If I ever decide to add another set of Towers to my existing RP-5 Front Mains... Thus have both the RP-5s as Front Mains and RF-5s as Front Mains... (2 sets of Towers in Front) Could I use the Front PreOuts on the AVR7300 and add a 2 channel amp to run the extra RF-5s...and still use the internal amp of the AVR7300 as I currently do to power the RP-5s??? And... Would everything work in harmony...still have the effects of DTS, Dolby Digital, etc... on both Front Sets... Thanks, TIM

Hi all, I'm still fine tuning, tweeking my current setup... I had previously used my older KV-1 Center but recently purchased a Mint RC-3II ... The sound from the RC-3II is great... The only minor issue that I have with my current setup is that during audio feedback from certain TV Shows (via Digital Satelitte) the Horn on the RC-3II seems a little "Raspy" ... not sure if this is the correct description... Primarily only when someone is speaking... The "Rasp" isn't noticed during Dolby Digital or DTS playback... only lesser quality TV show audio... Is this simply that fact that these very efficient horns are now showing me some of the imperfections in the lesser quality recordings vs. my previous Dome Tweeter Center Channel? Music and Movies and almost flawless... I also wanted to run by my current AVR7300 settings to ensure this is close... SPEAKER SETTINGS: I have the Center (RC-3II) set to SMALL, the Mains (RP-5s) set to LARGE, & the Rears (RF-3s) set to LARGE... CROSSOVER SETTINGS: I've been playing with the center (RC-3II) settings @ 150 - 200 Hz & have all the other speakers set to 80 Hz ... I may be being a little picky, but just looking to Fine Tune as much as possible... [] Thanks everyone, TIM

The JVC might be cheaper because it's not as popular or proven as Denon, Yamaha, Etc... I'd like to hear one... Hopefully you'll have a location to try out the different brands... If you decide that you don't have to have HDMI on your receiver, there are some good deals out there on Harman Kardon's lineup and from the little experience that I've had with their product... So far the HK sounds great with my Klipsch Reference Setup... Hope you find one that you truly enjoy! -TIM

Hi guys... I'm on my 4th A/V Receiver now... 3 are currently seeing duty in my home... I have a Yamaha RXV793, RXV1300, and a Harman Kardon AVR7300 ... I've been a big fan of the Yamaha lineup for some time now... and still am... Recently I visited a Circuit City and was playing with the AVR635 and was really impressed with it's sound... so, after hearing the 635 and seeing several great reviews, I decided to go with something different and purchased the AVR7300 and am very happy that I did... This receiver compliments my Reference Speakers very, very nicely... Very powerful in both Home Theater and Music applications... It is a big improvement over my other Yamaha receivers in both power and sound quality but again, this wasn't a very fair competition... The HK does have a different sound than the Yamaha and the Klipsch speakers seem to like it a lot!!! If you would like to try something different and am on a budget, I would strongly suggest you take a look at the HK AVR635 ... There are currently some pretty good deals going on out there for this receiver... Hope this helps, TIM

Hi, Yea...the only differences that I've ever heard of where both the monster wire and the port ... I picked up a very nice used set of RF-3's about a month ago and I really enjoy the sound quality... I'm currently using these for Rears in my Home Theater Setup and they work great... They are also great when it comes to 4 or 5 channel Music... I have a Yamaha RXV793, RXV1300 and a Harman Kardon AVR7300 ... I hooked the All Klipsch setup to the RXV1300 for a while and really enjoyed the sound quality... I've always been a fan of Yamaha products... After I picked up the HK AVR7300, I then used this receiver to power the all Klipsch setup and I did notice a vast improvement. BUT... this wasn't a fair comparison... The Harman Kardon 7300 is an almost perfect match for my Reference setup...at least to my ears... However, I do feel that the mid level Yamaha Receivers and the mid level Harmon Kardon recievers are GREAT BANK FOR THE BUCK receivers, that sound great... The Harmon Kardon AVR635 might even been your best option... You should be happy with either, especially when using the RF-3 speakers... -TIM

