    A Review

Today I saw, heard and examined a pair of Klipsch top of the line Palladium P-39 towers. All I can say is I will be buying a pair! They were under powered with a integrated tube amp,as it was the sound was more than great. Natural and majestic, with the hallmark Klipsch dynamics. Goergeous speakers,in pics these look good. In person these are works of art. I am sold, I will after buy the center and smaller Palladium towers to be used as sourrounds. Here goes my money again. [:@] [] Klipsch hear me, you have a soon to be Palladium owner. I may pick up the bookshelf Palladium too. To use with my main audio PC system. Around 5K/pair the price is good. The P-39 well 20K but what do you want, these are superb. Tank goodness my local dealer just recieved the whole palladium line,as they will show them at the Montreal audio show. This way I cancelled my extra subs and are going for Klipsch's best. To keep company to the smallish and budget two pairs of RF7's,RC7.
  3. Velodyne's F1500 and even the HGS18/DD18 do not have the output capabilities to follow largehorn loaded Klipsch mains in a large room. The Danley horn subs make the largest Velo sound like a weakling handicaped sub. There is no comparison, the amount of clean deep bass is in another league. The 1812 is not much more capable than the DD18. Nice unit if you use two, then the price is way out the door.In this case two JL Gotham subs take care of the 1812 with ease. For a mere $1600 you have a Danley and a proper power amp /crossover to match your mains. There is no free lunch and you will not find anything worthy below that that can keep up with your mains while providing true 20Hz performance.
  4. A very good sub the SVS flagship. I would try (if at all possible) set the sub up front not far from the left or right mains. And go from there. Duals will smooth out the in room response and add to the headroom, worthy upgrade. I think I will call the Canadian distributor and order dual Ultras myself...wait I running out of possible space to place them...LOL Sad but true. As for huge,no this sub is not small. You should see what a BIG sub is. Try the Conquest, its starts to be large. Some Danley subs are large.
  5. A very bad idea, any TUNED subwoofer, woofer or bass driver pushed to reproduce below tune = BOTTOMING OUT fast, very fast. If you understand how the port(or PR)works you will know the active will quickly be beyond Xmax and hit the mechanical excursion limits. You may very well end with a damaged driver. With sealed it is another game, and even here you need to run simaulations to visualise the mechanical and thermal limitations.
  6. Danley kit subs sold by Danley direct. Sorry to point these and not any other sub but these anihalate the competition in output and SQ at high output. For around $1000 plus shipping plus amp(200-$300) you have a monster that can keep up with large Klipsch horn loaded speakers.
  7. These Orcas are very cunning, piss one off and they will play with you like a helpless toy. Do any of you feel in any way surprised? You have rogue humans who are criminals, you will have rogue animals. BTW I want the job. []
  8. Please these cheapie Monster earphones are bested by the inexpensive Klipsch S4's. You want some quality start with the Monster Turbine and Turbine Pro, at these prices the Custom 2 and Custom 3 take care of the Monster counterparts. I have them all and my favorite in ear is the Klipsch Custom 3, to do better you need the Shure 530(best in ear before you enter custom in ear monitors). Do do clearly better we are talking JH13's and UE11's,here you pay over $1100 for a custom fit and sound quality few great speakers match.
  9. Congrats to Dtel, Now you will own some descent little headphones.
  10. RIGHT ON! GO CANADA GO! We beat you USA ...HA HA HA take that. The most GOLD and the biggest prize of all Hockey GOLD MEDALISTS! HA [] Now I feel BIG,HUGE so massive I cannot move from my chair!
  11. Well Klipschers after the Montreal audio show I will buy a nice new Klipsch palladium sub to add to my Klipsch sub collection. This will be in perfect timing with my new TC Sounds LMS-5400 towers of power (four LMS-5400 18" per tower!) powered by dual Crown iTech 8000 amps. Yep I am back to my first hobby and craze...subs. In multiples and with a displacement only those owning fan subs can match. I am preparing all my tools to fabricate the cabinets, these will look good. A departure for the utilitarian(well built still) cabinets I have made in the past. [] I even purchased a large Delta press drill for this project. Hey Jay...so how is your lonely 18" LMS-Ultra now? []
  12. I will start with one, then add...[] I like how "thin" the cabinet is, I will "hide" them along the walls! Tommorrow I am ordering . Shipping will be around $260 so it is very acceptable. Ah my first Danley sub and probably one of many. []
  13. I will be buying one. [] Just have to get my quote with the shipping ...and I will pay ...ship...WOHA. Long live subwoofers. []
  14. Dinky apartment wiring....LOL [] Dude, the wiring was redone to my specs, I have more juice you can have in two regular single family homes. Dinky wiring ... [] I have several large transformers in the basement, each transformer capable of feeding any audio system you may dream of. And yes the subs were playing, that is the thing I can make them blend perfectly or add so much bass it feels like a competition van with a walled off cabin.
