  1. "Wall standards" are the name of them if I'm not mistaken. Two vertical metal strips with slots and very strong and different length brackets up to 24",maybe more that hang off them. Will easily support that load if vertical strips are attached to the studs or "togglers" are used - not "toggle bolts". Available at local hardware or lumber home stores in the shelving dept. I've seen them in black or white. I just hung my receiver dvd player and cd player(stacked) with no problem. Sorry I don't live nearby I would show you. ....Pat
  2. My 4.2's are still slamming with a low powered s.s. receiver after these past 12 years. That does sound like the approximate going price. I am looking forward to changing to a higher powered s.s or a modest tube amp someday. .......so many choices! Pat.........
  3. My wife say's she and her co-workers are going out tonight and they want me to come along....how about if we showed up on your doorstep?....Her co-workers are the Dallas Cowboy Cheer Leader's. Oh darn......there goes my imagination again.......
  4. I just got my Denon back from the shop.......could not imagine having to lug that thing around. First I've heard of this 5805..... Pat
  5. I should show this to my wife just to confirm her acceptance of our little Klipsch 4.2's. The TV is identical to the one in our modestly sized living room! ....nice picture anyway.... Pat
  6. Hello, Try (audiopoints.com) Starsound technologies has lots of stuff. Check (audiogon.com) under the "tweaks" section. They sure are expensive little things. I made my own spikes by going to a local hardware and getting some heavy duty almost 1/4" lag type screws and sharpening the heads on a grinder to a point then running them into the bottom of the speaker cabinets. Pat.......
  7. The new Klipsch THX system powered by Aragon would make me smile for a great while..... ...... ........Pat
  8. I have wondered the same thing myself. The local dealer where I live has never carried or made mention of the Heritage line. Maybe they are the upper end - super duper models. From what I have read here they may be a bit more expensive. Gee, maybe I have been missing out on something all these years. .........Pat
  9. I am not familiar with what you are talking about but did you ever hear of Animusic? (animusic.com) Craziest thing I ever did see, and every once in a while I'll throw the disc in to enjoy. Pat.....
  10. You are welcome I discovered this place since being off work with back problems. Funny thing about this whole mess is I work in a Hospital anyway. Had to give up all my other hobbies...fishing/boats...dirt bikes/4-wheelers and it looks like I'm falling back on the easier things in life. This stuff (amps, speakers etc. etc.) takes a big bite out of the billfold too. Pat....Indianapolis
  11. Hi, It is going on 10 years or so with my 4.2's and it has been enjoyable from the beginning. Very soft music to the really loud stuff flows easily from them. They have alway's been hooked up to a Denon 45wpc Reciever with excellent reliability and sound. Lately seperates have been looking pretty interesting to me for I would almost bet it would sound even better. Since visiting this Forum I have found tube equipment may also sound excellent. Good luck & enjoy...... ....Pat
  12. Chops, That is not only an electrical component but one heck of a fine looking piece of artwork! Pat
  13. One Adam 12...One Adam 12.... Boy, did I just waste my time or what? Pat
  14. Wife and I have been using a Nikon Zoom Touch #800 fully automatic camera for about 9 years without any problems and the pictures come out crystal clear everytime. Seems like camera's are getting smaller and easier to carry and handle. Pat

  17. Absolutely made them sound better - imaging - bass - much cleaner - clearer sound all around with the extra weight. As far as plywood/mdf boxes go, just wing it then use latex caulk with lot's of paint and you may suprise yourself just how nice they look. I am temporarily unable (back injury) to make them myself or I surely would have. Take your time and go for it.....................Pat
  18. I just had my Cabinetmaker Buddy make me a couple "finished one side" plywood boxes to exact size. Then I finished them in two coats of flat black paint and three coats of Satin finish polyurethane........Almost a perfect match to the speaker cabinets...also drilled a hole in the top and filled with kitty litter (cheap) and they are solid as a rock! Pat
  19. Fini, Try any of the local home center type stores for your wood. For copper colored screws I recently had good luck with coloring those screw heads copper color with a brown marker, let each layer dry then add another for a deeper color. Pat
  20. Hi, Sure good prices........I'm happy with the RSX5"s but the Denon #685 failed after a few weeks and their warranty was for 7 days. Soooo, it is now in a local shop and the repair bill is yet to be seen... ...whole thing suprises me though because my other Denon has been going strong for over 12 years.... Looking back it would have been worth the x-tra bucks to get a better warranty...... Pat
  21. A few day's ago I deleted a bunch of cookies trying to speed up this computer and ever since this Klipsch website has been SLOW! Thought maybe it was because of the deleted stuff.....guess not. I'm sure it will straighten itself out sooner or later....Cable service quality could not have dropped off that quick! I'm not going anywhere Pat
  22. That is a nice looking speaker.......for now I will just make a copy and post it on my bulletin board to enjoy. Hope it sounds as good as it looks........
