  1. I keep seeing new terminology on this forum all the time like "crest factor', "head room", and about a zillion words to describe distortion. Let's see we have harmonic distortion, intermodulation distortion, transient distortion, time-delay distortion, DAC distortion, mechanical distortion, glide tone acoustical distortion, phasing distortion, coloration distortion, and "human ear response syndrome distortion". What about humidity, atmospheric pressure, and when the furnace blower turns on? JJK
  2. I had a 16 hp Kohler engine on my Dixon for twelve years with no problem, then sold the mower to my buddy and it's still running fine. JJK
  3. Twistedcrankcammer: I never heard of anyone roaching out a Kohler engine. Run it out of oil? Lead foot? Modified it? JJK
  4. Trusses can hold a huge amount of weight and the roof will never sag. You will be able to park your car on those trusses. JJK
  5. I would have to find some sucker to crank that baby. JJK
  6. You also might try and older dot matrix printer if you only print text. They are solid as a rock and use roll paper. A box of roll paper will last you to Armageddon. JJK
  7. Well, in 1959 when I graduated we went to the Che Parie night club and watched the Mcguire Sisters with the orchestra being conducted by Skitch Henderson. And had a big *** steak and champagne. JJK
  8. After many years (1965) I figured that mice would get into my K-horns. When I opened them up for refinishing they were clean. Wondering if Klipsch sprayed the inside with some magic stuff, but to last 43 years? JJK
  9. A Betamx player is about the only thing I don't have. But I have a Beta SP player. Even an 8 track player. JJK
  10. I suspect during this next depression that there will be a run on coat hangers to hook up speakers. JJK
  11. The "slab" thing over the 2' of gravel of course has to be approved by the building inspector and comply with current building codes. Where I live it would not be approved unless you used conventional below frost methods (30") JJK
  12. If you change out the old woofers of the K-horns and Cornwalls to the new Crites woofers do you need to change the crossover networks also? How much power can they handle? What do you do with the old woofers? JJK
  13. Well, I'm glad they are worth something which is better than nothing. I would also like to see what kind of computer mathematics and chaos principle diagrams that are used to compute the final owner of the mortgage. JJK
  14. One of the reasons they have no value is nobody knows who owns what. First the mortgage is sold to another bank then they sell the principle to another entitiy and the interest to another entitiy and these items might be sold 100 times over. After 100 transactions I declare that I am the owner of the interest part of that mortgage. Who now owns the principle? Maybe it's the Chinese Bank of Who Hoo. No, the Chinese Bank of Who Hoo has sold 50% of the principle to the Bank of Iran. The Bank of Iran has sold it's piece to Wahovia. Now I ask you, how the hell are you going to value this mortgage? JJK
  15. They don't put enough pickle on the top. JJK
  16. Yes, he is good. I always wondered how he kept his teeth in such good shape and he didn't get fat. JJK
  17. I don't remember his name but he had the double necked guitar at times and he didn't want to tour anymore. JJK
  18. My technique is easy---I go into the tire facility and point out which of all them purty tires I want and tell them put em on. JJK
  19. Did they have the substitute guitar guy or the regular? (Stands on the far right) JJK
  20. The problem with buying up the "toxic stuff" is that no one, anywhere, anytime, any institution, any computer can put a value on the stuff. The only person who knows the valure of his mortgage is the person that walked away from it. That means its worth is in the negative scale of evaluation which hasn't been created yet. In my astute evaluation the stuff is worth "zero" dollars. JJK
  21. As long as the crap don't hit the fan, I hate tilting crappers. Life is hard. They make a repair thingy to fix the pipe. JJK
  22. That's not true in my case. The best I have seen was 5247 for color accuracy. Typical slides taken in the 50's and 60's have blue decay marks which I have to photoshop out the defects. Takes a long time to fix them and bring back the faded colors, lost contrast, poor gamma, burned centers, fingerprints, and lastly hairs. JJK
