  1. Thanks, you are right about it being the RF-3s but the F-3s spec out the same or better than the RF-35s...this is my question but whenver I mention the "S" word, I get told to do a search (done it...very little info other than "I hate Synergy" and "Klipsch sold out to BB"...I have found some people on here who say they have the F3s and I have sent them e-mail along with Trey...no responses yet but it is still early. Thanks for responding, Bill
  2. I apologize for asking so many questions about the new Synergy line but being new to Home Theater, I was trying to keep to a price point and I had never bought more than 2 speakers in a sitting and I guess I have to get used to spending a bit more. It just seems that anytime I mention "Synergy", well, that's the end of that thread. So I apologize for asking newbie questions and bringing up the "red headed step child" of Klipsch speakers... Thanks to all that did contribute to my questions... Bill
  3. Just curious how the new Synergys stack up to stereo and the other lines...I have older KG2s... thanks, Bill
  4. Thanks for your replies...I may disappoint a few of you but I think I must make a budget and stick to it...RIGHT!...I may be able to get a killer deal on a new set of the New Synergy F-3s they sell at BB...it will be hundreds less than a similarly sized and speced RF-35...I hate to skimp and a bit of me would rather buy USA but this IS several hundred dollars difference...If my nephew can get an accomidation for the Reference line...well I'll go that route...I have seen on here several BB employees saying they can and can't get the other lines other than Synergy. Thanks to all for your help and guidance. I will most likely be powering this system with Outlaw Audio 950 processor, 7100 100 watt per channel, all channels driven 7.1 amp and perhaps an outlaw sub (Hsu) Thanks again, Bill
  5. Sorry to keep beating this horse but I just learned I may be able to get the new Synergy F-3s for several (more than $300) less than the best price I could find on the net for RF35s...System for system the two packages spec out very similarly with each getting some better specs on some things (I read this as nearly equal.) However, the References are made her in the USA, the cabinets can be gotten in some different vinyl colors and the wiring and some components are upgraded over the made in China, any color as long as it's black No Love Here Synergys ;-) Not being able to hear these two side by side but having heard them about 20 minutes apart at two different locations have only confused me but Trey seems to think the Synergys are the near equal of the Reference (in this case) Thanks for all your help! I will be pairing these speakers with a new Outlaw Audio 950/7100/LFM-1 if the planets align...this would have been SO much easier if I had done this a bit at a time! ;-) Bill
  6. I am venturing into Home Theater after holding out for, I don't know why...anyway...Here's the quandry! I started into this thinking I would go an easy route, get better than my TV sound and not have those darned cables everywhere...Solution...Bose 321...after hearing the Bose 321 I concluded...ingenious how they get sound coming from behind me when the speakers are in front of me but...no WOW factor...move along, these aren't the droids you're looking for! I decide if I am going to do this, I should spend more for the better experience and the ultimate in satisfaction (right!) I looked at receivers by DenonOnkyoSonyPioneerMarantzYamaha and decided I wanted their near 1K offerings to be "satisfied." (...but sir, if you spend just a little bit more you can buy RotelNADetc!...) My older brother (who is plugged in to this stuff) says you have to look at Outlaw Audio...I did and in all my search efforts and contacting them I learn NO ONE has anything bad to say about them and for the money, I pretty much cannot do better than their stuff...('course now I'm up over 1.5K!) Now I come to speakers...when I went from my old Zenith all in one in 1979 (ugh! ;-) I bought a Yamaha integrated amp (CA 610II) and Bose 301s...a great combo at that time for the money...later when the big brother had to surpass me before he became the electronics kook he has become today, I went with him to view the latest in Stereo offerings...Since the day my Dad called it Hi Fi, I had heard he always held the Klipschorns as the "Holy Grail" of speakers...not having $2,500 at the time...brother bought Heresy's and I got the KG2s...coupled with identical Nakamichi TA/2As I was pretty happy...a step above my Bose 301s and the "receiver" (Nakamichi called it a Tuner Amp) was "almost separates"...Brilliant guy I am...I got into stereo just as the market turned to home theater (It'll NEVER catch on ;-) Now I have the Outlaw stuff pretty much wrapped up and back to speakers...my gosh there are SO many different ones but...since I have always liked Klipsch stuff, I look around and... Best Buy sells Klipsch (albeit Synergy for good or bad) I listen to the new F-3 system but their place is NOT conducive to getting the full experience...later the same day