  1. They work great as a surround speaker. I use them myself. We do not limit frequencies below 150Hz in the speaker. Even though it has "special filtering" for Atmos, it still works fantastic as a surround. Go for it!
  2. Those pieces of foam never came from Klipsch. We certainly don't hand out candy either.

    R-15PM

If you want to use an external preamp to the R-15PM, then put the switch on LINE. If you want to turn OFF the preamp in your TT, then set the switch to PHONO on the R-15PM. I suspect the preamp in the R-15PM is better than the one built into your turn table. Never feed a LINE level signal into a PHONO preamp, it will overdrive the circuit and possibly break it if driven hard enough.
  4. Maybe I missed it, but did you make sure the HDMI inputs on the TV is one that actually supports ARC? We have a new Sony TV and only a couple HDMI inputs have ARC support. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  5. If you are that concerned about the port, then plug it with some upholstery foam. If you use a HP filter coupled with the wall gain it will be just fine.
  6. Buy a blown 15" pro woofer, and cut off the motor. Tune the passive to match the Fs of the original.
  7. There is a keyhole mount built in, why spend money on a mount?
  8. Good luck finding an AVR that supports a Hybrid setup, I haven't heard of one yet. If you find one, the IC speakers would be assigned to the rear top speakers.
  9. 2 part clear epoxy, likely came from wal-mart.
  10. I made a jig for this very driver at one time. While I got it back together, it was super tough to get a symmetrical gap. If you can't machine a jig, I would not attempt a repair. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  11. I think you need you need to grab some of your favorite beverage and read the manuals. So are you trying add harmonics to your bass with that dbx unit? The KISS method usually prevails. Use your DX-38, implement the filters, sit back and listen. As far as the Crown amp settings, I would have to read the manual to give correct information.
  12. What exactly are you asking? Everything down to #1 sounds like a thought out and useful signal path that will work. To answer #1, if the sub can handle the power then bridge the K1. After that you lost me on what you are trying to accomplish.
  13. Didn't want to make the other thread longer. If anyone has followed along, just wanted to say our Customer Service people are swamped. That is why you may experience hold times. It is being rectified. Your calls should see an improvement very soon.
  14. You can experiment with the horn output by taking off the RED binding strap and placing a .5 ohm resistor in series with the TOP RED binding post. Then reconnect a wire from the resistor to the bottom RED binding post.
  15. Well I stand corrected then, things do get fuzzy over time. I thought Synergy 3 was the first at BBY. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  16. I recommend 4 R-115SW for performance/dollar, or however many you can afford. I have two, and they sound more musical than the RSW-15. I also owned 2 of those in the exact same spots in my HT. I am sure the ID subs are good, but you know you want some copper! A couple thoughts on subwoofers... Your crossover frequency is always variable in the acoustic domain, unlike the setting in your bass management. As you turn up the volume your subwoofer produces more HF. This usually is where inductance distortion becomes a large factor. Another factor that can give away a subwoofers location is the stuff around it vibrating. A picture frame on a latex painted wall can make a ticking sound to drive a man insane, true story! Distortion numbers given in % doesn't really mean as much compared to stating them for an amplifier. As already stated you can go pretty high in distortion with subwoofers before becoming annoying. It is that top end of the sub you really want to keep down.
  17. Those are the first generation Synergy, never sold at Best Buy. They are similar to the original Reference line.
  18. Eh? Was that rumor just now started? lol
  19. Galaxy Audio is about the best you can do without breaking the bank. The analog Rat Shack is okay if you can still find it.
  20. Comedy, and education, sounds like a recipe for a great thread. That was one of the funniest images I have ever seen posted.
  21. Should not need to remove driver to pull the input panel. I think all connections can be undone in the preamp board. The only one you may need to pull from the amp side is the line/neutral connections from the AC board. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  22. Because they sound better Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  23. What is your ceiling height? Why can you not mount in-ceiling speakers? The VOG speaker is used by Auro 3D systems, not Atmos. To directly answer you, I would use 4 CP-6 speakers if you need something top mounted. Something I have thought of trying is a Gallery style speaker, since they are so slim.