  15. I am no "Gazillionaire" , I wish I was one. [] I am but a poor boy from a poor family feasting on Ramen minute soups...ok maybe not that bad. Some of the best values in subs the classic HSU VTF3 , not expenive and will dig deep, good output. SVS cylinder Plus series subs, again not expensive and a great performer. Looking at your gear description you are not on the street in a cardboard box either. []
  16. Correct on all three counts ? I am a mad man,I would not have it any other way and yes I live in a apartment. Not a normal apartment... []
  17. Well the "sub" is formed of 20 modules containing 15 and 18" drivers, driven by close to 60KW of amplification powered by over a dozen dedicated lines(30 and 20AMP). In this low quality clip filmed with my iPod Nano you can see most of the "sub". I will have to shoot another clip this time all well lit,to show the amps. I have to respect this creature as it can do real damage when pumped up to a too high SPL. It is a scary device that can be used only a few drivers at a time or all drivers at once. There are few people who go so far and further in the mad quest for bass. Remember it is all in good fun, I do not compete with anyone here just with my drive. The layout has slightly changed as shown in the video, the two center 15" modules are now on the right side and in this spot ,two Acoupower 18's stand. The mains in the clip are none other than the Klipsch RF-7 and RC7 center sitting on MoPad's on another sub/stand. If link does not work, just copy and paste in your browser...
  18. What do you want me to say about I sub that I do now know(no experience with).Sorry However based on "subs" of this type I have heard and tested... At best it could be very average. All subs of this type I heard are underperforming, limited extension and low output when things go low(here the tuning will limit the extension...big time). Try a TC Sounds LMS-Ultra mounted in a brick solid cabinet powered by a Crown iTech 6000, it will leave 99% of commercial subs in the gutter when SQ and output are key. [] Yeah in DA GUTTA in all CAPS! Now pile a few of these and add a few 18's to the mix...oh no my sickness is renewed! Time to order the 21" Maelstrom's and build a four driver Godzilla powered by my unused Crown iTech 8000 (KING O BASS). Yeah ,time to build ... See what you did, I was starting to enjoy finer music on my headphones...like Rostropovich best performances, Tommy Emmanuel's acoustic guitar genius and more...no need for stinking subs here. [] Well ok J S Bach Toccata played on a massive pipe organ NEEDS SUBS ,MASSIVE SUBS, HUGE SUBE that put the smallish BS to shame. And my wall sure does this masterpiece justice.
  19. Kidding about? Hear the mysterious stranger AKA TheEAR ! If I speak then people will unmask the legendary TheEAR. Maybe in one of my future clips. [] One thing is sure, the clips are of rubbish quality as I used my iPod Nano to film and light was obviously on the lowish side.I will post full HD clips in a not too distant future.
  20. [] Yes Klipschers please do not laugh. For I am insane and have recorded a few cipls with my high tech ubber HD cam...located inside the iPod Nano 8 and 16GB I have purchased a few months back. Excuse the quality and light, but you get a small idea... Later I will post more if you want showing my larger system and...much more audio gear. So... My demented desk O headphones... http://www.youtube.com/user/bsod4u2#p/a/u/1/NXPWNmaNw5g My new Wadia dock and the small modest sub that keeps it company... []
  21. God bless , I will pray for you....[] ...may all my headphones shine on me. [:'(]
  22. Germerikan, Good post and the sad truth, america and went down as the greedy business owners wanted to fill their pockets very fast. They gave the other side tools and know how to beat and keep growing while america fell on its face.See no war was needed to overcome this obstacle! The clowns will say "buy it is cheaper" , yes it is ...how much cheaper? Slightly less expensive and you get GARBAGE you have to replace often and in the end PAY MORE. Plus jobs(wealth of a nation) has drifted away !!! How much dumber can the savage capitalists get? Not much ,their blind fanatical drive only matched by their greed for profit at all costs. Yes it is cheaper for those who still have jobs, for the ones who lost jobs it is out of reach. Savage capitalism is like a cancer that will eat its way thru a great nation and leave it in debt, with countless families who used to work on the street or close. Losing even their homes! Proof is today, and it is ugly, yes lets close our eyes and pretend it is all a bad dream. A banking system that rewards crooks and directors who asign their own huge bonuses for making bad decisions! A system that rewards incompetence and sub par performance cannot work. It is doomed to fail and in a grand way. You can ignore it all all you want, it will not ignore YOU. So what it will be the blue pill or the red pill Alice?.
  23. Russ, Capitalism is great, savage capitalism is not much better than..the red regime. Both stink from miles away. The ideal system is a form of capitalism with some socialism injected, these work best(proof is in front of you around the world). Too much to the left or right and you have extremism that fails BIG time.
  24. Russ, Selling headphones! No way, this does not change the fact I gave to two local charity groups and even donnated to the SPCA. I am not a "good" Christian and will never be,but this does not mean I am a cold blood savage capitalist(who says God bless you way too often) either. []
