  1. I honestly didn't even think about buying just a dust cap. Heck I didn't even know you could buy just the cap. I will definitely check out buying one for it instead of an entire replacement. Thanks for the advice
  2. I have a pair of Forte 2s that have a hole in one of the dust caps on one of the passive speakers on the back and somehow managed to lose the screw down part of the terminal as well. I am curious if anyone knows where I can buy a passive sub and the screw down portion of the terminals. This is my third set of the Forte 2s and I plan on selling them because I now do not have the room to run them as surrounds(My LCR are all Forte2s) And I know as picky as I am that someone will not want to buy it with a hole in the dust cap.
  3. I'd buy today if it wasn't so dang far!
  4. Thanks for the reply guys, it never ceases to amaze me how nice everyone has always been on this forum. I wish I had people in my area to listen to systems and such with. Heck I have been to the Hope factory many times and only live 30 minutes from it. What do yall think about that Dynaco he posted. Heck if yall think it looks good I don't mind taking a risk on buying it and possibly getting a damn good piece of gear I will keep for a long time.
  5. Hey guys I have some down time in between moves and I am considering giving tube amps a shot. I'll be powering forte ii's. I have heard that a SS amp with a tube pre amp "sounds" the same as a tube system. I was going to run a crown amp to them with gobs a power. I see where people put new tubes in their amps. With some tubes so expensive how often do y'all replace them? The integrated tube amps have a huge appeal to me because I like the idea of having it all in one box. I'd definitely need a suggestion on a good model if I go integrated tube amp since it seems a lot of them are made in china(doesn't bother me) but I don't know anything about the brands. Heck I guess other than mcintosh(usually out of my price league) I don't know much of any brands in the tube world. I'm open to suggestions.
  6. Can the bottom part come off the forte ii? The little riser. It seems like it could be taken off. If so it would fit perfect under my screen and would be an exact match.
  7. If I have a pair of forte ii with the crites tweeter how close would a pair of heresys be with the same crites tweeter as far as timbre goes for my LCR. Edit: also I noticed the new heresy has the titanium tweeters in them (not sure how they compare sonically to crites)
  8. I have a question about mixing front three heritage speakers with reference surrounds. Mainly with my RB51ii heights in my 9.1 setup. I'm curious how distracting it would be to have lets say 3 La scalas up front and have the rest including height reference
  9. I was only 18 in 2004. Had promedia ultras as my first klipsch product. Then randomly came across a pair of klipsch tower speakers from a ffriend and picked tthem up. They didn't have labels but sounded ok from what I previously owned. from there I had rf52ii and rc52 as mains. Then went from there all the way to what's in my signature.
  10. Best as in the top of the line reference speaker. As far as I know its the top. But this was m ore of a wow post. Not a complaint.
  11. I seriously feel like at some point Klipsch has lied to me. I own the the "best" reference speaker made. The rf7ii. I found a good deal on craigslist for a pair of forte II with crites titanium tweeters for $375. I figured you know if anything ill have something for my computer room. I can not even explain how dissapointed I am. These speakers sound ungodly smoother and alive than my rf7iis. I'm really enjoying these speakers more than I could have ever imagined. I have had them for 4 days and can already tell you I'm not letting them go. Some of the best money I have ever spent.
  12. Also on a side note, the two side walls in the room are made of really thick wood. Probably 3/4 thick. It looks very bleh in my opinion but the size of the room is perfect for the HT so I stuck it in there. I am not "allowed" to pull the wood down or else she(WAF) would shoot me.
  13. Well I sit about 14ft from them. I have them towed in facing the main LP. Maybe my tow in is too extreme. Whenever I finish setting it all up in my new house(2.1 channel currently only thing hooked up in the new house) I'll post some pictures. with everything setup and show the layout and all the locations so yall can give me a better idea. As far as bass is concerned I don't know who has built one but my TubaHT will pick up the shortcomings of any speaker made bass wise. The entire inside of the box is fiberglassed so that no air at all is lost in the horn. It is ferociously loud. It wiggles the mirrors on my truck in the driveway.
  14. So I switched to a Denon 4311 and I still find something lacking. Argh I'm pulling my hair out. Maybe I will just be happier with the heritage line. How would 3 Lascalas up front sound for home theater use?
  15. I live 20 minutes from this amazing company. I have picked up many pairs of speakers from them in person. Super friendly and an amazing product.
  16. Don't know yet. I'll have to swing by the new house this weekend and measure but its a fairly large living room.
  17. I have been rolling around the idea to go heritage for a while now. I have been looking at bob crites website and he sells four different type of complete cornscalas. I was thinking of doing three up front for my LCR. How well would these do across the board vs my 7's. I have not decided on any of the styles.
  18. I'd really like to have the power incase I want to run a zone 2 and I don't know how well emo's EQ is compared to audessey xt.
  19. How is the integra stuff? Something like the 50.3 or maybe the 70.3. I have heard issues with onkyo and denon both.
  20. I seriously think that maybe its the Yamaha and the YPAO that I am dissatisfied with. My music does not sound rich and full at all. Even movies have sort of a background sound instead of in your face like I was hoping. I have heard nothing but good things about the 7's so I bought some. Maybe I should get a receiver that has multieq xt. If I turn my receiver in pure direct mode for music there is literally no bass coming out of the 7's and it sounds like a tin can. Im definitely feeding it high quality material. Very dissapointed
  21. I'm so torn with my current system. I'm really dont know what direction I should take it. I keep hearing that the heritage line is what people strive to get and keep. My system sounds great don't get me wrong but something is lacking. I can't put my finger on it. I was talking about getting 7 lascalas and with my Tuba HT this would be a rocking system but I do not have the desire to track down and mod 7 of them to all sound the same. On the other hand I hear that the heresy iii sounds really well on a stand and it is in my budget if I sold my current speakers to get 7 brand new ones. But then I'm worried if the xpa 5 would be too many watts for them. If I sold the xpa5 I could get a avr that I actually used the amp on but I like the xpa. Ugh :/
