  1. Wow, cool. I remember trying to spin my record backwards as a kid and never had results. Very cool site.
  2. Why would you ever want to record your records to CD? A nice table sounds much better then anything digital. IMHO
  3. There is nowhere to go beyond 2-channel unless you're a movie buff. If you love audio, any more than 2 channels is a gimick or joke.
  4. Yes, the newer Yamaha's are not as bright as in the past. The old Yammy's made Adcom units sound dark. WOW.
  5. The problem is probably from your amplification. After that, I'd check my power. I had problems with a pair of Forte IIs before I figured out my fridge was a demon. It was resolved with a used and very inexpensive Adcom line enhancer.
  6. I need k-77 horns for my Heresies. Can any of you expert audiophiles assist? Where should I look?
  7. I ended up going with black satin over the grey. Ya'll were right. I located some Heritage badges, replaced the drivers and crossovers, now I have a pair of "?..new...?" LaScalas! They didn't sound as good as I thought they might with my MC2205. The synergy I remember having between my poor long lost Quartets and MC2505 was magic. The LaScalas do however sound wonderful with my 40WPC S-25 Integrated ReVox. Even better than I imagined. The overall sound quality of the newer ReVox kicked the poop out of my Mac. Preamps used with the Mac were C712 and C28.
  8. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of these for my LaScalas? Where should I search?
  9. The ninjas normally only enter the room on weekends after 11pm. -Well, some Monday nights also. hehe. The first coat of paint took about 2 days to dry. It has been 4.5 days since it was applied. There are a couple of areas of concern where it looks like lent landed on the speakers before they were dry. I'll sand the troubled areas down before applying another coat. It is cool and dry in central IL today. I'm not in any type of hurry. I want the speakers to be the exact way "I" want them. The color I picked for the cabinets is quite a bit darker than the Altec V.O.T. My color is also a gloss. I've been secretly in love with these speakers since I was 14 years old. LaaaaaaScaaaaaaLaaaa. Wow, that was 20 years ago. Whew. Don't you just love this hobby!
  10. Thanks, Duh...I feel like a moron. I see the connection points behind the caps. My old crossovers were missing jumpers, wire and much else. I thought I had to wire the Sub, Squaker and Tweet all sepertate. Thanks for the heads up.
  11. AA type arrived today and there are no insructions.!?!?!?!!!??? I have information regarding amp hook-up and bi-wire hook-up, but no info on how to install the X-overs. My crossovers I have now are trashed so it is impossible to "work backwards". Does anyone have a file or instructions they could forward to me? Any information would help. Here is my email: tuckfard04@yahoo.com Thank you all in advance. Best - BJ
  12. My original plan to either strip and sand the speakers to bare wood (found out they're plywood...damn) or create a faux wood grain finish have gone by the way. At my local Mom and Pop hardware store I picked up a gallon of enamel base paint/poly mix. After sanding the very nasty flat black finish, filling the nicks/gouges with water putty and more sanding, I applied my first coat of paint. The freaking first coat of paint took 21/2 days to dry. But the finish, oh the finish is like glass! WoW! Its gorgeous. Im putting the 2nd coat on tonight and hope to add many after that. The color is called moon dust, a very dark grayish blue. I left the inner parts of the cabinet black for depth. My idea behind the multiple coats of paint is to have ninja throwing stars bounce off my speakers. Ill send a link for pictures when Im finished. Im very happy with the way this project is turning out. I should receive my new x-overs I ordered tomorrow. Now lets hope this goes as well. Wish me luck.
  13. Hi all, I just purchased new type AA crossovers for my LaScalas I'm restoring. Can anyone tell me what type of wire I should use to rewire the speakers. The wires used now look like old extension cord wire??? I would like to rewire each speaker in both cabinets. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
  14. Is that a 2205 and a 113 in the background?
