  1. No problem at all CP1. I was joking in every post I just dont think it came across that way. It is so hard in typed/written words to convey sarcasm, joking tone, serious tone, annoyance, etc. Though I have to admit I was a little harsh asking the 2nd poster if he really wanted the pix. So did you take a look at the pix? What photo taking tips can you give me? Hire a professional, perhaps? I actually had a bathroom that I could convert to a darkroom growing up. I was really into B&W photography for a while. Doubt you can tell it from my snapshot type pix of the Chori. Thanks for the well wishes on the sale. But on one level I actually hope they do not sell as I think they are the best looking speakers I own. It is fun to switch between the Forte II and Chorus. Similar in size, shape and outputbut different enough to notice.
  2. I'm in. My sister lives in Miami. We can make a Coulter/Indy trip out of it. I filled up my Yukon XL yesterday and the darn pump stopped at $75 befoe it was actually full. So the ride down/back might cost more then the speakers.
  3. ---------------- On 8/25/2005 9:56:49 AM Frzninvt wrote: Rich, did you hook up with some WO Belle's finally? Pretty tough to find pairs within traveling distance. ---------------- Well I was going to wait until they are actually in my house to let the cat out of the bag. But I cannot see this NOT happening unless Joe's (Joessporster) entire house gets taken away by an alien space ship or they are a pile of kindling wood when I show up. Joe offered his WO pair to GaryMD and him and I are going to pick them up on Saturday. Gary will have center for 2 channel and I will complete my HT set up. Joe got Khorns last week from reading posts, I believe. I think these are the pair Dylanl sold to Joe a while back. I have been on the hunt and made contact with sellers in K.C., Cinci, Michigan, MD, FL, and other places. None were really quite the right combination of all factors. Joe is in MD, but just about as far a drive as I can make and still be in the same state. No complaints on the drive from my end. Will report back about 7.1 HT with Khorn/Belle/Khorn and 4 Heresies all in WO as soon as I can. As homer would say Whoooo Hooooo! I just hope this premature post does not jinx me in any way. Now I think I can finally post my room in the "show us your HT" thread. Wish us all luck, Rich
  4. I posted in general last week about my Chorus. Now I have pictures so giving the 2 channel only folks a heads up. You will not be disappointed with these babies. If you are interested in a beautiful pair of WO Chorus give the link below a click. Lots and lots of nice pix. If you want more detail there is a 15MB zip file you can get from the page that has very high resolution versions of each picture on the page. Great Looking Chorus Pix
  5. Finally got some pix. Check out the link below to see web version of pix as well as a link to 15MBs of High Rez photos in a zip file. Great Looking Chorus Pix CP1, how is my composition, lighting, etc? I know the subject matter is stunning!

Rick. ---------------- I was the one that wrote and asked him if I could look at them when the auction was up last time. I gave that auction a quick look last night and thought they looked familiar. I was ready to drive out and inspect any day any time and the seller said no. I hope this works out for the buyer/forum member...but be careful.

Those read ones are for sure not my cup of tea. The other pair look nice, but still a few things on my list ahead of new amps. Keep the suggestions coming...if the right pair pops up who knows.
  8. ---------------- On 8/22/2005 2:58:09 PM NOSValves wrote: Mark III's in bone stock needing a overhaul regularly sell for $500 to $750 depending on there consmetic condition. ---------------- Thanks Craig. But that would have to be per pair, right? Not each?
  9. Too much coin for my current list of must have items. Belle center, new crossovers, upgraded turntable and cart are all above this on my priority list. However, I would like to have a pair of them some day and was wondering if something along this line is a good goal or simply getting nice old pair and having them freshened up. There seems to be a never ending list of mark IIIs with mods on audiogon and the like. Did anybody catch the Ferrari red pair there now? So what is the consensus are you better off getting the stock models that need some elbow grease and having them recapped or is letting somebody else tweak them to no end and buying once they are done a better move? What is a fair price (not a seal and not paying through the nose) for ones that are bone stock and in need of a trip to Craigs pad just to get them usable?
