  1. I drive them with an old school Accuphase p500, and most of the time the meter does not pass 1w and the volume is already very loud. So I guess it's pretty safe, right? :-)
  2. I made this mod years ago. Recently, I swap out the K22 and put in a pair of JBL 123a with the same modded crossover. Been listening over 2 weeks with very positive impression. Faster, punchier, better transcient. If you have a pair of spare 123a, I would strongly suggest to try them on your Heresies. Just my 2 cents :-)
  3. Hi Claude, will definitely keep you updated. Currently, my Heresy's crossovers are modded based on this thread: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/21969-heresy-crossover-mod-less-bright/ After reading your thread, I started searching this forum and found from this thread that JBL woofers can be used as drop-in replacement for the K22: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/6768-damping-heresy-cabinets/ So a few days ago, I tried putting JBL 123A from my 4310 into my Heresies (see attached pics). After a few days of listening, I really like the sound. Faster, punchier bass that goes a little bit lower than K22. I'll try porting and stuffing the box first with these 123A to see how it sounds. Also after reading your thread, I started to understand some speaker parameters, and found that JBL 123A has lower Fs (25Hz) than the Eminence (50 Hz). Does it mean anything? I'll try to tune the box to 40 Hz. After playing with the JBL 123A, I'll try the Eminence (already arrived home). Cheers :-D
  4. I'm really glad I found this thread right before listing my Heresy 1 in local hi-fi trading forum. Will definitely order a pair of Eminence Delta Pro 12A and the ports. Thanks Claude!!
  5. Hi John, I did the mod you suggested in the other thread, the one with 16 ohm resistor. And then I found this thread, with changed cap values and a 11 ohm resistor. Could you please tell me which mod is better to your ears? Thank you very much!
  6. Hi, I'm a newbie to Heresy. Just bought a pair of Heresy I from eBay last month. Did the mod suggested by Klipschguy here, attenuated the tweeter by 3 db. My Chinese made KT88 (triode connected) push pull, modded with all RMG resistors and Jensen coupling capacitors: My living area in Hong Kong is really really small: Internal I live this pair of speakers very much. Will get a pair of metal stands for them later.
  7. Hi John, I just got my pair of Herey I last month from eBay. Did the mod suggested by Klipschguy in the other thread and there's certain extent of improvement. Will follow your ideas to move the mid tap to 01 and add the resistor next. Thanks for your suggestion!
  8. I'm a newbie to Heresies I. Got my pair from eBay last month. Did the mod today. The sound is getting better. Thanks Klipschguy!! Step 1: Step 2: Step 3: But as John said in anther thread, the mid horn is also a little bid too harsh to me. Next, I'll follow John's suggestion (Here's the thread.) to move the mid horn's tap to 01 and add the 16 ohm resistor. This is John's idea: Cheers!!