OK...I think that I've figured this out... Now...no more popups... Hope this works! Here are some pics of my Living Room Home Theater Setup... And Yes...that's not a grill on top of my set...It's an antenna that I use to receive over the air HD signals... It works great and the color matches the Klipsch Speakers very nicely... RC-3II and RP-5's along with the Toshiba 57HDX82... Here's a zoomed in view of one of the RP-5's... I really enjoy these speakers... Here's a view of my component rack setup...Notice the nice, new HK 7300 on the bottom.... MMMMmmmmm! The last shot is of my rear speakers... The room has 2 identical sofas in an L pattern... At the end of each sofa is an RF-3 tower... Hope you like my Living Room Theater Setup... The only thing that I don't like about it was that I had to place the TV in the corner, which makes for some challenges but it's working great thus far... Take care, TIM

'bout time they added another HD channel... I watched some of it last night and love every minute of it... Only wish HBO/Max HD was included in the HD package...but that would make too much sense! Hopefully more HD channels are in the pipeline... -TIM

Here's a short review thus far... I ran the All Klipsch setup with my old Yamaha...and then with the HK... First...the All Klipsch setup sounds GREAT ... with the Yamaha or the HK... BUT... The 7300 is definitly a beast... Not only do I have crisp, clean power at virtually all listening levels ... but movies and music are definitly "fuller" and "more vibrant" with the HK ... Much improved "presence" and "realism" ... This HK truely is an almost perfect match for the Klipsch Speaker Line to my ears... I watched a few movies with the HK and the sound was killer... I felt as if I was finally in a theater room with huge sound... It was much like being in a high-end theater demo room for me... Actually made a few hairs stand ...!!! I hooked everything up through the HK's video processing F-chip... and it has tons of flexibility/options... You can notice a difference in the picture but it depends on your settings... I eventually went back to the video of the progressive DVD as I find it very crisp and clear as well...but I'll try more video settings in the near future when I get more free time for fine tuning... I may not notice much improvement with my CRT TV but with a LCD or Plasma... you may see improvement... Again, the sound from this sub 60lbs. unit is incredible... Movie and Music MACHINE! Sound is Super... BASS Response is Superb... NOT PUNCHY/BOOMY ... Just perfect and there when it should be... The RP-5's love the bass response of the 7300 ... No Issues as all setting up the various options...The fan within my unit is VERY quiet... The remote is great and has tons of flexibility as well... Macros, after Macros, after Macros... This unit does not have HDMI...so if you wish to wait, I hear the next HK line will have this option... However, for me the price was right to make this purchase now... Thanks again, TIM

Hi All, Thanks for the recommendations on the HK A/V Receiver Lineup... I've had this AVR-7300 now for almost a week and LOVE IT!!! My Klipsch setup has never been happier... I now truly feel as if my Music and Home Theater has come to life... This was a great match to my ears...!!! The receiver is VERY flexible...easy to setup, a beast, and a great performer... and I don't even notice the fan running... Thanks again, TIM

The HK sound pretty hard to pass up with my speaker setup... Most people agree Klipsch + HK = "A very pleasing sound!" It will probably either by the AVR635 or the AVR7300 ... I've found the AVR635 from a authorized online dealer for ~ $650 and the AV7300 for ~ $1280 Is the AV7300 worth twice the price? I do like the extra power...but I don't really think I need the upconverting... -TIM

Thanks Guys, I went and demoed the HK again last night... It does sound pretty good but I'm having a hard time getting past the remote... I might even start looking at the HK AVR7300 ... From what I read, the amps within the 7300 are very, very strong for an A/V Receiver... Keep the comments coming... -TIM

This decision is getting very tough...Even after searching around for more info... This receiver is for the following Speaker setup... RP-5's as Mains (Ea. powered with 550w Sub) RF-3's as Rears RC-3 as Center Most Klipsch Dealers that I've spoken to have almost all recommended the Harmon Kardon ... I've been running Yamaha receivers for some time now, but I'd like to try something new... I listened to these amps and haven't really been able to tell very much difference from the little time demoing these units... Any help...??? Has Klipsch ever recommended a brand of receiver to compliment their Speakers? Thanks...

Know this post is old... But I'd like to know how the Denon VS. Marantz Compared... I'm looking for another receiver...such as the Denon 3805 or Marantz 7500 ... -TIM

Depending on Condition...this might not be too bad of a deal... However, I would try for $250 ... You could also look around and find a good set of older RF-3 or RF-3 II towers... These can be found on sites for around $400+ ... TIM
