  1. Hey Smokey, interested in the speakers. Are you willing to just sell the 2 RP-5's or sell all 3 together. Please let me know and the price you are looking for? Thxs
  2. I agree with steve, everybody has their own opinions and experiences, but everybody has different hearing, thats why a lot of people here on the forum recommend people to go out and listen to what they are going to purchase with their own 2 ears or bring the equipment home to do a comparison.
  3. My cousin just picked up a Sunfire ultimate reciever for around that price. Check out sunfire and other brands on www.audiogon.com. Might be able to find some deals. Don't know if warranties are transferable on sunfire, but check before you buy used. Saturday Audio has a NAD S250 amp and T163 pre-amp for a good deal($2200.00) retails for $4000, but I haven't had any experience with NAD. Maybe some other people can recommend it, but try to listen to them first. Saturday audio have 2 stores, Evanston & Chicago.
  4. I think BB have the 1014 on sale for 400, but not 100 percent sure.
  5. I have had the HK 630 for a 2 months. It does get warm, but it hasn't shut off or anything. I don't have it in a cabinet, so it can breath. I was thinking about getting a heat sink fan and placing it on top to keep it cooler, but I haven't. I think the number one thing is to make sure you have air flow and space around it.
  6. Ref. Cinema 6, 8, or 10 or buy them in separate stages, like the speakers , then wait for the sub. I think that the 6 series msrp is around $1000 and then up from there, but you can try to get a discount from dealers, but not all of them discount. You can get them used or off of ebay, but no warranty if it isn't from an authorized dealer. Warranty is not tranferable from person to person.
  7. I think that HK goes well with Klipsch. But people have their own opinions. I had a sony and the sound quality in the HK blows it away. Nice warm clean sound likedenon. Like other people have said in the forum,u can't compare the Watt per channel with HK, usually they are under rated. The lowest model I would go with the RF 15 would be the 335. The 630 that I have has more than enough power for the RF 15's. You can get the HK 630 at www.vanns.com for 679.00 with free shipping. They are a authorized dealership. I heard that the really only different between the 630 and 635 is the equalizer.
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=61378&item=5748742939&rd=1 link, its at $5300
  9. What is your budget? Try Harman Kardon, Pioneer 1014 or Pioneer elite series. Marantz, Nad, Rotel. Here are some brands, depending on your budget, go out and listen to some of these.
  10. HK 335 for $469.00 AT www.jandr.com. Free shipping. Don't know when the sale is over. They are in New York. Don't know if you want to wait. Just an option. I got my reciever from them.
  11. Hey, got this link for a lawsuit against MGM. I think it has something about they've been taking the pan and scan and cropping them for the "widescreen" release. Not 100% sure. Here is the link: http://mgmdvdsettlement.com/
  12. Hey, there is a lawsuit against MGM on there DVD's, Don't know much about it, but it something to do with widescreen format. Here is the link. http://mgmdvdsettlement.com/
  13. Ep, you can always place your rears in back of the couch to get 5.1, instead of the sides because of your room restrictions. Now you can get your RB or RF for the rears. That just a thought. You might want to try Saturday Audio for pricing. They are a authorized dealer and the prices are under MSRP. They offer a better deal, if you can afford the whole package, but there hours are only limited to the weekends. The website is www.saturdayaudio.com. Hope this helps.
  14. Hi Ep, I recommend matching up all the speakers. If you are going with RC 35, get the RF 35 to match with it. Then so on with the rears, RB 35 with speaker stands. Depending on your budget, you might have to wait and get your rears later. If you go with the RF25, get the matching set speakers. Hope this helps.
  15. Hey Lex, I know you will enjoy the speakers, because I do, I have the same setup, except, I have a HK 630.
  16. I recommend the one that matches your speakers. RF35 w/ the rc 35 and same for the 25's
  17. Hey Travisc, Bookshelf speaker will do ok but I recommend the wide dispersion speakers if you watch more movies than music. I just hooked mine up and they sound great compared to my book shelfs.
  18. Hey, I vote for the H/K. Try looking for the H/K 630. You might save some money. I think the only difference between the 630 and 635 is a equalizer, but not 100 percent sure.
  19. Thxs, I will have to look around for some rs 25 and get a good price
  20. Hi, I was wondering if I can use RF 15 as surrounds or should I get a pair of the RS 25. I might be able to get a good deal on a pair of RF 15's. I will be using my system for more home theater than music. Also wondering, if I can use my RF 15 for surrounds, I was thinking about getting some RF 25 instead for the fronts and moving the 15's to the surrounds. Equipment: HK 630 receiver, RF 15, RC 25, RW 8, and some old JBL book shelf speakers for surrounds for now. Thanks all .
  21. Yeah, I also unplugged everything and turned it on and had the same problem.
  22. Hey guys, thxs for the info. I checked the wires and everything looks good. I just brought new wire. I ordered the receiver online. I just sent it back and now am waiting for a new one. I got it at J&R, so, its an authorized dealer.
  23. Hello all. I just hooked up my receiver and turned it on to test it out.after 30 sec or so the receiver will turn back into standby mode. Don't know what could be the problem and the support for HK isn't open until monday. All my equipment is plugged into a monster ht 700 surge protector for now, until I can get some money after the holidays.
