  1. Just came across this little Klipsch advertisement of the Epic line that I have never seen before and thought I would post it for those who still enjoy their Epics. http://207.67.68.51/forums/storage/4/1041393/Epic.pdf
  2. I just noticed the light beam in your Klatu Avatar. Very Cool!
  3. Well, if so, here they are. http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/ele/5705174979.html
  4. One of the qualities often looked for in screen shots is to see how the light spill is, outside the screen area for particular designs in the darkened room.
  5. These have been up for a while and had a recent price drop. A good price on the Epic CF3's for anyone in the New Jersey area, as they are pick-up only. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-EPIC-CF-3-Speakers-2-Amplifiers-Karaoke-Machine-etc-PICK-UP-ONLY-/331871526855?hash=item4d45159fc7:g:KgAAAOSwJhNXUHKi
  6. I am impressed with those motorcycles beating out the Bugatti. Here is a nice video of some real speed, though. This is wild. http://www.wimp.com/the-difference-between-850-and-10000-horsepower/
  7. No love here for the 1000 horsepower Bugatti Veyron. Probably just as well. To replace the tires it costs $40,000 and $20,000 for an oil change. http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/car-accessories/videos/a30005/bugatti-veyron-cost/
  8. Nice looking pair of K-horns and a pair of corner Heresys on Audiogon. Anyone seen them in this style before? https://www.audiogon.com/listings/full-range-klipsch-heresy-corner-horns-speakers-2016-07-11-speakers-33907-fort-myers-fl--2
  9. A great looking piece of gear as well. Love the clean look and that it is has a remote control.
  10. As well, I have seen a few Epics up for sale from time to time with replacement drivers in them that were not originals to its design. That could cause some sound issues.

    Hawk Attack

This story of the swooping hawk drew my attention because of some of the fear responses that were posted. The "don't do anything, you will get in trouble." replies. Which are all an attempt to instill ones own or societal fears into another and to make one more afraid of living freely. The responses I did like, whether they were ever acted upon or not, were "do what you need to do, just be smart and be discrete." Those are not fear based responses, just an awareness of the world we live in, the nature of other human beings and to be intelligent about what you do. The similarities between a speeding ticket and this federal crime, is fear. Whether one is afraid to hit the gas or afraid of taking out a couple of birds, the commonality is the fear of getting caught. As well, both laws mentioned are similar in that they were all just invented in a room of old men, saying Ok, lets make this a law, a gavel is banged, some scribe scribbles it down on paper and its then added to some book sitting on a shelf and now we have a new law. Whether state or federal, they are both just ink print in a book. In the Vastness of Time, they are all just Dust in the Wind.

    Hawk Attack

Im all for safe and sane solutions, but I am also for the more wild and deliberate solutions mentioned as well. What I don't like is the skewed notion that there is some eye in the sky and the all powerful game wardens are somehow always watching and one should be very afraid of getting in trouble. They will see whatever you do, even under trees, in your own backyard and you will pay for it. Its like the thinking that there police are at every corner and if one drives 10 miles over the speed limit, you will get a ticket, so harbor fear instead of joyfully hitting the gas now and then. They are in fact not everywhere and promoting fear is not the way.

    I'm with Zim.
  14. Great work on your subs Bro. I dig all that firepower at the ready and yet it is invisible behind that massive screen. Beautiful. I'm wondering if you have seen any info on a cardioid subwoofer set-up. I have watched quite a few videos on youtube about that some time ago and it got me interested in that type of set-up for the time when I have more than the 2 subs I have now. Here is a vid I just dug up. chttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uD6Szdcqpw
  15. Make sure to take a look at the dust cap on the driver and see if it is glued down and sealed. That can make a noise at higher volume as it starts to vibrate against the driver if an edge has come loose.
  16. I was recently on AVS forum and a guy there posted a build thread using a carbon fiber vinyl wrap he DIY'd for his subwoofer project. It came out really nice. The place he got it from is in Canada. They have a rosewood wrap as well. Just an Fyi. http://vvividvinyl.com/architectural_films I used to ship things quite often and would sometimes be on Freight loading docks watching the scene. If I were shipping Belles ,I would put them together on a pallet. Surround them with styrofoam sheeting, underneath as well and maybe some cardboard and then wrap them with the plastic shrink wrap thats used to bind it all together solid. I think they would travel quite safely that way.
  17. You may already have your eyes on the speakers you want, but I just saw this ad earlier today. This guy will ship them up to Washington state for $200 bucks if you can get them from there. http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/ele/5634402145.html
  18. Anyone in So. California looking for a good price on a Crown K2, here it is. Not affiliated. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/ele/5606881443.html

  20. A little Revenant trivia, the bear scene, which was one of the most intense scenes I had seen in a long time was actually done by a man in a bear suit. For some reason that was kind of a let down when I read that.
  21. This is another song I like to use. It has a simplicity that is good for the somewhat fleeting music memory that people often refer to. The dynamic finger snapping in the beginning, placed somewhat high and to the right in the soundstage, the full-bodied upright bass, the power of the simple vocal, some reverberant sounds of the room. If the speaker does not convey some of those things, move on.
  22. I have often brought this song to test a speakers bass. It sounds quite nice on my Epic CF3's. It is an easy to remember bass tone and if the speaker doesn't hit it with the right fullness that i am used to, I am not interested. Massive Attack, the song Sly.
  23. An interesting creation, or abomination. What say you? http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/ele/5590096076.html
  24. It is always nice to hear how the Epic line stack up in comparisons. I guess I shall keep mine a bit longer. Its been about 14 years now and still happy with them.
  25. Oh, I have no personal interest myself. Just noticed them on my semi regular Klipsch Craigslist search. anyone in So. Cal. feel free.
