You can pick up an Infocus X1 projector right now for under $800 and a screen for another $150. Then you could pick up a moderate quality television for your normal viewing and use the projector for your theater. David ---------------- It has has got to be good for regular viewing to. I am not going to spend that kind of money on something i would only use for a once in the blue moon (for now) movie. But if there are front projectors for under that i would be glad to hear about those to. i want the best quality, largest picture i can get for that amount of money. Thank you all for your input and any future inputs. ---------------- Where are located? 5. Allan, Ill take your dirty viynal, I love my new record cleaner, speaking of which, any self respecting audiophile with a high end turntable should always wash a new record before playing it. They must of had budget equipment to play the record you sold them on, their fault for not knowing better.
  6. Parrot, Allan, Why dont you two exchange adresses and get it on.

  17. ---------------- On 9/18/2004 5:42:17 PM Griffinator wrote: White Crush is a major bugaboo in the DVI format. The stepping of the white levels in DVI are fixed digital bits (0 to 255) as opposed to analog transmission (RGB/Component) where they are natural intensities, not limited by bit depth. This stepping creates a phenomenon where, at a certain point, the intensity of white light transmission reaches saturation and one intensity of white cannot be differentiated from another intensity. Until such time as the bit depth is increased to a point where this differentiation is no longer visible to the human eye, DVI will suffer in quality vs. component or RGB transmission of similar signals. This was the big reason why people on the forum jumped when I was offering the Zenith HD-upscaling DVD players (that transmitted the upsampled signal via component) for sale, and why everyone was so disappointed at the announcement that Zenith was halting production of these players in order to "upgrade" the firmware to a fixed 1080i-through-DVI-only output, rendering them no better than the Samsung. My simple answer is to skip over this pile of DVD players with their upsampling capabilities and just employ an outboard scaler (I sell the Nextvision 6 for the budget-conscious at around $250) so you can use RGB or component out to your display instead of DVI. ---------------- Damn, Griff your on the ball!! More technical data than Ive taken in a week! Carry on...

I just can't imagine anyone not liking 4 Khorns, 2 vertical Cornwalls, and a La Scala playing at the same time with your favorite tunes playing? Call me crazy! ---------------- Loud yes, very loud, quality playback, no way. Areosmith sounds great to 2nd row too. Go back to row 50, and hear the effect of the guy mixing the sound for the amplitheater their playing in.When the volume goes down, quality has to come up, or youll be cranking them back up to "feel" the music instead of "hearing" what the recording was ment to sound like.
  19. Now you need a record cleaner. LPs will then impress you.

  21. I have only my amps in the listening room, front end in the other. I am useing MIT s3 3m w selectable impedence interconnects through the wall from the blueberrry. The MMF-7 can use regular rca patch cord to the pre, I am currently useing kimber silver streak .5m from the MMF to the blueberry. Do you need special capacitance cables for turntables?

  24. The guy I purchased my chorus2s from also has the chorus1s, he sold the chorus2s and kept the chorus1s because he thought the 1s sound better. If that helps, I love the chorus2 sound through 2a3 set amps, ver good match.