  10. I have seen a lot of Mark III postings lately. Are these worth the extra $$$ or just hype? Maybe some where in between? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5801308605 EDIT: Just realized the typo in my subject line...THINK not thing. Hey Amy, will the new forum software let us edit subject lines?
  11. ---------------- On 8/19/2005 9:45:18 PM sprecherdarkfan wrote: Are the chorus speakers sold? If not, please email me at Jbula@wi.rr.com. Thank you. ---------------- Checked your profile, but did not see where you were from. If this pair is not available any longer check out my pair for sale in the general forum http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=69694 If this pair is not sold then by all means follow through on them. Good Luck on your quest
  12. I 2nd Gary's suggestion on a Scott integrated if that is what you are in need of. Isn't that crown a preamp? I assumed when you said "power amp" you just needed an amp. Craig's reworked vintage tube gear sounds great. For 500 you are in the ball park to pick up a decent scott on ebay and still have the funds for Craig to work his magic...give or take a little bit.
  13. Damn public school education. The original buyer died after owning them for two years. For many years they went unused by his heirs. I was the lucky stiff (pun intended) that bought them, thus I am the 2nd owner...you might argue the 3rd. Hey I did not offer them 20 bucks for them; similar to Allans vinyl buying sleaze-ball establishment story in 2 channel. Original owner was not a forum member so make light all you like. Man I am a jerk today, no?
  14. Tubes or SS? If Tubes I think the MK IIIs are a good recomendation...can you get nicely restored versions for 500 a pair? If SS and you are looking for a lot of power and headroom consider the Carver TFM series (yes I own them) I have the TFM-25 and have used two in mono configuration with great success. A single TFM-35 would be nice as well. EDIT: If looking to by new I am not up on the newere gear...can't help.
  15. At that price you can't go wrong. Try them see what you think. For rears I can't imagine a problem, but I have not personally head it. If you were trying to use one as a center between the IIs maybe an issue. FII/Academy/FII up front with Forte in the back will be smoking. EDIT: STL, In a perfect world he would have all three in the front the same, but that is not always possible. An academy is an excellent choice for center between the Forte II. ajcllc, tell us about your room.
  16. ---------------- On 8/19/2005 11:10:27 AM bigyank wrote: Tried to PM you but failed. I would love to see some hi-res pics please! ---------------- The forum is pretty much hit or miss on that. Send an to email me rplace@*NoSpam*mantistech.com as a reminder and I will take the pix this weekend. I will then email them back to you. I can give you pix that will be a MB or more in size each. Can you get attachments that big? Do you really want them (pix that is not speakers) or just kicking the tires? I am using one as a center channel and the other is nicely wrapped up in many blankets in my spare bedroom. These beasts are pretty bulky and difficult to move. BTW I forgot to mention in my first post that I am not really willing to move on price. They will fetch close to a grand on ebay in the fall/winter. Last year I passed on a WO CI pair with water ring at $950. Sorry if I am sounding like a jerk here...no my intention. Just don't want to waste our time. Thanks, Rich P.S. if you can't figure out what to remove from my email to make it work you are not worthy of my fine speakers
  17. If there is any interest in a pair of beautiful Walnut Oiled Chorus out there please let me know. I really dont want to ship them but will if we can work things out with a freight company. I dont think FedEx or UPS is a good way to go but will if you want to, insurance would be a must. I am the 2nd owner and they just about perfect in every way. Purchased new the owner died after 2 years of use. They stayed in the family tucked away until I bought them last November. I believe they are 1988s or 89s but can get the serial number if you like. All edges are razor sharp and corners are crisp and tight. Very minor flaws can be found here and there if you are less then arms length away and trying to find problems. See the not so great picture below to get an idea of them. I can take very high resolution pix in bright light for people with serious interest. The only reason I would be selling is because I have several pair of Klipsch speakers and the idea of them just sitting, not being used, does not sit well with me. I paid 750 for the chorus and drove about 1.5 hours each way to get them. As soon as I got them I paid about 50 bucks for tempered glass tops. I am looking to get my 750 back out of themyou can have the glass tops for free. I am in the Baltimore, MD area. Willing to let you come out listen to them as long as you like or I can travel a reasonable distance to meet you between D.C., Philly, Wilmington, etc. I will also be running a half marathon Labor Day weekend in Va. Beach Virginia so could bring them along if you like. If there is more interest in a pair of OO Forte II I might be willing to sell them and keep the Chorus. My Forte IIs have been mine since day one new out of the factory box from Hope. The have more sentimental value then the Chorus so that is my motivation in keeping the Forte II over the Chorus. I have bought/sold a few speakers with forum members let me know if you want a reference.