I look and listen to Reference RF-35 system (similar in size and specs to the new Synergy F-3 system) and like it but not a lot of WOW factor here either...I mean on music alone...for Home Theater I really liked it (I thought it lacked bass without the sub BUT this was also in a LARGE room...MUCH bigger than the room I would be putting it in...ZZ Top was the material played... I have asked some questions here AND on the Outlaw site as to compatability of the Klipsch stuff with Outlaw...I have gotten good feedback for this combo but it seems the more I look at the Klipsch, the more I seem to say..."For just a bit, I can move up to the NEXT level speakers" Before too long, my budget is shot (a long time ago, I fear) and I think I am taking myself too far up the ladder to get the "perfect" set up when logic tells me (oh yeah...I'm logical...;-) that ANY of these systems will sound GREAT compared to the Sony 36" I am viewing currently (does ANYONE Still watch a CRT screen???) If I stay Klipsch, do I get the Synergy F-3 system at BB for a bit of money...spend more and get the Reference RF-35 system for it's better performance (is it better???) or buy more piecemeal and get something like the RB-75 "system" for my medium sized viewing area (with all its wierd walls and corners etc.?) I should add I would like to listen to music as well as movies on this set-up if that helps... I'm in a flat spin and headed out to sea...HELP! Thanks, Bill
  7. Thanks for the replies...actually...Outlaws new price on the 950 brand new is...$699...so itza bargain if such things exist...as to the Reference RF-35s being better than the F3s...can you tell me why they're better other than where they're made, some component upgrades and wires (Monster cable)can you tell me why??? The References and Synergys are similar in size and specs (Synergy better on some and Reference better on others) but the Reference are a bit more cash...thanks for your responses. Bill (I am talking about the F-3s and NOT the SF-3s)
  8. Apac020: Thanks...just over there looking into the subs before I checked back here...I keep seeing where Trey did some review on the F-3s but only find the links that lead to comments like the Synergy's are not as good as the Reference line but no real world comments...what am I missing when I try the search keys? Thanks, Bill
  9. ...anyone have any experience with both???...I am looking to get into Home Theater...I have started with baby steps but as with many things...I am just about to break the speed of sound (apologies to Chuck Yeager!)...Using my older brother as a guide, he recommended I look into Outlaw Audio...some killer prices (albeit more than I thought I was going to spend...I bet NO ONE here ever did that, right??? Outlaw Audio 950 Processor Outlaw Audio 100 watt amp 7100 (7.1 X 100 watts all channels driven) Outlaw Audio Sub or Klipsch sub Klipsch Synergy F-3s front/center/rear surround or Klipsch Reference RF-35s front/center/rear surround Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I have done the searches here but come up with little information on the Synergy (most think cheap) and Reference (more say MUCH better than current Synergy) HELP! Thanks, Bill
  10. Bill H: Thanks for your response...I DID see your threads yesterday when I found this place...Today I listened to the F-3s at Best Buy...not bad...then I went to Barret's to listen to the Reference line...I have to admit the following: Reference- Made in America, Color options to speaker cabinets, copper colored woofers , better wiring, some better components, more money. Synergy- Made in China, black vinyl ash look only, slightly lesser quality components and wiring, less money (but not a whole lot!) I couldn't here a whole lot of difference but this is not a fair test as it was about 15 minutes between listens and the environments were FAR from perfect for listening. Any more information from anyone who has listenend or auditioned both. Any help here is appreciated...REALLY...I am losing my mind... Thanks, Bill
  11. First posting here...getting into Home Theater and have Klipsch for home stereo. I am thinking of getting a processor and amp from Outlaw audio...looking to add speakers...still enjoy my KG2s (but they will more than likely stay with the Nak) and thought I would look here. I like to do my research, came here and checked the search key and found some things out but thought I would ask for more input. Not much love for the Synergy Series...as I see the differences between the two I ask about comes down to Made in America (RF35) and Made in China (F-3) Synergy only made in black and some options with the Reference Series...similar design and specs...better wiring and some materials in Reference VS Synergy... Anything Else??? I don't see much about Klipsch for Home Theater as to reviews so if anyone can point me in that direction, I would be very appreciative. Other speakers I have looked at on line are Ascend Acoustics and Magnapan...cannot "hear" these as they are on-line only. I have heard the Klipsches but not in ideal settings. PLEASE HELP! Thanks, Bill
