  1. I use the PLC-II (5.1) setting on the receiver feeding the entire system with separate receiver feeding the K horns to enable very quick volume changes between the "center channel/sub/side" and the K horns. This setting gives you the real gut pounding center output you can play with to your hearts content. It also provides for the main receiver volume to control all volumes with one knob. You also have separate bass, treble, loudness controls between the two systems. The equalizer is only on the K-horn system which boosts the low end to match the sub. All balanced with the cheapo Shack SPL meter and built in pink noise level tests of the main receiver in 7.1 mode. JJK
  2. If you just added full length peek roof vents your attic temp would be the same as outside temp. These are very cheap and will not allow bugs to enter after you cut about a 1" wide slot the entire length of the roof. Actually you can do only a ten foot section per peek and it will accomplish the same thing. After doing this to my garage, barn and home roofs the temperature buildup was non-existant. JJK
  3. Who is the number one worst guitarist? JJK
  4. For every action there is a reaction---does this mean there is energy transferred to the Earth by windmills? Does this slow down the rotation of the Earth? JJK
  5. Crosley was also making all aluminum 5 cylinder blocks with aluminum overhead cam heads rated at 26 hp. This was about a thousand years ago I think. JJK
  6. I find it amazing that at the end of the Democratic Clintonian era we had a 1 trillion surplus. Now at the end of the Bushonian era we have a 10 trillion deficit, where the Congress does nothing. What happened to the tax and spend Democrats? They all converted to Republicans. Like Eisenhower said, "Beware of the military industrial complex". Like congress said in the late 1960's, "We can't let all that extra money build up in the Social Security program so lets pass a law whereby we can temporarily spend the crap out of it". Like the flying saucer aliens said in 1947, "You have to even out the wealth in your world to prevent future economic strife", so we came up with NAFTA/CAFTA to enable industries to move to other countries to bust the Unions and the American middle class. Why else would you see 5 American Presidents walking hand in hand in a parade demonstrating for the passage of NAFTA? Working nicely. The rich get filthy rich and the middle class gets to be poor again, men working two jobs and the wife working one job with poverty in sight at every bend. Then the rich (banks, credit card people, medical insurance) duke the middle class again with obscene penalties and unregulated legal shenanigans to bust them down further to the super poor class. Amen. JJK
  7. Oldbuckster: Thank you for the prayers. You are allowed to have a beer on prayer break. JJK
  8. Never like Hendrix when I was young, never liked him when I was middle aged, and I still don't like him now that I am old. Hendrix couldn't recognize a melody from a swimming elephant. And I am being nice. JJK
  9. Yes, unless you are safety-belted to a chair at the sweet spot. My sweet spot is at the wall so I continously move around the room with the center channel filling in nicely. JJK
  10. 12 db down? Why bother at all with the center channel. This will not work in my system. Yuk. I want to hear the center, not pretend to hear it. JJK
  11. Speaking of gravity, there are small variances in the strength of gravity and that should be measured at every track at every meet. Just thiink of how many asterisks could be added to a record, gravity, wind, moisture, asphalt condition, grade of track, steroids, oooops. JJK
  12. Little old lady writing the check? Yes, it was a 1hr documentary program on Social Security. The small building with the computer hubs and the little old lady. (the only employee operating the computer) She takes the daily payroll take at the end of the day which at the time the documentary was made was 3.6 billion and the requirement to cover Social Security expenses being approximately 2 billion. She then signs a computer written check for the 1.6 billion overage and sends it to the Treasury department. This occurrs every day. When asked what the money to the Treasury department is used for she didn't have a clue. Congress made this a law during the Lindon Johnson term to allow the Treasury to use the "extra" money as they see fit. I assume that the money is still "owed" to Social Security. There are also "rumors" that the government spin/PR department is using this to make the national debt appear better than it actually is. Don't know how though. JJK
  13. Like I said in previous threads if you can change the computer chip to get about 6 degrees more timing your milage will increase about 20%. Your nitrous oxide polution will also go out of site. The computer maintains the combustion temp at 1450 F for minimum nitrous oxides. If you have to "E" check the car then you can legally do nothing. (not even change the rear end ratio from stock) One way to accomplish this also is to junk the Ford computer and install an aftermarket Holly injection setup. But the EPA will not like you anymore and treat you lower than dog crap. JJK
  14. Tom Adams: Absolute bunk. If the payroll deductions were not stopped at $90,000 income Social Security/Medicare would be totally solvent. Over half of the daily collected payroll which is over the requirement for Social Security costs for that day is sent to the treasury which in turn is spent by the powers that be for the Iraq war. 15. Like Cole Younger says, "It's a wonderment"."I know what holes feel like". JJK
  16. Colterphoto1: Doillies? You must be about 100 years old. JJK
  17. I know it's a bummer not to be able to hold a beer in each hand. JJK
  18. There has to be something else to this vehicle for that much milage like electric motor, batteries, solar cells. You can't get 235 mpg with a 639 lb car on gas. It's a violation of the laws of physics. The smallest bikes only get 100 mpg with 150 cc engines. It's the same nonsense with the other Aero vehicle that gets 300 mpg and of course it had batteries and electric motor and it was in fact an electric car with a small gasolene motor. The higher the price of gas goes so goes the amount of baloney in the sandwich. JJK
  19. You are all correct. I just keep getting confused on all the upgrades that occurr about every 10 minutes, like stereo PCM, AC3, 5.1, 7.1, DTS, and that's just audio. Lets see, AVI-1, AVI-2, MP3, MPEG 1, MPEG2, HDV, AVCHD-Sony, AVCHD-Canon, AVCHD-Panasonic, WMV, WMV-HD, MP4, M2T, M2TS, MPT, JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, PSD, Bluray, HD-DVD, DVIX, and about 10K of others. JJK
  20. I would think you would have to be "anti-dyslexic?" to do the cords backwords. Yeah I caught him on Crossroads 2007 with the dual drums thing. My favorite is the Doyle, Derek, and Eric thing at 100 db SPL. JJK
  21. I lean on my K-horns all the time looking out the window watching my giant sequoias grow while stroking the fine finish on the top of the K-horns. (my own finish) I also lean up against the top grille piece I designed which is built like a Sherman tank. JJK
  22. I can't believe that guy plays left handed and strings his guitar backwards. JJK
  23. Dr Who: It seems to me with your knowledge and expertise that you would use something much more complex than Movie Maker. JJK
  24. So what is the difference between the XA2 and the A35? JJK