  18. CP1, I have two mid horns and one mid driver that is good, along with one mid driver that is not so good. Keep me in mind if you want to roll your own pair.
  19. I feel the love after all those toxic posts in previous weeks over in 2 channel. Now who is gonna schlep those Belles from Chi-town to Blatimore for me!?!?
  20. dgb, do you like R.E.M.? My wife and I do. So much that I think (will have to check) I have two of R.E.M's greatest hits 88-2003 on DVD-A. One is the DVD-A with regular CD combination that I am keeping; the other is just the DVD-A. However is might be SACD. If it is DVD-A and you want it you can have it. At any rate if you send me your address to rplace@*NoSpam*mantistech.com I will mail it out to you. This will be my pay back for another forum member giving me a Rolling Stones Some Girls LP that I was after. All you have to do is figure out what to remove from my email above and it is yours to mess with. If you can't use it pass it on to another forum member. Buy a really nice 6-pack of beer with that 14 bucks. Something like Celebrator or Hogarten.
  21. DrW, Not really sure how long it would take. I guess it depends on how far the Forward Air place is from you. It really is a large imposition I know. You would have to get the speakers from the seller; Put them in original boxes; get a pallet; strap the speakers boxes to the pallet and take it all to Forward Air. From there it is sort of like shipping UPS or FedEx. Fill out some paperwork, pay some money (obviously I would pay) and they take it away with a fork lift. Pick up truck would be handy they have loading docks and will take the palletized item out of your truck for you.
  22. mbajner, No I did not get them yet. The auction still has just under 2 days left. Since the seller is not willing to ship I have to secure something before I am able to bid. They look really nice,no they look stunning. Bonus for me is that they have the AB2 network. My khorns have AK2 network, so should be the perfect match till I get one of the xover guys to build me 3 alike. I also have a request out to the seller to assist in transport/shipping...but not holding my breath. Wish me luck!
  23. AN, thanks for the heads up. Forward Air in Baltimore was really easy to deal with. Sounds like they have more hoops in the Chicago area. I am not married to Forward Air, open to any other ideas people have. No real rush in getting them either. If somebody would want to try/test/audition a pair of Belles I would be down for that. My parents live in the Detroit area and I get back from time to time. I love to visit the city of Chicago. So if somebody will go through the trouble of getting them for me they can use them till I make a Detroit/Chicago run. What would be ideal would be somebody between Chicago and Detroit getting them for me and using them for a bit. Say a Kalamazoo or Battlecreek Michigan dude. Even better if Picky or NOSValves was looking for a reason to go to Chicago. I'll pay the gas...now I am just dreaming. ColterPhoto1, arn't you a bit bored these days? Indy to Chicago to Detroit should be right up your alley
  24. Sorry for the cross postbut it seems to me that a lot of the 2 channel types dont venture to other parts of the forum. If you are a Chicago area person willing the help me get a pair of Belles moved please give this general post a read http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=69648
  25. I know this is asking a lot. But if anyone was willing to pick up a pair of Bells for me (with boxes which is nice) and help me get them to me I would be forever grateful. Here is the auction so you can check out the city. Belles Auction says Naperville, IL. I have used a company called Forward air in the past to ship pinball machines. Basically you box up and strap your item to a pallet. They move them for you. Forward air locations are typically close to airports. FORWARD AIR, INC Address: 351 W. TOUHY AVENUE SUITE 150 DES PLAINES , IL 60018 Anyone able and willing? Even better if you want one I will split them with you!!!!
