  1. How would I go about purchasing a replacement woofer for my rb-35. I accidentally knocked one over and now the woofer has a stress crease in it. Performance is not affected as far as I can tell and it is hardly noticeable. But I know it is there. Who to contact besides local dealer?
  2. Well guys, we finally got moved into the new house. I did away with my rs-35`s and replaced them with the cdt-5800-c`s. The ceiling speakers are amazing, I would not have thought they sound as good as they do. The rs-35`s are sitting in boxes in the garage right now. I ended up not trading them in and considering selling. I cheaped out on the bedroom system so don`t think less of me. I put a yamaha ht in a box back there for my wife. Hey I cant afford klipsch in every room.
  3. I am stuck between which of these two to use to replace my rs-35 surrounds. Speaker placement will be in ceiling in the back corner of a tray ceiling. Which of the two would be the best for overall surround duty. I have looked at the specs and the 5800 is more efficient (2db) but that is not as much of a concern as which would actually sound better. I am asking for opinions.
  4. The sources are endless. How are your installation skills? How will the speakers be ran (active or passive)? Do you want coaxials or separate components? If you are going active then I should ask your budget. If you want separate components then I would seriously look at this website diymobileaudio.com as there is a ton of valuable information there. As for my self I stay away from the off the shelf speaker systems. I would look at home audio drivers. I currently use an array of peerless. lpg and dayton audio speakers. As for asking someone what is a good speaker, that is opening a big can of worms as listening is very subjective. If you do purchase an off the shelf speaker system spend some time listening to them off axis as most likely that is the way they will be installed in your vehicle. Most car audio showrooms have the speakers pointed at your head so back up and get down low and listen. I have read a lot of references to infinity speakers here. Yes they are good speakers but they are very harsh on the high end and are lacking in midbass output in my opinion. If you want a good sounding system in your car then plan on spending some coin. I have close to 5k in my auto sound right now and it is still sitting in boxes waiting to be installed (weather has sucked lately). Don`t buy the first set you listen to and be subjective in listening. My 2 cents for what it is worth.
  5. I had posted this in the wrong area of the boards a couple of days ago. I am looking to purchase replacement drivers for my rc-35 andmy rb-35`s. Who would I contact about this. I would like to try these midbass drivers and 8" woofers in a diy mobile audio setup if the cost is reasonable.
  6. It`s called a Torx head. I believe the one you need is a t-20 but I may be wrong. I would get a driver with interchangeable bits to be sure.
  7. Imho, anyone can make a spl car stereo system. It takes a lot more time and an extreme amount of patience and tuning to get sq in a car or truck. My silverado excab has an alpine 9815 deck a five channel amp two infinity 10" subs downfired for more accuracy and sq and active diy components up front. Its a constant tuning battle but thats half of the fun. I spend more time in my truck than my living room so a good system there makes sense. Mine is not a boom system but if i want to be a basshead (ie taking the kids out cruising) I can do it. I don`t like boom systems, I think they are tacky and unmusical.
  8. I run my RB-35`s from 80 hz up set as small. sub is rw-12
  9. Don`t feel lonely. I have an old 32" sony tube, and I get picture distortion when I turn the system up to Reference levels(0db or higher). I have the rw-12 with rb 35 system. My sub is probably 13 to 14 feet from the screen.
  10. I just purchased the Eagles Hell Freezes Over. I must say excellent quality. You guys dont laugh at this one but another excellent video and sound quality dvd concert (dts also) The Bee Gees One Night Only. Like I said dont laugh.
  11. It is not magnetic like the other reference speakers. The grill should be attached with friction pegs. My rw12 has these. They require a firm pull. Jst pull firmly and quickly on one corner, the rest will follow.
  12. Rg-6 cable will be fine for subwoofer application. I recently used it in a 8000 sq ft custom home for everything. Subwoofer, composite video, satelite, cable tv and audio. Had no problems at all come install time.
  13. I will go a third on the Infinity Perfects. I have a pair in my daughters mustang. Each one sees .83 ft3. bass extension is awesone. I`m running them off a Kicker 1000.2 from 63hz down. Of course I have tuned it down to keep her from breaking anything. Frequency response is awesome, flat doen to 26 hz then drops sharply after that. They do not like rap or hip hop music though, just dont sound right with that type of music in my opinion. Oh yeah the .83 ft3 is after driver displacement.
  14. Happy to hear your are happy with your new sub. I also have the rw12 and I am throughly impressed. I know there are better subs out there but for my application, it is truly awesome.
  15. Classis signs of a burnt voice coil. Contact Klipsch customer support and they should be able to get you a new driver. Does it smell funny. Had it happen in my truck when my amp burnt a pair of boston z-6 ($1000.00) car audio speakers, literaly smoked. Funny thing is it happened when I was tuning, roughly 600 watts according to digital volt meter. Needless to say I gave up my car audio hobby after that.
  16. I don`t think the omnimount 20.0 will work. They have a 3/8 bolt. The rs-35 has a 1/4-20 nut insert.
  17. I have mine wall mounted at 6.5 feet to the bottom of speaker and yes they are swiveled down. Sound hits directly on my ears when I am in the center listening position.
  18. Forgot to post where I bought. I purchased mine at radio shack. they ain`t cheap though, about 65 dollars a pair before tax. They are worth it though. You can also try ebay.
  19. I use the omnimount 10.0 on my rs35`s had no problems with them.
  20. Just got my new Yamaha rx-v1500 receiver to go with my 2 week old rb-35 reference system. Now all I need is a new television to go with it all. I love this system. Glad I didn`t let my wife talk me into a cinema 10 system. I wanted a system that I could look at not hide. Nice toys come with age.

    rs-35

I just purchased a full rb-35 system consisting of the rb-35`s, rc-35,rs-35`s and rw-12. Can anyone send my direction a quality wall mount for my surrounds that I can purchase. Local Klipsch dealer can order some but want some of the members here opinions first. Just to see what others are using. Just one more thing, these speakers are amazing. I have auditioned Klipsch products before but could not part with the cash. I am glad that I went this direction. Any help given will be greatly appreciated.
