  1. Three letters... HOL. With cane grills. To match my '81's except the color of grill, where do I sign up?
  2. Sorry Craig, I'm sure you are a nice guy, but I just dont see where you have the right to blow off someone just because he does not share your point of view. Past history aside, of course. I like Cary audio (my local guys) and Decware amps, do you blow me off too? Not a personal thing, but a personal thing, get what I am saying? Todd
  3. I've been here for some time now, but what the heck, enlighten me?
  4. Funny, I agree with AllanS., Jazman, and TBrennan, You NOSvalves are the troll. The rest of us want to talk (or at least read talk of ) Klipsch speakers.
  5. Hi Guys, Sorry to be so melodramatic in the post title but the caps in my type E crossovers are seeping oil. I am thinking that I will build some new crossovers to replace the originals. So my question is, where can I find all of the parts to do so? I can't seem to find any info on the Klipsch website. I would like to check into both new as well as vintage style parts. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Todd P.S. Do the driver diaphragms degrade over time?

    RW-12

The only thing I can tell you is if you use the single lfe input, you bypass all internal signal processing on the sub. If you use the left and right (red & white line in) inputs, all signal processing, phase 0-180, crossover 40 to 120 hz, works as you have them set on the rear of the sub. I use the lfe inputs and control the sub through the preamp in my system. Hope that helps, Noloft
  7. Well, not actually a movie but, I'm partial to Santana - supernatural. One of the best, picturewise as well as audiowise. A great disc, no wonder you see it playing as a demo in a lot of stores. I seem to anyway. One other music disc that I like a lot is Stevie Ray Vaughn - Live at Montreux. Absolutely Smoking!!! Noloft
  8. Hi, kinda' new guy here but my thoughts are... I like sacd better. It acts more like a cd than dvd-a does. I don't need the video aspect of dvd-a, and I hate having to push the play button twice. Other than that, I am more than pleased with the sound of both formats. I run an Integra dpc8.5 and an Outlaw 950 and both formats sound great, almost rivaling vinyl. One other plus for sacd is some of them will play in the car (the hybrids) and they seem to sound better than a normal cd, but I'm not sure why. 24 bit recording maybe? Anyway, put my vote to sacd. 9. Hi Silversport, Sorry to be getting to this discussion so late, but I have to agree with most of the guys here when I say go for the Refs. I listened to the Synergys, I listened to the Refs, NO comparison. I bought Refs. The Refs just do everything better and will last longer because they are built from better components. The Refs can also do double duty for two channel music fairly well if you are like me and are having to save up for Heritage and tube amps. Also, I don't know where you are located, but I just looked at the Best Buy web site and they show a price of $402.99 ea. for the Synergys. A friend of mine just bought a pair of RF-35s for $5.98 less at a semi-local authorized dealer. Hi-end dealers (if they want to move product) will deal, Best Buy will not. I think there is a deal out there if you look hard enough. Congrats on the Outlaw decision!!!! I run a 950/7100 combo and I could not be happier. You feed a set of Klipschs/es/'s (help me out here guys ),whether Synergy, Reference, or Heritage, 100 watts of Outlaw power and you will have one set of happy speakers on your hands and maybe not so happy everybody else. I can hit 117db in my listening position and with two windows and one door open hear it a full block or more away! LFM-1 or RW-12, Hummmm... I don't know. I have a RW-12 and love it!!!!! But, I want to try a LFM-1 too. I am planning on getting a second sub, so let me know how it goes if you get the LFM-1. I need some positive reviews, well, that and free shipping from the outlaws! Otherwise I may get a second RW-12. P.M. or E-mail me if you have any questions or just want to chat about Klipsch and Outlaw gear. Noloft
  10. No more replies needed. Speakers found. Noloft
  11. Hi Guys' Wondering if anyone here knows where I can get a set of these (or maybe RF-5/RF-35) for a reasonable price? They would have to be in, around, or willing to ship to N.C. If so, please send a P.M. with details and contact info. Thanks in advance, Noloft
  12. Hi Guys. I need the specs on a K-1085 SV 6.5" reference driver out of a RC-3 if anybody has them. I'm thinking of trying them in the automobile and need to know if they would be compatable with my present components. Thanks in advance, Noloft
  13. Why does the RW-12 get such little play here? It seems to me that dollar for dollar, this could be Klipschs best sub.Less than $700.00, 340watts, 116db, and goes as low as 21hz. These seem like really good numbers to me. what am I missing or what part of the story do I not know? Just wondering, Noloft
  14. Thanks for the replies. I didn't think there was any hard and fast rule concerning MSRP. I guess that guy just doesn't want to be my Klipsch dealer. Shame, as he's the closest to me by a few miles since Tweeter bought out Now audio/video. Oh well, I can pick up lottery tickets when I ride to Virginia. Does anybody know what the jackpot is up to? Noloft P.S. I was actually pricing Reference speakers. I dont have quite enough room for Khorns right now. I'm working on it though.
  15. Hi Guys, First time poster here. I'm Todd, I'm 38, a toolmaker, and I'm becoming, as my better-half puts it, quite insane. I have a need for more Klipsch speakers than I have room for. I keep telling her it's just a hobby, I only need one more pair, and K-horns go with any decor. She just looks at me funny. Anyway, I have been lurking here for some time now and while I enjoy reading your posts, I haven't been inclined to post myself. Until today. I heard something today that just did not sound right, so I thought I would come to the experts on the matter. Does Klipsch have any rules that do not let their dealers deal a little on pricing? You know, MSRP only? From some of the posts on this forum, and a little personal experience, I would find that hard to believe. And if that's not true, what would be a standard or average number to work from as far as a bargaining point? 10%, 20%, more??? Thanks in advance, Noloft
