I've gotta agree. HDTV is a huge improvement over regular TV. My service overs 4 channels in HDTV. I'm really looking forward to the day when all channels are broadcasted in HDTV format.

Thanks everyone. Based on your input I'll scrap the 5805 idea and will start looking at amps instead. I'll let you know what's on the short list once I narrow it down.

I have a Denon 3805 and am considering and upgrade to outboard amps for all 7 channels or trading the 3805 in on a Denon 5805. Any recommendations?

I had JBL S412P speakers before getting my RF7's.

I've heard a lot of people say that Plasma TV's burn out in 4 or 5 years? Is this fact or fiction?

The RC-7 sounds great. It has a much fuller sound than the JBL S-Center that it replaced.

Good news everyone. I found a dealership in Huntsville that had a 2003 maple RC-7 that was purshased to have in the showroom so people could see what the maple finish looks like. I picked it up for $400 last Friday. Got it home, hooked it up and ran auto EQ on my receiver. The speaker sounds great.

I've got a lead on a RC-7 demo speaker. Going to take a look at it this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed.

I spoke to a tech at Klipsch and she did say that the big reveil for the new speakers is at CES.

The dealer that I've been working with has been trying to find another dealer with a maple RC-7 in stock but so far not luck. []

It's been 2 years since I got a pair of RF-7 main speakers in maple. I've finally managed to scrap up the money for a RC-7 center channel but the dealer I ordered the speaker from says it is no longer available in maple. Since my mains and my furnature is all maple I really wanted the center speaker to be maple too. Any suggestions on a equivalent center channel from another manufacturer in maple? Thanks Jack

I've had both a 5-disc Sony and a 5-disc Denon cd player (actually a 5 disc DVD player). Both are good units. I liked the display on the Sony a little better but the Denon is a great unit. I bought the Denon to go with my AVR-3805 and have had no regrets with the purchase.

Hi all, I need help with the on screen display on my Denon 3805. The input connections are DBS on component 1, vcr on component 2 and dvd on component 3. The connection to the tv (samsung) is via the component monitor out. When I try to enter setup mode the on screen display is only shown for a few seconds then the screen goes blank. Any ideas how to fix this? 2nd question. My main speakers are RF-7's. The sub is a mirage BPS-400. Is it better to set the RF-7's to small or large? Thanks Jack

No, the JBL S412P doesn't have a horn. According to the spec sheet it has: 1" Pure-titanium dome (High frequency driver) 4" PolyPlas cone (Midrange transducer) 6" Polyplas cone (Midbass transducer) 12" Polyplas cone (Low-frequency transducer with 200 watt amp)

I had a pair of JBL S412P floor standing speakers and really liked the way they sounded. This speaker was part of the Studio Series and is no longer made. It had 4 drivers and a built in 200 watt amp dedicated to the 12" bass driver. Due to lighting damage (loss the 200 amps) I replaced them with RF-7's. The RF-7's definately play louder but the S412P's seem to have a smoother overall sound. Maybe because of the amps?
