  1. I was falling asleep on the sofa listening to my Ella Fitzgerald disc, when UPS shows up with my new Kimber Silver Streaks, 2 pair, for cd player and amp. I have been using monster cable m1000 that I have had for 10 years. I went to the door, opend the boxes, and installed them, went back and laid down to finish my doze off. I was very suprised at the sound difference the kimber made. A couple of things I have noticed right away. One, the cymbles appear to slide up and down on there stands, you can hear a tiny squeak in the base pedal, her voice sounded a little more wet in the lips, and you could here what I think was the valves clapping in the brass section. The down side to the Kimber, compared to the m1000 is I can hear more noise when the volume is all the way down on the blueberry. All in all the Kimber Silver Streak does make a considerable difference in my system mostly for the better, however I am not sure it was a 400$ difference though.Ill keep you posted on the new tubes which I have commin for the blueberry, at 320$ It will be a compareable cost to the Kimber. By the way I took you advise 3-d, and orderd a set of a-frames, also a set of E188CC made by Philips, had to buy a pair of these, so I have one if anyone wants to try, let me know. Rob
  2. YOUR GOOFY. I have had 77 klipsch horns, 92 klipsch horns, and I have the chorus2 now only, not because of price, because of sound, and room size. They are heritage all the way. before making a un-educated statement, try listening to a set. Maybe you might belive they were heritage if PWK would have put the wimpy 15" woofer rated at 500 watts peak, instead of te commercial 15" cast woofer rated at 1000 watts peak. Heritage, yea, premium heritage.
  3. The same thing happend to me a month or so ago. Off E-bay two chorus2s from california, I live in florida. I lost one base too, destroyed. So what I have for you is the MDF laminated Oak plywood, brand new sheet I had to buy, I rippid it down to proper width already. You will have to take and have a carpenter miter cut the size you need. With natural tounge oil, I have that too, it matches perfectly. It cost me about 120$ to set up for this, wood, router bit, tounge oil, but I have what you need.It is the same wood as Klipsch uses, and the same router groove, and same color, let me know, you pay for shipping and you can have a strip of the wood. 4. Just was wondering. I used to live there years ago, and was wondering how my buddies at Sound Exchange and Classic stereo are doing?
  5. Yea that was it, the transnova from accoustat. I had one of these 8-10 years ago with a pair of K-Horns, it did sound very good, at 200 wpc, it was the best sounding SS amp which I have heard on my K-horns.Boy did it plain rock.

  11. Lacquer has what is called a full gloss.when it is buffed as you said it reveals its gloss, you are incorrect saying that you acheive gloss by the amount of sanding or buffing. The sheen is adjusted by whats called flattening compound, the amount of this added adjusts sheen, not the buffing process. Hence 30 sheen is a semigloss made from gloss with 2 oz. of flattening compound per gallon. He will need regular black lacquer, and the cheapest and best place to purchase is an automotive paint store. Klipsch probobly used a regular cabinet grade production lacquer, this is very common stuff and will touch up easy. If you would like me to give you the details on the process you will need to do to touch up or re-finish your speakers perfectly, pm me and I can give you my phone number. The same goes for anyone on this sight looking to spruce up their speakers, cabinets or whatever, This is my specialty in life and it is what I am able to help all with here on this forum. I wish it was my knowledge of audio equipment but I am far from you guys on that.
  12. Dream system, maybe no dreams of systems, but Top Fuel, yeah, thats my dream.
  13. I have a paradigm servo 15, and I have listened to many different subs. The servo 15 is one of the best available.
  14. Yup, Im fixin to take me some melons up to the corner to sell.
  15. If you getting away from klipsch, then check out the paradigm reference line with servo sub and diapole surrounds, thats what I use for HT, and it will be hard to beat.
  16. It is almost like my neighborhood association here on 2 channel lately, will I be receiving a notice on my mailbox?
  17. For the money your looking at spending, and what it seems your trying to do, the best luck I have had in the past, for 350 is an old Accoustat SS 200 watt per channel amp. It is a real powerhouse, and sounds good with klipsch, it is not as bright as many others which I have had.
  18. By the way son, down here in my parts,we may feed yall to the gators for words like that.
  19. Man were not offended by anything you said, we are just having fun with it. Wait one minute please, I need to change my hearing aid battery. Rob
  20. Is the klipsch black lac shiney or satin, 30 sheen will be a semi-gloss.
