Damn, I hope a Klipsch enthusiast gets them. If I didn't have La Scalas already and love them, RF-83's are way up there for me.

Help with center speaker over fireplace as part of a 9.2.4 setup.

I stand by what I said. I don't even let my wife have that control. -
Dammit... These are tempting to try.

You said "girlfriend" and not wife... Make a huge center channel speaker, and hide it. -
Refinishing and upgrading Heresy 1's
yamahaSHO replied to yamahaSHO's topic in Technical/Restorations
I loved doing this speakers and loved the way they turned out, but I just didn't have a place for them, realistically. I don't need multiple systems, didn't have another space to really use them, and I have La Scalas that I love. That said, I sold these to a buddy that had been looking for a good set of Heresy's for awhile. They exceeded his expectations and has been converted to a Klipsch and horn guy. I also sold him my "Klipsch Sonosub" I built about 10 years ago as it was a great match for the Heresy, and I ordered an SVS PC-4000 to better keep up with the La Scalas (I was actually surprised how well my sub kept up). I originally bought these for a garage, then made them so nice, I thought they should be in a main system. I am glad these will live on and be taken care of. -

If you haven't seen "Getaway Driver" on Discovery +, I have a car competing on it... A 1994 Ford Taurus SHO... Which, does very, very well. I even made it onto a clip (guy spraying the champagne). Catch our car on episodes 6, 7, and 8... That may have spoiled it a little. Also, here is video of when I went out to tune the car (nitrous was not used on the TV show):

I couldn't help myself... Got another RZR. This one is a bit faster.

I replaced and modified too much to tell you. I just looked for quality cable that was also fairly basic. -

Refinishing and upgrading Heresy 1's

They mostly fell off on their own. I used 3M spray adhesive to put them back on. -
I have a virtually brand new Emotiva BasX A-100 for sale. I picked it up earlier this year for a separate system I planned to run, but plans changed and the speakers are also going away. I actually enjoyed this amplifier over my previous DTA-120, but I just don't need wit anymore. Item ships in original packaging and includes everything original to the unit. $215 shipped, CONUS. For additional shipping costs, I'll also include a like-new external sound card as I only use it for measuring and don't need it as an option anymore.

Final touch was putting the original tags back on. -
Personally, I think the price is reasonable as they look to be in pretty good shape.

You want to compare a new product being sold for retail vs a used set of pretty old speakers? Is this even serious? Please don't be serious...
-
If I were serious, I'd e-mail and confirm. By the rest of the description, or lack there of, I bet he didn't mean to price it like that... But I could be wrong.
-
I didn't see anything in that auction stating he'd separate. They are pretty clean; price seems fine.
-
They have new woofers at a minimum. Only people I see keeping Klipsch used prices down are the people here. Let them go up in price.

Went ahead and did the grilles... I'm pretty happy with how they turned out! They look a bit familiar now. 😛 -
My wife made them, though she pieced them together from several different 'black out' curtains she bought. I can ask her for a link. EDIT: Here you go - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015KMICNE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&fbclid=IwAR3aNnA1V_KvxXpnjLIYjzF4rpidzTzGirUG2wKGsaNKPLuR4pJgMRs8bQ4

I would not have cared either. At any age

I messaged him. If I can get a friend in the area to work with him to get them to me, I'd love to refinish them and audition them. My only issue is that my space isn't good for something requiring corners, but that won't stop me from trying them out.

La Scala Owners: What Kind of Music Sounds Best?

With a good sub, everything sounds good. -
Man... It would take some work, but something like this is what I'd do again.
