inflation if the NE footballs long before this playoff game. The NFL does nothing. No investigation, no inquiry. The NFL looks like they are covering up for one of their most powerful owners, Kraft, who was a supporter of Godell when people said he should be fired over Ray Rice affair. The NFL now has the playoff game where other team tests an intercepted ball and informs refs. They test all NE footballs, only have time to test 3 Indy footballs. They reinflate them and game proceeds, but media has it now. There are allegations that one of the footballs cannot be located because one of the officials has taken one and sold it, it caught and fired. This looks like it has no truth whatsoever. Godell hires lawyer and firm that has been doing NFL work to do an "independent" investigation. and they spend "millions" on investigation. It all comes down to which gauge the ref used to test the footballs before the game. The ref says he canmot remember. One reads higher than the other by .3 to .4 psi. If they were tested with the higher reading gauge then all of the balls were under inflated. If they used the lower reading pregame, 9 of the 12 balls are where the NFL's expert would expect them to be by halftime if they were at 12.5 lbs psi pregame according to the Ideal Gas Law. The report does not mention this fact, but mentions the raw data, mor does the report explain how they reached the conclusion that the ref must have used the higher reading gauge even though the official says he canmot remember which one he used. The Report says that Brady was "generally aware." This was because his name was mentioned in texts. There is nothing that I saw in the report that shows the coach had any knowledge, general or specific. I believe they had more of a link in the Saints case, but I have not looked at all. I have not read the explanation on why the penalty on the team, but it came from 3rd in command and not Godell. That is best I can do for now while I am on the road. Travis
  11. Here are the curves from the anechoic, independent lab tests. what kind of music do you like? Is there a particular Klipsch speaker you are familar with, prefer? I see you have RF 7IIs. http://www.soundstagenetwork.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1285:nrc-measurements-sonus-faber-olympica-iii-loudspeakers&catid=77:loudspeaker-measurements&Itemid=153
  12. Now Winthrop Rockefeller likely had more Klipsch than any politician in Arkansas history. They have a farm where they would have bands entertain and the entire sound system was Klipsch. Heard he had Klipsch at all his houses. Perhaps the ex Klipsch employees know what he had out at Petit Jean. Now that is cool!
  13. Goodell is screwed, he should have dumped in on an arbitrator he gets to pick, now it is all in his lap. Brady has Kessler and a nobel prize winner for an expert. I read the entire 243 page report, the NFL has major problems in their case on Brady, just on the face of the report itself. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.
  14. Not according to the multi-million dollar report you don't lost 1 psi per test. And your equipment is probably better than what the NFL uses, photos if the guages are attached to the report. This us what they used. The one with the bent needle consistently measures .3 to .4 Psi higher than the other ine. Guess what, the ref can't remember which gauge he used pregame. The report assumes it was the higher readi g gauge. Do you see where this is going? 9 if the 12 balls are where they should be if the NFL had used the higher reading gauge. The whole thing is going to boil down to page 116 of the report. This is what they are going to try and rely upon to fine a guy 2 million in salary. Brady would be a fool not to appeal this.
  15. I think the rule should be that the refs inflate the balls to the pressure desired by the QB, that the refs carry them out. That the refs be given gauges that are more orecise then +/- 20%. Two gauges at 12.5 psi should be able to read .1 psi of each other, unlike the readings they got at halftime. Brady may walk at arbitration on the gauges alone.
  16. Really? I would be interested to know what you base that on. The only two things I have ever been able to find about him politically is he was friends with and supported Winthrop Rockefeller in both '64 and '66 and he gave $200 to Huckabee in '92 for the U.S. Senate race. Winthrop, from all accounts, was described as a "moderate to liberal progressive." Mr. Klipsch made no further political contributions to Huckabee, or anyone else. I am sure those that actually knew him might be able to shed some light on that, but I just haven't seen anything written about him in political terms which has led me to assume, probably mistakenly, that politics was of little to no importance to him. Travis
  17. Near as I can tell, his base salary this year is 8m, 9the year after that, and 10 for the last year of this contract. It is still a 16 games season is ut not? 8M divided by 16 is 500k per game, so 2M He is allowed to play and practice presason. I guess he is also allowed to practice during regular season. They have a bye week in week forfour so they say he is out the first 5 weeks I guess the people who are REALLY complaining are the fantasy football people. That has really changed whe way younger fans watch football. I have been to a game party at private home, typically a cowboys game, and the younger guys are typically applauding individual performance. They watch that banner underneath the game that shows fantasy stats from around the league with as much, if not more, interest than the actual game. Travis
  18. So what does a 5 game suspension, without pay, add up to for Brady. 2 or 3 million? Is the NFL still under a salary cap? Does that money reduce the cap?
  19. That is a dilemma, but I am with Gill, the White Oak siund like keepers.
  20. I was a big Raiders fan too, from '70, when we moved to the Bay Area, until '86 after I was done with school, I would go to several games a year, all playoff games, in both Oakland and LA. My nieces made me switch to Broncos in order to keep the family peace. I have to root in secret for the Raiders these days.
  21. So if this suspension sticks for Brady, will it have any impact on his being inducted in the Football Hall of Fame. They talked of him for sure being inducted prior to this, I would suppose that is true. Why is cheating more acceptable culture in baseball? Corked bats, spitters, scuffing the ball, emery boards, etc. What is the suspension for a corked bat, an emery board? Travis
  22. The NFL is a PR nightmare, I just searched "Patriots Rice NFL" and all the *** sports outlets have an opinion about it. Here is one from Time. The NFL cannot get of its own way. http://time.com/3854871/brady-deflategate/ I read in many places that while Brady can appeal under the players' agreement, Kraft is "stuck" with the decision. I wonder why they are saying that, he can always attack due process in court. Especially if he files it in Boston. I am an Al Davis fan, he kicked Pete's teeth in and wiped the smile right off his face. This of course allowed Colts to pack up in the middle of the night and move to Indianapolis.
  23. The report said you could not tell the difference by touch. The 2 gauges used to check the balls at halftime were about .5 Psi different from each other. The NFL knew about this for several games prior to the playoffs, and Indianapolis made a complaint about it to the NFL prior to this specific game. They did nothing to address it prior to the game. It doesn't excuse Pats, et el, conduct in the least, but I think the investigation and penalties are more about the NFL's mishandling of the Ray Rice situation and trying to regain credibility.
