Hey ya'll ! I just finished watching my new Spiderman 2 DVD ( Superbit Edition ) purchased yesterday at BB. I must say I really enjoyed it and the Picture/Sound quality are fantastic ! I love Superbit DVD's and have about 12 of them!

There are several very good DVD recorders out there. I personally own a Samsung DVD-R 4000 (made by Panasonic) which I just love. Yes you can burn copies of your VHS tapes to DVD. In selecting a recorder you have to first decide which format you want. There are DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD- RAM, DVD-RW. You need to check compatibility with any player you plan on playing discs you burn on. My Sammy burns DVD-R & DVD-RAM's. DVD-R's are compatible with almost any DVD player out there. My other suggestion is that you buy a name brand deck not one of those no name decks offered for $199 at Wal-Mart and other places.

I just love Jennifer Garner! I have been hesitant to buy this disc, but I will have to now.

Given your budget and your having a $500 Best Buy gift card, here is what I would purchase: Synergy Series B3 bookshelves for $329, Yamaha 5730 receiver with 100 watts x5 SILVER COLOR for $199. It would be a very decent sounding system for the money and would also be ready for surround sound if you ever change your mind. Good luck!

Sc1 is a better match for your sf2's as they are both synergy series speakers . The rc25 is a better speaker as its a referance series but would not match up with your sf2s as well.

I previously owed a Def. Tech. 7.1 system in which I had about 3,000 invested. I don't know if it was a bad combo with my Denon 3801 or what, but I was never satisfied with the sound { not enough in the high end for me and just not " exciting " to me. I sold the Def Techs last December.

Sounds like you are missing the jumpers that connect both sets of posts. You must have them in place to get sounds out of all drivers. The only other option if you can't get the jumpers is to bi-wire your speakers.

I TOTALLY agree with you on that skeptical ! The picture is pretty good considering the age of the movies . But it sure would've been nice to have them in DD. !

I just picked up the set at Target today for $49.99 on sale. I know they aren't the best movies but I enjoyed the first few. It brings back memories of when I was younger to watch them again. I was 17 when the first one came out and remember thinking it was pretty scary at the time. Anyone else have memories/opinions of these movies ?

I went to Best Buy in Winston - Salem NC yesterday to check out the new Synergy line. They had them in stock on the floor but they were NOT hooked up to give them a listen. I must say that I like their appearance though and would really like to give them a listen. However I have one major concern. I looked them over real good and on the sticker on the back it says that they are made in China ! What is the deal with that ? Do they assemble them over there with USA made parts or are the parts made in China too ? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated as I am considering purchasing some of them { I really would like to buy Ref. Series but need to try and save some $ as much as possible}. Also if anyone has heard them how do they sound ?

Very nice system! I do have one concern for you and your precious equipment. You should have more room for ventilation above your receiver. I had a 3801 and had 6 inches of clearance above it to be sure of it getting enough ventilation.

Hey all. I like all kinds of music and have about 50 concert DVD's. Out of all of them I have 3 favorites based on sound & picture quality and of course the music. They are: Norah Jones- Live in New Orleans , Alison Krauss & Union Station Live , and Randy Travis Live - It was just a matter of time. All of these have state of the art sound IMO and excellent picture quality. If you like any of these artists you must check these out - you will not be disappointed! Other favorites of mine are: Peter Frampton - Live in Detroit,Eagles- Hell Freezes Over,Lilith Fair, Jewel- Live at Humphrey's By the Bay,Diana Krall- Live in Paris,Natalie Cole-Ask a woman who knows, and Journey- Live 2001.
