  1. well i just paid for the mint 902-8t's. $235 shipped. that's about the price it would've costed to have sfogg rebuild a pair for me, but with much less hassle. thank you sfogg for inspiring me to try these out. can't wait till they arrive next step (long down the road) will be building a pair of ES networks when i decide to go two way (that's if bob's new tweeters aren't a better solution)
  2. ah okay, thanks. was just worried about the model differences between B and T
  3. 902-8t vs 902-8b can i use the T version? i've only see the b version before, but i have a buyout offer on mint 8t's for a nice price of $235 shipped. what do you guys think? i kind of need an answer quick, hence the new thread []
  4. heh.. i inquired about the ones up on ebay right now. i asked for an early auction ender (sometimes i get lucky and grab a good deal), but the guy wanted $325 []
  5. oh this improvement is SET exclusive? pff []
  6. nice choice in music. i use the 4 ohm tap on my mc250. i'll try the 16 tomorrow. it's a pain in switching things out when you're not using spades or some kind of termination
  7. 120db is more than enough for this 11x11 room although it is fun to turn it up when i'm working in the yard (open the cellar doors and let em rip).. or to drown out the neighbor's mexican/rap hybrid music.
  8. I might have missed something, but 902's bolt directly to the 511b. No adapter is needed. Small format diaphragms from GPA are $119 each. I hammer the 902's crossed at 400hz first order with no prob. However, the loading caps are still in place. What exactly is loud? That is what it is to each listener. I lost a K33 at just over 120db[:$] and the 902's were still there. Regards, Terry ouch.. $120 for each diaphragm? that's getting a bit pricey. brings the cost to around $290 for the plates, diaphragms and rubbers. that's not too far off from their brand new price @ $400. i'll inquire about the parts and see what happens. thanks for the help.
  9. sounds good. would you mind telling me the exact model #'s of all the parts i need to have sent to you? i don't want to order the wrong thing. i'm not sure how their ordering process works. they don't seem to have a shopping cart or anything set up. i assume i just e-mail them for a quote then send over the credit card info? thanks. -chris edit: for an adapter, i have the selenium ones that i drilled to use with the k-55 on my 511b's. those will work fine, correct? as for loading caps, what exactly is "loud?" i only have a 63 or so watt amp (mc250 rated at 50wpc, but supposedly works to around 63 just fine), but if i can't use them at enjoyable levels for the occasional movie without drastic crossover adjustments, i think i may have to wait on them []
  10. shawn, $225 sounds good to me. i saw a good pair on ebay sell for about that much, but i didn't win. would you prefer me to paypal you a grand total or i order the parts then send them out to you? i've been itching to try out 902's for a while, but the $400 pricetag was putting me off -chris
  11. shawn, that's quite an offer. how much do the parts go for? i don't see any prices listed on the site. if you want, i can paypal you the money for the drivers, labor, and parts. so these basically are the same thing as the 902's? thanks. -chris
  12. i'd take them if i had the slightest idea how to get them working []
  13. man! what a deal on those 902's. too bad i didn't see this thread earlier []
  14. http://www.benchmade.com/products/product_detail.aspx?model=710 i like the 710HS version. seems to be out of stock on most sites. i found it for $119 at "defenseamerica." shot the owner of the site an e-mail to see if he actually has it in stock (and also to make sure my order won't be sitting around for months due to an inactive site). looks like it's completely legal and falls right in line with the "under 4" law." the blade shape seems to also be more versitile for everyday work compared to the tanto. although i must admit, the tanto looks cooler
  15. well, i just received an e-mail from the seller on ebay. he was nice enough to tell me not to worry about it as long as i left him some positive feedback. good guy. now... to find another knife.
  16. haha.. oh well. i'll give it a few hours before i pay. maybe he'll see my e-mail and be nice enough to tell me not to worry about it. he's sold a few of these knives.
  17. i asked him to cancel my bid.. i didn't realize it was serrated [] i don't think he'll see the e-mail in time.. oh well i guess i'm stuck with it
  18. i bid on this auto http://cgi.ebay.com/Benchmade-Auto-Stryker-9100SBT-Never-Used_W0QQitemZ6591532756QQcategoryZ73531QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem i put down $146. i don't expect to win, but we'll see.
  19. ooo.. those sog flash II's come with tanto blades http://cgi.ebay.com/SOG-Flash-II-TiNi-Tanto-blade-plain-edge-4-5-Zytel-NIB_W0QQitemZ6590962765QQcategoryZ88920QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  20. i gotta say ... my SOG flash, probably can't be told from an "auto" the difference is, you "start" the opening, then the spring takes over and its LEGAL duke, i need something that can hold a damn good edge and won't break at the hinge on me. to be honest i've never heard of SOG, but then again, i'm not really into knives. benchmade's reputation and the whole free sharpening for life if you send them the knife (just pay shipping) is what caught my attention. oh, and shade.. i sent ya a pm []
  21. if i could carry a fixed blade without uncomfortably hiding it in my pants (somehow), i'd definitely buy this http://chrisreeve.com/aviator.htm
  22. i can't catch a break. this isn't a defense knife although if the time arose that i ever needed to potentially kill an aggressor in order to save my own life or someone else's, i'd use it. i was looking at auto knives (yes, i know highly illegal, but i figured since i'm keeping it out of sight...may as well.), but they won't ship it to me without filling out a form agreeing that i'm an officer. if i keep everything 100% legal, i suppose i'll go with the benchmade stryker 910 (3.7" black tanto blade and folding mechanism.)
