  1. There are a pair of new Synergy speakers in the movie The Watch with Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller. The speakers are in Vaughn's basement.

    Act of Valor

I just finished watching the Blu-ray of this movie. My review is copied from a previous post: The movie kicks @ss. I originally watched it @ a Regal Theater. I was disappointed with the Blu-ray audio though. It is recorded in DTS Master. It seems to be overly bloated on the low end and the level between the front and surrounds didn't seem to be matched. I had to bump down the surround levels about a dB. I've never had to do that with any other movie. Even the boat rescue scene wasnt very impressive. I was disappointed, which is sad becuase that was the one scene I was looking forward to. I'm curious to read others reviews of the Blu-ray.

  4. Yes add me to this list. I just finished watching Act of Valor and apparently the neighbors just finished LISTENING to Act of Valor Oops.. I think this was my 1000th post...Finally, it only took me 7.5 years
  5. Just curious how we log in to view products that we registered through the website. I know I registered all of my equipment but I can't remember how to view it now. I see the website has gone through several transformations since I initially registered. Is it still possible to view. I'm trying to find the purchase date of my RC7.
  6. Anybody have problems with this Blu-ray loading in your players? I've talked with Denon and they say they have released a firmware update for this particular title. I have the latest firmware on my player. I also exchanged with a new copy of disc. They have asked me to ship in the player along with the movie.
  7. I had the exact same thing happen on my older RW12. It was about 2 yrs old and Klipsch replaced it with a brand new RW12D. Awesome service.
  8. Ouch...I just tried watching episode 5 and at the "20th Century Fox" logo into opening scene I got a very loud screech/thump in the rears. Almost like somebody ran the needle across a turntable. I am only a 5.1 setup but it seemed like the surrounds/rear are awfully hot, read distorted. I had to bump down my levels for the surrounds. Any others experience the loud screech/thump?
  9. Dialogue Normalization has nothing to do with the audio sync issue. You need to read your manual or hope other Onkyo users can point you in the right direction of your receiver settings. Sorry to sound harsh but I dont know what Onkyo uses as far as terminology for the sync issue. My Denon uses the term "audio delay" to adjust for audio sync issues. This is in addition to HDMI auto lip sync correction. Good luck.
  10. Yeah I thought that was pretty funny too cornfedksboy. The only thing I didnt like about the show was that they made the comment about the speakers having horns, and the horns are more "forward" in your face sounding. I equate "forward" to mean bright, listener fatigue, which is always the disclaimer people feel they have to give when talking Klipsch. Of course that is just my opinion.
  11. The episode is airing tonight. Patrick Warburton from the sitcom Rules of Engagement is the actor utilizing the RF7ii setup. Looks like they did a 7.3 setup.

    Furniture

I like the Bell'o offerings. They are generally sold through specialty A-V stores and not found in the big chains. Here are some: http://www.bello.com/index.php?partition=show_product&prod_id=291
  13. Well it was not last night's episode. Maybe next week.
  14. I saw the previews for this new series, 'Hollywood Hi-Tech', on the DIY network, Wednesdays @ 9:30PM EST. It is a show about hollywood big wigs and their home theater construction. During one of the previews they highlight a Klipsch RF7II setup. This Wednesday is the series premiere and starts with Chris Connolly. Not sure but this may be the RF7II episode since Klipsch had something to do with 'Entourage' a few years ago if I remember correctly.
  15. He must have watched the Smokey and the Bandit marathon that weekend.
  16. I had a friend who worked at a Ford plant in the Midwest, he told me of similar stories. This news is not a big shock.
  17. I dont think it is a apple to apple comparison. The RC7 is in a different league than the RC62/RC3. The 8' horn/driver combo of the RC7 blows away the RC3/62.
  18. Is it like the 88mag? Does it shoot through schools, through the tree outside the school, and through the car just past the tree? (See Johnny Dangerously movie)[]
  19. Sounds like the sub is working. I think you just need to level match the Denon output for the sub to the Crown amp. I think if you press the enter button on the Denon remote it will pull up the trim levels so you can adjust them. Im not sure if the auto cal feature works when using an external amp. If not you may need to get an SPL meter to level match the output from the Crown and Denon amp.
  20. Before hooking up the Crown amp, did you have the fronts (RF-83) set to Large in the Denon? Is this used as a 2 channel system? Is the sub not working in all modes ie Direct/2channel vs Surround modes? I believe there are two different locations you need to set in the Denon. One is for 2 channel audio and the other is for surround. Check to make sure you have Subwoofer-yes in both locations in the Denon menu if this is a multichannel (surround) system.
  21. Sometimes these threads are better than a good movie or album.[]
  22. Actually I think you run a bigger risk of damaging your speakers from underpowering. When a speaker is underpowered you risk clipping and blowing the tweeter if pushed.

    True Grit

I finally got around to seeing this movie. I kept thinking the "Dude" was channeling Carl from 'Sling Blade'. I was just waiting for him to ask the girl to fix him some bisquits with mustard. Seeing the original many years ago ruined it for me.
