  1. Yup...looks like the Docs have been working on you. I'm 8 weeks or so out from a back repair. A 5" scar in the front and a 5" scar in the back. Thats why I can spend so much time here. ........Good Luck!
  2. Ahh, Should have opened the pic befor asking how much........14000.00 for the set. Maybe just the two big ones for me. Looks like guys standing around in tuxes. Looking forward to seeing the local dealer get them in. cool....cool....cool
  3. Those look really nice! Hope they sound as good as they look. Hope the price is not out of this world...?? ......Pat
  4. Too bad you are so unhappy. I would still give them a try.Certainly up to the individual.
  5. Hi, 2 or 3 times a month I check in with our local hifi shop and have heard them a few times on display. If I had the $$ for amplification and the room I would probably give them a try. One time in particular I heard them set up perfectly and I could not hear where the music was coming from no matter how hard I listened, amazing!. Martin Logan owners have their own website/forum and may be of some interest to you. Klipsch on the other hand is quite the all out ear busting loud rock and roll type speaker that allows low or high powered amplification. Try to hear them both ....totally different speaker. ..Goodluck
  6. That is an amazing amount of damage! Sometimes trees on the property are the icing on the cake. Trees that size around here in Indiana to remove would be 900 to 1200 bucks per. I just had two big Maple tree's removed last fall. Think of the stereo equipment a guy could purchase with that amount of $$$ .........Pat
  7. Mineral Spirits. Harmless but temporarily smelly, finish that off with all purpose spray cleaner........
  8. Believe it or not the peanut butter and jelly sandwich I had for lunch the other day went very well with that Minestrone soup......
  9. At our local store 4 RF7's would be 4000 bucks. That sounds like a pretty good deal as long as they have not been physically abused. Cherry is a bonus also! .........WOW....my 2 cents.
  10. Seems to me a speaker that "sounds good" with high 200plus watts or low 8 or 10 watts could be an extremely flexible speaker to work with in the future. Maybe later on down the road a guy could experiment with different amps and have some fun instead of being tied to either a high or low powered amp. I honestly have never heard them but have read many good things about them. ........Enjoy!.....Pat

    RF5

In our local electronics store (Ovation) they are selling for about the same price.........sounds cheap....? 375.00 per pair
  12. That cayin TA30 looks really nice and maybe a good way to introduce myself to tubes. My Klipsches love tubes I have heard and have read many good things about that unit. The unit looks solid and "clean" looking. My wifes cousins live near Pauls business in Chicago and he sounds like an honest person. Oh excuse me I am starting to drool....... .....Pat
  13. Oh my gosh, how times have changed!
  14. Using a hot melt glue gun to stick the wire neatly in the corner works pretty well especially if the wire is the same color as the molding. This is ok if the wire can not be completely hidden somewhere.
  15. Certainly not a problem like that with my RSX's connected to a 100wpc Denon reciever........ever. ....Pat
  16. Dude, That is interesting. This is one of the most memorable times of your life!..........ENJOY! ...Pat

    Shrek2

Looking forward to seeing Shrek II on DVD. Never did understand why people rush out before the credits. ...........Pat
  18. Surrender by Elvis Presley........I don't recall ever having heard that song or most any of his others because when it started playing I would change the station! That music has to be some of the mushiest girlie music ever. #1961 ...Pat
  19. I volunteer to be a test pilot with my 4.2's, but I live in Indianapolis Indiana so that is probably out of the question. Lately my curiosity with tubes has been aroused. ......... ....Pat
  20. Hi, I just tried Gil's 15 sec. and 1 minute hold test to check on how tight it is on my 12 year old 4.2's and it works. I never realized they were that air tight! Gee, the things a guy can learn around here. .......Pat
  21. Hi, I bought my 4.2's new some time ago. Good speaker. These came with spikes attached and are sitting on 2" concrete pads. Sound much better. I would open that thing up by removing the lower speaker and get any water out of there then let it air dry for a few days. Then see about repairing the damage to the cabinet. GoodLuck.... Pat
  22. Oh man those jet ski's look like fun. My wifes cousin bought one and after it was sold he said "they depreciate considerably"...I do not know hardly anything about them......but they looooook so fun! ...Pat
  23. 1984, That looks nice and strong and would probably be out of sight as well. A person would want to make sure it is securely attached then it should hold a tremendous amount of weight. I too am lucky enough to have a cabinetmaker buddy that is very helpful. Goodluck......... ...Pat
  24. re: wall standards For the non-ghetto version make sure the standards are completely hidden behind the equipment and TV. Don't use the flat cheaper looking brackets (support arms). Black is also preferable to brushed aluminum finish or white, use your own judgement with surrounding colors. All the low voltage wires run through the rear wall into a bdrm. closet then return to the TV. No digital or I would send a pic. very clean look. Custom cabinetmaker could also be of some assistance for the $$. ...........Pat
  25. ....."slowJoe" did a real good job on his if you want it on the TV. Heck you could even stain it to match something. ........Pat
