  1. I removed the fan from my QSC 1202 and it stays cool as a cucumber. The 1400 on the other hand must be old technology or something because it gets hotter than a firecracker. Good point about the blowing towards the front and making the faceplate warm. Thanks a LOT Kouack for that clip from the 1400 website explaining how it was originally set up. .............now to decide.[:S]
  2. Hey, that's on display in the lobby of Klipsch in Indy isn't it? They are h-u-g-e !
  3. The first rule of audio is.......... 1. Always upgrade when necessary. Keep denying it Paul, maybe our significant others will keep believing. []
  4. I'm getting closer to installing the new replacement fan in my QSC 1400 and I'm not sure which way the air flows within pro amps. Since it's not and exact replacement it can be turned either direction. What do you think, in the front out the back or in the back and out the front? Thank's, I'm getting pretty excited to get this back in the system because it rocks!
  5. Yup, sounds crazy to me not wanting to go horns but what ever makes you happy. My Reference series speakers are so smooth and listensble it is amazing, paired with the wrong amp it is everything bad you describe. Good Luck.
  6. I haven't heard that guy in at least 30 years! Paul Harvey...........................................Good Day.
  7. What are doing buying? I thought you were depleting your inventory. Oh well, what ever works.[]
  8. Hi Roger ! Hi Michael ! ..............................[]
  9. 24 that's a bunch ! A guy could sell off his automobile just to buy 24 of the exotic fancy gold type.
  10. My experience of going to a tube preamp from a receiver was quite amazing. Not only "smooth" but to hear what was never there before is what surprised me the most. Also being able to listen to a looong time without fatigue which I know exactly what you mean about wearing you down. Of course the reworked Dean crossovers was a mighty big step in the right direction for me too. I envy your amp...[] When I dampened the horns on my 4.2's w/ HVAC monkey grip it made such a difference I wound up removing most of if not all of the material, it made quite a difference. These audio engineers really are on to something, being able to design and change the sound of a speaker.
  11. Always good to hear comparisons from the Klipschters around here. I'm sure the southside salesman was doing his best to make conversation but that's what I get for listining to a salesman. He also referred to the entire Klipsch line as having a "horn sound" , whatever that meant. That Palladiums line are a fine looking line of speakers......[8]
  12. So the sales guy tells me the new Klipsch Palladium line does not have the Klipsch "signature" sound. Do you really think so? Yes, to me the smaller bookshel model looks like a million bucks but I'm not in the market for them right now. With two horns in each one it seems like it should sound somewhat similar, don't you think?.
  13. Marty, looks like Christys auction house is still doing well. Also looks like a chair that belongs with lots of stuffed animals hanging all over the walls.
  14. Summer will never come if they get their way. ..............[]
  15. Nice to hear you have found what you're looking for......Welcome to the club.
  16. Too sc sc sc scarey for me....no way.....can't make me. Let me check with my sister, she is into that sort of thing...[:#]
  17. Sounds like you two are looking forward to the move........ENJOY ! The wife and I do not have a move in date set going into the much smaller home with a basement. The utilities are about half or less of where we are now and the neighborhood is a plus too.
  18. Bruce, is that long rectangle box in the background some sort of horn or whistle?
  19. I'd like to hear Electrocompaniet, they have nice looking stuff and very high $$ In answer to your question, yes they are 120w, and 200w for the qsc's. One qsc versus the other has more slam........weird? must be the old school technology. Sort of like Tigerwoods said.......... "it's going to take some real listening time to figure out what sounds the best"
  20. Joe, I'm rotating in and out of my system three different SS amps and they sound very different from one another. What suprised me was the QSC 1400 (an old one) wakes my woofers up a whole lot more than the newer QSC PLX 1202. The Sonographe by Conrad Johnson is so full of detail but the down side is no matter how loud I crank the volume it still sounds "delicate" . I'd really like to know what a powerful CJ sounds like some day.
  21. There are soooo many pictures I haven't been all the way through them.
  22. Has anyone noticed, especially the newer members....Amys Blog ? http://forums.klipsch.com/blogs/amy/default.aspx It's loaded with very cool pics right here in Indianapolis.
  23. Of couse someone could mosey over to the blue circle forum and find out, but I do remember that fellow over there mentioning using lot's of silicone one time.
