I would suggest searching the web for reviews, and if you have a high end audio dealer nearby, go and listen to what they have. The last headphones I bought were Audio Technicas back in the late seventies early eighties.

Regarding lawyers it is an inside job. By and large they are the ones who make the laws, and do so in such a way as to baffle most outsiders(those without the union card i.e. law degree).
