  1. TTT, price updated to $450. lets get this sold, I want to buy some new toys.
  2. Ian, I would have replied much sooner had I seen this post. The 150Hz suggestion in the manual was a conservative number for those volume junkies. I personally use 80Hz on mine, but do not take my settings as "recommended by Klipsch". The speaker was designed with Atmos first and foremost the target, but the speaker is pretty versatile. When a speaker is set to "Dolby Enabled" in the AVR, it does NOT set a high pass filter, or engage some hidden filter for those channels. Atmos channels are all full range, it is up to the end user to set bass management properly.
  3. You don't really want to install a wide dispersion speaker near corners. It can really wreck the width they create with additional cancellation. The 140sa will do just fine with 280, and 450, that is what I run. If you can afford, and want something larger, by all means get that. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  4. Word, they work just fine for me. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  5. I think 15 ft. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  6. The baffle is painted just like the original RF7, not plastic on the mkiii. The plinth on the bottom is also painted wood, not plastic. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  7. 1. very, very close to identical on the horn, tweeter/pp are different 2. no, completely different 3. long enough for 99%
  8. Negative, closed several years ago. The space is now a showroom. Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk
  9. Fear not, the "15's" will have the proper Klipsch sound, I like what I have heard thus far.
  10. You would want to use them properly with an Atmos AVR assigning them to the height front channels. Then you can use the Dolby Surround upmixer to create additional ambience with your 2 channel sources. I do not recommend ganging 2 speakers in parallel as the increase in current draw may negatively affect your amplifier. Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk
  11. Your pictures do not show up. Can you try to post them using the forum software? The easiest advice is to position your theater like the traditional method, while the atmos modules sit on top of the FL, FR. As long as you are not sitting too far back from them, they should just work.
  12. its no problem to use RP-250s for surrounds. We use them all the time.
  13. As you have already stated the room will dominate, especially at low frequency. If an individual had one room to dedicate to designing a subwoofer, then that is the room it will work in the best. You can't equalize a subwoofer for one room, and expect the same results from other rooms. Not only is there the frequency response isssues, you must pay attention to how it actually sounds. That will change depending on each room as well. We use multiple rooms to listen in and a non biased party to measure against (ground plane). I could not fathom only listening and designing for one room, there are too many things to go wrong. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  14. Okay, there is a lot wrong with that first statement. No disagreement with the second.Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  15. If you actually read the link provided you would not have to make assumptions.I was just being a little snarky, I will read it all someday. In the meantime someone bring one to indy for some calibrated measurements.Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk Measurements have already been done, every room will measure different as there are too many variables to take into consideration. Which is exactly why one would use a ground plane to get a true response without room gain.Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk

  17. Seems fishy to me, is there 40db of EQ boost? Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  18. The corner is the last place I personally would put a subwoofer. If anyone wants to bring such a subwoofer to Indy, I'll measure it. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  19. I'm not doubting a horn sub will sound good, or doubt that it gets loud. My point is, unless it is the size of 2 couches, it wont have large amounts of output below 30Hz, it just isn't possible. At that point it is just a sealed box. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  20. I don't think you can find a better sub than the R-115SW for the same price. Lots of good DIY solutions out there too. A horn sub that fits in a regular house, I call BS if you want anything of authority under 35Hz.
  21. The 280FA is fantastic at throwing the image above you. I have only those in my Atmos system at home. I say they work great on their own. P.S. Not only am I a user, am also the inventor. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  22. I'm not sure why the T/S parameters are so coveted for our stuff. I mean if you want to create your own speakers, then pick a driver that fits your needs for your specific project. Anything you buy from us was spec'd for a specific job most of the time, not to mention it cost a penny or 2.
