  1. Thinking of Selling my RF15 system. 2-RF15, RC25, RS25, & RW8 all in black. Condition 8/10. Nonsmoking room. $900 obo for all, am willing to separate. Thanks for looking. Ray
  2. Hey Matt, alot of people on this forum prefer separates over receivers. Just to name some brands, rotel, b&k, parasound, sunfire, and etc. Some people say that rotel gives you the best bang for your buck. First you have to visit some dealers and take a listen to each equipment and compare what you like. Also try to do some research and search the klipsch forum on amp threads. You can also type in the differnet companies in the search and see what pops up. If you go with rotel, I would recommend the rmb 1095 or rmb 1075, which both are 5 channel, the the 1095 has 200 wpc compared to 125wpc for the 1075 and the Rsp 1068. I think the only major difference between the 1098 and the 1068 is the the screen, but not 100% sure. You can always add a second 2 channel amp. I don't know if the 1095 or 1068 has HDMI. Narrow it down to a couple of companies and go out and listen. People here on the forums can recommend different companies, but you have to like what your buying because you have to live with it. Hey in the end, you might go with a receiver, but try to demo first. Take a look at this thread for rotel gear. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/473466/ShowPost.aspx It might help. Ray
  3. Hey everybody, has anybody listened or owned the B&K ref 7250, 200 watt x 5 channel amp. Any reviews on it. Thanks, Ray
  4. Thxs for the Info JR, might have to keep an eye out for them or maybe look for a deal on 1090. JR, do you know when the 1091 and 1092 will be coming out?
  5. Hey all, was at a rotel dealer today and he mentioned that they are discontinuing the rotel 1090. Anybody hear anything about this? False or true. Is Rotel coming out with a new 2 channel amp? Thanks all, RM1111
  6. Hey Indy, demo a few rotel units in the next couple of months or so and maybe wait for the new aragon lineup.
  7. Also check out the Post-" What amps or preamps are you using" in home theaters forum
  8. Hey Ajcllc, Please give us a budget and people can recommend different options. As you might know, preamp/amp usually are more expensive than receivers. Well, the new Denon 3806 MSRP is around $1300, so if you stick with receivers, try out the HK 7300, you can get it from a authorized dealer for a little bit more. I really haven't research separates, but other people on the forum can fill in that area. Try doing a search also on the forum for amps/ preamps. There have been many other questions like this one.
  9. Hey Alex, that is an excellent speaker combo, you will be very happy. I do not know much about installation, but try to call around and get a price from several dealers/ installers. Does your dealer that you are buying the speakers from, do install , if they do, maybe you can do some negotiating about doing a install for a cheaper price because your buying all those speakers.
  10. Hey Alex, You don't need to spend 50K for a great home theater. Try to get all 7 speakers for the RF 15 setup for around $1600 without tax. MSRP is around $2000. Thats around 20% off. One option is to add 2 RB 15 instead of 2 more RS 25. Use the RB 15 for the sides and the RS 25 for the back. People like this setup for music, but it adds 200 more dollars. You have to listen to different receivers. Some people here like Denon, Harman Kardon, Pioneer, Marantz. I like my HK. You can get the HK 7300 for around $1300 online from a authorized dealer. I really haven't looked into separates that much and they can cost a lot more. I really haven't looked into projectors and don't know how much they cost for a good one. You probably have a dvd player already. Also do a search on the forum to look for what amps, receivers, projector/ tv's other people are thinking about buying. Alot of people like the RF35 setup, but it cost more then the RF 15 setup. The best is the RF 7 in the Ref. series. I don't know if $500 is a good price for setting up the equipment. Speakers- 2000 Receiver- 1000 to 1500 Projector-3000 to 4000 Install- 500 Thats around 8000 or so.
  11. I agree with Micheal, used RF 5's will be nice in that price range or go with the RF 35's. I say go to a local dealer and give them a test drive. The RF 25's might also work, but test them out and decide for yourself. Ray
  12. If you don't mine, give us your budget for what you want to spend on all the speakers and what you want to spend on your recievers. Size of the room? Do you also get a itchy finger to upgrade? You can build your system in pieces also.
  13. My vote is for the HK. Coworker of my likes the marantz. Demo each one because you are the one going to ive with it and if you are on a budget, factor that in. You can get some great deals online under msrp for HK. Ray

I was thinking about moving my RP5's to surround, what do you guys think? Will the RP5's work with the RF7 up front. Or should I get a pair of RB or RS 7 speakers instead of using the RP5's. My second question is, what is a good sub that will match my system under $1000 if I use the RP5's as surround. Was looking at the RSW 10 or 12, SVS PB 12 plus or ultra, or the Hsu VTF 3 MK 2. Its 50/50 for music and HT. Thanks for taking a look. Ray ---------------- Thank you all for the info. Ray

Is there no way to run the sub signal to just the sub portion of the RP-5? ---------------- Yes, you are right Kohill about the built in subs and I can hook up a separate sub signal to each tower after looking at the manual. I guess I have to test it out and see if I need another sub. I have to wait for my RF 7 to come in first. Wondering if anybody else has every tried this setup? This might be a newbi question, Klipsch recommends that the subs be up front or does it matter. Or I can add another sub to the mix. LOL

  18. Hey All, just wondering what may cause this to happen? Saw it on a ebay that somebody is selling a pair of RF3's. Does it affect the speaker performance. Thxs all.
  19. Hey Shane, give us the amount you want to spend and we can lead you in the right direction. More TH or music.
  20. Hey Ken, the Woofs will play in two channel mode. The Denon and HK are both similar in sound, warm feel. I was looking at the Denon 3805 and the HK 630, but decided to buy the HK to save money, around $500. They both have set up mics. Also depends on what you are going to do with the recievers, more music than movies or vice versa. I think that the HK is a little more on the music side and it does fine for HT. You know what the Denons sound like because you sell them, the only recommendation is go out and listen to the HK's with your own ears and decide for yourself. I can't say which one is better, everybody has their own opinions and the amount money they can spend. Like my cousin who brought a sunfire ultimate reciever which is out of my league for now. LOL. Maybe try to find a store who sells HK that really has a good return policy or try both recievers at home and return the one you don't like.
  21. Hey Chris. Looking at ebay, it gives you a value. The RF 7 go around $1200.00 to $1400.00. SS1 around $150.00.The RC 3 goes around $200.00. The RSW 12 goes around $700.00. All these numbers are approximate. It is probably worth around $2200 to $2500.00
  22. Thxs 3D for info and I did mean driver.
  23. Just wondering if Klipsch has certified service centers that they would reccommend for speakers out of warranty or should I try dealers? Thxs for looking/info.
  24. Just wondering how hard is it to change out a 8" cone in a speaker tower?
