Had a couple of cars on the dyno recently that put out decent power. This S2000 made 474whp at 15 PSI and went on 2 days later to get the fastest time of the day at his next event. Lower curve is my S2000 at ~9 PSI. This one is an STi with a built motor and 31 PSI of boost on Gen 2 GTX 3582. Also, not too long ago, we flat-lined the dyno with the Taurus SHO.
  2. I grew up in Phoenix, but I spent about 8 years in Omaha after living in Colorado for 7 years. The heat+humidity in Omaha can be rough. It always seemed to downpour at night (and wake me up), then get really hot the next day and super humid. Winter caught me off guard. With not having a real winter growing up and then getting used to Colorado winters, Omaha was brutal for me and the reason why I finally left. I moved back to Colorado 4 years ago... I was trying to go back to Phoenix, but the wife wasn't on board. I get out to Omaha about twice a year in the summer, which I can do. My wife is from North of Grand Island, so she makes the trip often.
  3. LOL... My phone always knows better than me.
  4. Anything (ATV) worth having, to serve multiple roles, I'd plan on $8-10k, new. I live in the mountains, so my stuff gets used pretty regularly. In addition to plowing, I have a trailer to pull behind the ATV/UTV's to help with work around the property. We'll use them to go somewhere local as well... And, they're also just fun to go out and tool around in.
  5. Absolutely. I got rid of my previous plow machine when I bought these as I didn't want to maintain more than 2 machines, but the 570 will become the new plow machine.
  6. Nice, I looked into the Honda briefly as I am a big Honda fan (not fanboi). I specifically opted to not get the turbo model on these purchases. I didn't want any "turbo car problems". After tuning countless boosted race and street cars, owning a bunch, I know what happens. I wanted to focus on getting out on the trails. And, I don't feel like my tuned 900 is lacking power, even at 8-9k ft ASL.
  7. No. I've tuned a lot of Subarus and had an STi for 10 years. The water pump is not part of the timing belt tract on the EJ motors. I haven't looked at the FA motors, so I can't comment on them.
  8. Our Highlander was like this. Had the water pump fail on me on a 0F degree morning. Noticed the heat went away and then looked at the needle rising. Pulled over and got a tow. It didn't cause the timing to slip, however, if you're clueless and keep drive, yeah, it's done... But same with overheating. I'm just glad I had the car that day and not my wife, since it was hers. She would have cooked the motor or introduced some valves to some pistons.
  9. I got a few toys recently. I picked up a RZR S 900 for me and the wife and an Ace 570 for my daughter. I bought her and Ace 150 for Christmas and she's already surpassed it. I also bought 2 DynoJet PowerVision 3 units for tuning. I have an OTS map on the Ace, which gave it a slight bump and I tuned the 900 myself, which the increase was actually pretty substantial (I'll tune hers as well). Took them out on the trails just a couple days after purchase and my daughter is hooked!
  10. Yes, I still have it. I'll send you a PM.
  11. K22's and K77's are gone. The K55's are still available.
  12. That's not terrible. I just remembered looking for something that would fit what I wanted and then spent nearly $400 on it, and it was much bigger than I wanted for what it was... Although not a lot of money in the grand scheme, I expected it to not be a huge problem for me. The shelves don't support nearly any weight as they will flex and warp. The back warped so bad that the magnets did not really hold it on anymore. I will probably end up building something to get what I want. I found it extremely difficult to find something not overly HUGE AND EXPENSIVE to get something nice, with a door, and cooling.
  13. Honestly, not even worth that. Within a year, you'll hate it.
  14. If you can return that, do it. I had this... I was a total POS. It warped to crap and started falling apart. I left a review and pictures on Amazon. I ended up buying a cheap, small replacement without a door which has held up significantly better.
  15. I will be doing the black this weekend/next week. I will be using DuraTex. I am going to run some screws in flush or slightly sunk into the baffle in the same location the velcro was. I will then fill over them and finish with the DuraTex. I picked up some small magnets that will be able to use the sunken screws to hold the grill. Between these and my La Scala's (which I will also refinish this year), these will probably be the last set of real speakers I ever buy, so I want to make them like new.
  16. I am actually in the process of finishing a set of 1982 Heresy 1's. I'm looking forward to getting them done soon. I have replaced all the drivers (CT-120/A-55-G/CW-1228), recapped the crossovers and transferred everything to a smaller board, and braced the boxes. I picked up some 70th anniversary-like material for the grills and will be using magnets to hold them in place. These were in decent condition for being refinished when I bought them last year. I did have to re-glue some peeling veneer and splinters and sanding out some blemishes and such.

While tuning my S2000 on the dyno, Edge Autosport asked me to be on one of their videos (I rolled out of bed and put a hat on and haven't had a haircut since late Feb/early Mar.)
  18. Cars are kinda what I do. I play with a lot of them, just never know what I want. I have a few, but always get interested in a car like the OP just bought!
  19. Nice find. I've considered one of those, but then I find myself considering many different cars and realize I don't know what I want.

Got my track car on the dyno today and all went well. I made exactly the power I was wanting. My track tune is 8 PSI and ~380whp. I did push it up to 10 PSI to see what it would do, but it did fall off towards the top. I might have been able to preload the IWG actuator a little more (I have 7-8mm now... the recommended 2mm has never worked for me on any car) and it could be partially due to altitude and it starting to lose some steam up there. I will have some graphs emailed to me tomorrow... They'll be my track tune, 10 PSI tune, overlaid with the NA AP1 we had on today, and overlaid my STi graph. For now, this is what I have: Log from that pull: I didn't take any video, but the shop did take video and interviewed me, so I'll have video whenever that is released. Not sure I've posted it in this thread, which is more fitting, but I was on Netflix's Fastest Car, season 2 as the tuner to the Taurus SHO I posted earlier. Now I have to sort out some other things on the car and get it all back together, then back on track.

Status on this? What are you using for tuning?
  22. Remove the treatment in those corners and put those "cornerhorns" in the corners they are meant to be in. Or replace with La Scala and a few subs.
  23. If it were me, I'd sand and coat with DuraTex.
  24. The beauty of a good horn is that it needs to do little work, by comparison. The K-33 isn't all that nice of a driver, but it works well in these enclosures.
